I want to know your opinion about the new champ, Rexxar. Atm there is no champ like him with a "tanky" pet, I mean Misha seems to be present all the time (unless she's dead) and quite strong. I don't think Rexxar can fill a tank slot by itself but this new character design might changes few things in the game.
Anyway, I'm glad they introduced him and I can't wait to play him as well !
"Infernal Shrines is a three-lane Diablo-themed Battleground featuring three shrines that will periodically gather power. Teams can unleash this power by activating a shrine, defeating its guardians, and summoning a devastating Punisher to fight for them. These powerful bosses will spawn with one of three deadly affixes—Arcane, Frozen, or Mortar— and will hunt down nearby enemy Heroes as well as pushing the lane closest to their shrine."
To me Infernal Shrines looks more like Sky Temple with D3 theme and bosses summoned instead of lasers shooting if you win the shrine. All the info suggests the bosses are not controlled by players.
So, I'm curious what will determine if the punishers will push or attack heroes. On my first reading I thought there would be different types you can capture(that is, something like red punishers would go after heroes, blue would push lanes), but I think I misinterpreted that.
I don't think we have any maps where bosses will actively go after heroes, so this seems like it will be pretty unique. A continuation of Garden of Terror/Haunted Mines in that it's another "kill little dudes to get a big dude", but the added hero-targeting on the bosses makes it very different from the sounds of it.

Monk looks cool as does Artanis. Rexxar on the other hand can be really interesting or completely broken by kit from the start.
It's pretty clearly nothing like dragon shire from the videos/description. 3 shrines, each shrine you win summons you a non player controlled boss which pushes/kills people. I hope they all activate at the same time to force you to try and win 2/3.
Kharazim can choose from 3 different Traits at level one, Iron Fists which boost his attack damage, Transcendence which heals him through melee combat or Insight which allows him to restore his mana. His abilities are the following:
Radiant Dash (Q) - quickly teleport to a friendly or enemy Hero. (seems to have multiple charges) Breath of Heaven (W) - heals Kharazim and other nearby heroes. (seems to boost their movement speed as well, but could be a specific talent) Deadly Reach (E) - extends his attack range and deals bonus damage on attacks. Seven-Sided Strike (R1) - becomes untargetable and lands 7 attacks on nearby enemies. (likely prioritizes Heroes) Divine Palm (R2) - puts an allied hero in Stasis (invulnerable) and greatly heals them if their HP is depleted during that.
Rexxar - Abilities Preview
Rexxar will be a unique ranged Warrior, and will be aided by Misha in battle. She is capable of tanking damage, constantly harass enemies and be improved by specific talents. Cannot be controlled separately, and attacks whoever you are attacking. If she dies, she will automatically come back after a while. His abilities are the following:
Spirit Swoop (Q) - summons a Hawk in a straight line that slows enemies hit. Misha, Charge! (W) - Misha charges towards a location, stunning enemies hit. Mend Pet (E) - heals Rexxar and Misha (if she's nearby) Bestial Wrath (R1) - greatly boost Misha's fighting capabilities. Unleash the Boars (R2) - summons boars that charge towards enemy Heroes, greatly slowing them on impact, and revealing them.
Rexxar Talents
We also managed to find out some Rexxar talents. Check them out!
Level 1
Grizzled Bear - Misha periodically reduces damage from enemy heroes. Hunter Gatherer - gather regen globes to increase Health Regen. (unsure if it affects Misha) Survivalistic Training - gather regen globes to increase Mana Regen. Flare - gain vision of an area
Level 4
Hungry Bear - Misha's basic attacks heal her. Crippling Talons - increase Spirit Swoop slow amount and duration. Taking Flight - increase Spirit Swoop range, returns mana. Easy Prey - Misha is more effective against Minions and Mercs.
Level 10
Bestial Wrath - increase Misha's basic attack damage. Unleash the Boars - send a pack of Boars to hunt enemy heroes.
Level 13
Wildfire Bear - Misha deals damage to nearby enemies. Thrill of the Hunt - basic attacks increase move speed. Bear Necessities - Cast "Misha, Charge!" again if you don't hit a Hero. Barkskin - Misha takes reduced ability damage after charging.
Level 20
Spirit Bond - increase Bestial Wrath duration and Misha heals Rexxar with her attacks. Kill Command - Unleash the Boars deals more damage and roots enemies. Frenzy of Kalimdor - your Basic Attacks deal more damage and Misha's attacks slow. Hardened Skin - you and Misha take reduced damage.
I got enough of Diablo shit. I hope there are enough D3 fans out there that love the idea. I mean I'm fine with heroes, but in terms of maps? Please, no more Diablo. More Starcraft!
Rexxar looks really interesting. New meaning to face Hunter too =p. Btw Inreqd elsewhere that his trait allows you to call Misha back. So you have limited control over her. I also assume Hinter Gatherer isn't just regen master and will boost Misha's healing too.
Really excited for the Monk as that was my main from vanilla D3. I hope you can spec him into more damage to recapture that feeling. Was also hoping his trait / level 1 talent would be auras but that doesn't look to be the case.

I think it looks great, because there are 3 shrines (posibily 3 bosses?) with different cool afixes and they actually target heroes, which is a cool twist.
Funnily enough, Infernal Shrines is actually the first Diablo Battle ground they were working on it seems. As you can see, the art they revealed at Blizzcon 2014 is from this map, and not from eternal conflict.

There are 3 different bosses. One is arcane enchanted, one has mortars and one is cold enchanted (if you're not a D3 player and don't know what that means, whatch the video on the official announcement. They show the effects.)

New content will be released in waves around a theme. Currently it's the "Eternal Conflict" which is Diablo 3 themed. The next one will be centered on Starcraft, with Artanis probably being the first piece of that.
I really can't wait to see a SC themed map. Hopefully it's more like the orbiting space stations and less like the jungles of Aiur (because really, those look like anywhere).

At first I thought well SC hero warrior will be release only when the game is released (thus the pre-order bonus for LoTV) but then, after today, I'm not so sure.
I assume the expansion will only be out latter this year, around November or even only in Christmas maybe? But from Blizzard's desired cycle (and being applied since KT I think), with 3 weeks between heroes, even if Rexxar comes before Artanis, that would leave Artanis late in September.
Hell, even if they use the map as part of the launch cycle, Artanis would come in October.
Sure they may lag the hero releases between Eternal Conflict and the next SC theme...but if they follow the trend either LoTV is being released earlier than I thought, or Artanis will be released way ahead of the game.
But after writing all this...I get back to earth and realistically imagine Monk next week, Rexxar 3 weeks later, then 3 weeks later the new map and then a break until LoTV and all the associated content

The Monk is a beast in QM mode. You can check whats needed and basically play all 3 roles: DD, tank or heal. This will change the drafting in Pro matches as well i guess, cause the enemy will have no idea what you are going to do with the monk. love the versatility
Having played him, I don't think the Monk is that much of a beast. As usual, a lot of people won't bother looking into him so they'll play horribly against Khazarim and cry wolf, but he's just a solid addition to a team without being a monster. He is very versatile, though, I agree with that!
I don't think the Monk will have a big advantage in QM because, afaik, he counts as support, so you won't get another support on your team, which means you almost always have to go support yourself. Basically how Tyrande plays in QM.

Yes, this is my feeling too. I love Eternal Conflict so far, can't wait for the SC event. And, as you point out, it's likely that Artanis will be the first hero released in that event.
Arcane enchanted boss from the new map legitimately makes me worried that the boss will be OP for the first time in Heroes since alpha. Arcane enchanted mobs in D3 are the stuff of nightmares.
Monk looks great, but I'm worried he'll end up being just another hybrid support based on his role in D3. Maybe more hybrid supports are needed to make them a significant part of the game, but they feel a little underwhelming atm.
Rexxar is possibly my favorite WC character ever, so I'm hyped about him coming into Heroes. Also worried though that he may be like the Lost Vikings in that his kit will be a very difficult one to balance. I'm concerned that he'll be way too much and then get nerfed into oblivion like TLV, but we'll see.

Just for sentimental value, I'm planning on picking up leoric so I can entomb right when arcane enchanted hits.

In before Blood Bath or BGH, somehow. lol.
B. G. H.

Bring on the feels, Blizzard. Give us BGH.
Or, alternatively, how about some of the awful maps from early WoL and/or SC1?

Do not bring this evil into existence. DO NOT EVEN SPEAK IT

Scrap station, same side spawns with destructible rocks that respawn on a timer and can fall on enemies. Boss at the gold, Xel naga Tower at the turn, Single lane would be a problem though, maybe mirror the other side so it would be as though there were gold bases to the left and the right of the main bases.
I would do anything to see Desert Oasis in HotS somehow. Something weird like the cores are close together in the center of the map, but the lanes circle around them on the outside so the walking distances are really long. My favorite SC2 map of all time, hands down. :D
Dustin Browder just talked on stream about the SC2 Medic as a support hero coming up, with Medivac as ult it seems (have your team jump Falstad like over large distances). Has me a lot more hyped than Monk, Rexxar, Artanis to be honest

That actually sounds so amazing.
She better throw blinding grenades too. I wonder if she'll have some watered down form of cleanse/relentless to handout too (not an exact analog to the remove parasite thing).
•Talked about Kharazim's characteristics and abilities - very high skill cap character •Maps with choke-points work in Monk's advantage since he can avoid enemies' skillshots with his mobility •Rexxar - can direct Misha by attacking enemies •He's all about working with Misha - gameplay similar to a WoW Hunter •Bosses on other battlegrounds are all about pushing - the Punisher has a strong focus on Heroes •Heroes that have the ability to clean up minions quickly can cap Shrines quicker •Medic Hero incoming - focused on single target healing, can use Grenades to "disrupt" the battlefield •Need more Support heroes - that's why they're adding her •Has a Medivac Dropship - unique UI - allows you to reposition the Medic and other Heroes across the battlefield •Changes to Ranked Play Mode coming on the next patch! •More transparency on Ranks x MMR. •With placement matches (20 to 25), they'll determine the rough MMR and Rank, and then show it afterwards •1-4 players party on Hero League •Team League will be like a 5-man Hero League •It's a work in progress System - they're always open for feedback! And not ashamed of changing the system •They're gonna be in Pre-Season while they test these changes to the system - it's important they get it right before the first Season •Also want a Grandmaster Rank before going into the first Season •Confirmed once again that they're trying to keep 3-4 week between Heroes •Infernal Shrines and Monk are coming very soon! If everything goes as planned PTR should be up on MONDAY! •Fix for Bundles - if you already purchased something on a bundle it's gonna have a discount. Called Dynamic Bundles •They are looking to see if it's possible for it to be retroactive (for players who bought bundles and already had itens)
