1st Game: Nova + Zeratul duo, enemy counters, we lose. 2nd Game: The 2 last picks say "We can't support" and pick two assassins instead of support and tank. We lose. 3rd Game: Enemy takes Illidan, I ask our support if he can play BW, he picks BW, can't play her. We lose. 4th Game: Two silenced players on our team. Both of them die a lot. We lose. 5th Game: Gazlowe. We can't kill anything due to lack of damage. We lose. Now last game of the day, picks: Kerrigan (Gazlowe of previous game, talks russian in chat) Thrall Rehgar (me) Kharazim Dehaka EDIT: Nothing dies, everyone constantly clumps up and dies to AoE. We lose. 2 hours past when I wanted to go offline, but I just wanted to end on a win -.- | ||

I pick Artanis. When the first objective starts, I ping retreat several times. Yet my team goes 4v5. Why the hell do they do that, where is their brain? If someone doesnt show up to an objective i bloody hell doesnt go 4v5 unless it super lategame perhaps. | ||

Every single time I QM and a team has 2 supports vs 1 support, the 2 supports team get crushed. Blizzard need to fix this. I'm ok with stupid compositions, but at least they have to mirror. And take into account the frontlines. Supports without front are almost useless, and Abathur without frontline is a joke. Or when the teams are balanced, but they have 2 or 3 hard counters to your heroes. Again, I'm OK with QM's randomness, but these days half of these games are not even playable. | ||

Seems to me that Blizzard devs have no idea what they are doing with the game. I can't remember if there was a game which had so many bad design decisions and required so many reworks in my entire life. They used SC2 matchmaking for hots (which was dumb) they reworked it and it's still bad. It took them like centuries to add bans to HL and TL, how long until they remove (or rework) that pathetic QM? How long untill they replace ranks with leagues? Li ming is supposed to be a high skill hero ( her Orb is so large it takes almost half of the screen? Hots has really low popularity on Twich which is IMO not relevant but it means something. I'm really not optimistic about hots future. | ||

Now with Bans i thought i had to give it a shot again. After some succes climbing from Rank 6 (my "Standard") to 3 I am now Rank 12 and falling cause teammates get worse and i start tilting. Now, i don't have anything against Russia or Russians or Vodka but pls get those ppl their own servers...PLEEEASE!!! + Show Spoiler + MOTHERFUCKING GODDAMN FUCKTWATS Over half of the ppl with kyrilic names are muted... strange isn't it? NO On another note, i started smurfing and this made the game actually fun again. Going in a 1v3 with Raynor and winning is awesome! | ||

Then, I made the gravest mistake I ever made. I got a new friend of mine into the game and when we was able to go into HL, he wanted me to help him learn how to properly draft. Sure enough, him rank 40, me rank 1. I warned him we might get some wonky matchmaking, but he was fine with it. Had a background in League, so I trusted he could keep up. We play for a couple of days, he ranks up rapidly, I derank a bit. We had a winrate of exactly 50%, somehow. He thanks me, and we go out merry ways. What happened after is the biggest bullshit I've ever seen in this fucking game. I kid you not, I've been going 6 wins and 19 losses since I played again solo, or with my other Rank 1 buddy. I have only been deranking ever since I played with my friend. And not just deranking in good games. I could live with that. No. The biggest fucking morons that play the game are constantly on my team. I can summarize the past few losses. - Luke the Thrall. Didn't like the draft where two of our teammates picked Zeratul and Greymane after we had a Thrall. Well... It's a rough comp, but we can manage, right? I filled the draft with Tyrael, who I thought could support them somewhat in the frontline, and my friend got Morales to stimdrone, cus Rehgar, Uther and Kharazim were gone. Thrall didn't like composition. Thrall went 0-8 within the first 10 minutes. GGWP. - Sonnenwalzer The Butcher. He picked Butcher after showing Valla for the longest time. We had a fun comp of Tass/Tyrande/Johanna(me)/Xul/Valla. Which then became Butcher. Butcher used the infamous Savage Charge > Furnace Blast combo. Every.Single.Fight. To engage with. Then he flamed me for not peeling. Then he flamed the 2 supports for not keeping him alive. DUDE. STOP FUCKING CHARGING INTO 5v1S WITH CC?! Then he went afk to look at my profile on Hotslogs. Lol rank 5 900 game retard can't ever win. He proceeded to spam this all game long, until we died. - Loathing, the Kael'thas. We had a fun composition, somewhat cheesy with double stealth, but hey, that can work on Black Hearts Bay like none other. However, Loathing didn't like draft. Despite the two stealthies literally asking in draft whether the team was okay with this, and him ignoring the question, he started the game with "gg, fuckers cost me all my mmr. im going afk". And he didn't just afk. He stood in top lane, next to minion wave, all game long. Auto attacking whenever the message must have come up. 23 minutes of just standing there, paying attention, doing your best not to participate. It was so bad, our opponents messaged us after that they were sorry and that they reported him as well. - Skiffon, the Gazlowe. After showing Jaina on draft, he picked Gazlowe the last second. Sure, I'm not too happy with that, but well. Let's try it. Gazlowe proceeds to go for the epic hardpush a lane strategy, dieing a million times in the process. Making sure to blame his team of every time it happened "warn me if they come idiots". You may think I am exaggerating. I kid you not - these are the last 4 losses I had (I had 1 win in between, yay). I've got the replays, but I don't think sharing them is according the rules. So here I am, deranking like mad, losing almost every game I played because matchmaker fucks me over. Those are the most frustrating losses - when you lose due to a teammate being salty and getting a kick our of griefing his teammates. And they constantly happen like this. I thought it was just bad luck, but seriously, last week, not even 25% of my games were 'legit' losses due to the enemy team being better. And it is ridiculous. I am completely fed up with it, I don't want to play anymore. My QM MMR was already shit due to playing too much wonky shit and trying to have a varied hero pool, now my HL MMR is apparantly fucked up beyond all recognition as well, because I GOT A FUCKING FRIEND OF MINE INTO DRAFTING. IMPLEMENT UNRANKED DRAFT PLEASE?! So... What do I do now? I can't play with my bad friend, because things might get bad. My HLR1 friend and I figured out that the chance of morons in our team is higher if we queue together due to his MMR being much higher now (he always gets to ban) and matchmaker compensating by giving us a weaker team. Solo playing HL apparantly doesn't work either. Did I get punished for playing more than 5 heroes and trying out stuff in QM and getting friends to understand drafting by being in MMR hell in both QM and HL? Seriously, it is retarded and I am so fed up with this.... Sigh... Help? | ||

SC2Toastie: I'd say, if you want to play with a friend, get a new account, get to 14 heroes in 3 days or so, and play HL with whoever you like without caring too much about rank. Nothing good can happen when r1 and r40 queue together. The rest is just bad luck, I also got terrible losing streaks, and chained games with idiots, but it always balances in the end. Provided you do what's required to break the streak. 1st thing is to communicate from draft, and try to put a nice atmosphere. Emoticons everywhere, no agressive talking or banning Zeratul because the guy last pick has it pre-selected. Ping (without spam) on the map when you feel someone has to notice something. Try to care about them even if you want to slap them. That's why I only play ETC these days, I really can help clueless allies, and I get to decide if we dive or if I peel. In the end, you'll win more than lose, because the moron cannot always be with you. I got my share of idiots, but today I got 1 (Lunara), and the opponents got 1 (Muradin), so it was even. (out of 3 games, these were auto wins / auto losses) As I said, we just had an opponent Muradin who threw the game from the 10th minute mark because we were ahead of them. So he just didn't care and probably left. (Couldn't confirm it was an AI player (because his name was still the player's name) but I felt sorry for their team. Forgot to report him. :-( Don't fall below rank 8-10 because it's hell down there. Everyone feels they're the strongest in the universe and it's painful. But again, being nice in draft is the best thing you can do. I'm your newest Rank 6 member by the way, and am down to losing a rank every game I play. The pace is probably the most concerning thing. I'll lose rank every second loss, but I gain rank for 4/5 wins...? Wut? Can 10-15 low MMR losses fuck with 200 high MMR wins that badly? Lol. It's pathetic. Nothing good can happen when r1 and r40 queue together. Then it should either be prohibited, there should be unranked draft alternatives, or it shouldn't affect my mmr so drastically that I can only cross fingers and roll the "who's got the retard" dice. By the way, you mention: I got my share of idiots, but today I got 1 (Lunara), and the opponents got 1 (Muradin), so it was even. (out of 3 games, these were auto wins / auto losses) I consider that a really bad day of games, as only one game was a fun and close game, apparantly. | ||

Gaining and losing ranks should be 3 games all the time, unless your MMR is unstable. It seems you really messed with the MMR gods and now they are angry. I think you should get a secondary account because, even if it's unfair, you won't change the matchmaking's rules. And you won't change the fact that you'll often have idiots with you, especially if you have a low ranked friend in your team. My problem right now is that I don't see me playing anything else than ETC on my main account. He's idiot-proof, and "I don't play warrior"-proof. It removes 2 big auto lose factors so in the long run I win more than I lose. I agree that it wasn't a very good day of gaming, but TBH right now I'm focused only on getting my r1 back (r2 right now) so I gladly accept these free wins. Even if it sucks. Even if this streak is unfair, you need to change your mentality to break the streak. Prove Blizzard you can win a few games and they'll fix your MMR. Take a smurf account, warm up, cheer up, win a few HL games and get yourself back in the game. | ||

Sigh. Well. It should stabilize me eventually? I went to R1 in one smooth ride with a small bumb at R12 (was testing some new heroes in HL - don't, you're a jerk if you do it). Maybe it puts way more weight on recent games, in which there is quite a couple of losses at really low MMR. On the other hand, it should understand that I don't belong in those games, right? It's messed up. I'm not going for a new account though, I've got skins and stuff and a full collection (bar Gaz/Tych/Stitch, haha) I worked hard for... if I have to put that all to waste because Blizzard can't design a proper matchmaker... That's be silly. | ||

It do suck, really. I have been rank1 many times before. Lasted maybe 10games at most, then i got deranked. Sometimes i got deranked to lvl 12, then i bounced back. This happened several times for me. Right now iam rank 1 and has been for several months. And i play alot of games usually. With a good discipline, good attitude and adapting in drafts while you have the skill you should become rank 1 sooner or later. Especially if you were there before and it lasted. | ||

I've been sticking to QM for longer than usual, the few HL games I played were a lot more toxic for no real reason. Had a game where Arthas was raging on Jaina, Jaina was raging on Falstad and Falstad was raging on Arthas. For the most part they all just kept dying solo and hating on each other for it. We barely had a real 5v5 teamfight the entire game. I was playing the support and mostly kept quiet (more play less type!) and somehow avoided all the hate even when an Ancestral didn't land in time. Guess they didn't want to alienate the healer or something. | ||
