This is extremely funny to me. I remember Idra hating on MOBAs hardcore a couple years ago.

Thats the only thing you can find of him from "a couple years ago" where he talks about these kind of games.

Hmm..I thought it was more like IdrA just thought those types of games weren't for him since he thought he'd just rage at his teammates.

I know this is the reason why I don't play MOBAs--I can only imagine the suck for IdrA's teammates and their ears.

I don't think I've actually heard him rage, which is...a bit weird.
I'm sure his opponents would get an eyeful if there was actually all chat, though.

quality of competition isn't high enough for the rage to set in yet

this has to be the work of the illuminati or something
Now we just wait for fnatic vs EG finals where naniwa and idra both walk out of the booth early

People need to realize that EG actually liked IdrA and they didn't want to fire him. It only was because of the sponsor, because as they've said many times, IdrA is "part of the family" and you inmediately asociate IdrA with EG.
So now that IdrA started playing heroes, formed a very good team which is one of the best right now, and Blizzard invited EG to a showmatch in Blizzcon, and IdrA appear much more calmer, it weas obvious they were going to look for him.
Probably they told the sponsors the same thing they are saying righ now to us: "he is much calmer, he likes the game and didn't like sc2" which all of that appears to be true, so they probably said "lets try going to BlizzCon and see how it goes, if it goes good maybe we will have a permanennt heroes team, if it goes bad/no one watch its/IdrA rages, we won't have a heroes team/won't have IdrA in it".
So i would wait to see how it goes after Blizzcon.

Why is this under community news?

Well it fits neither featured nor liquid team news.

So IdrA will get killed in lane and rage quit?

I don't really mind I just think it is kinda wishy washy from the EG management. Do you not want him representing you and your team like you said when you cut him abruptly? They probably never wanted to let go of such a valuable asset. They just needed (a lot of) right conditions:
[ X ] Long period of separation [ X ] Idra's continued popularity (core fans and other viewers that follow him) [ X ] New partnership opportunity (rise of Heroes of the Storm + Idra's rise as a top beta player) [ X ] Idra+ (toned down just enough to meet EG and sponsors' threshold)

Same. The sharp tongue without the condemnation.

I was lucky enough to play a game with him and some mutual friends. When he's with friends and even a newbie like me; he was and always will be a pretty likable guy and pretty much a straight arrow. I would ask some pretty basic things about the game and they (him and his friends) would explain it and even walk me through how to level my hero properly, etc.
It helps that there's no all chat, but the game is also much different in terms of atmosphere and approach.

I don't get why EG keeps paying this guy money, I guess the kids who love his douche bag attitude in SC2 are the ones who buy the tshirts.

Because he is going to bring in tens of thousands of viewers who don't give a damn about HOTS but want to see their favorite personality on stream again.
I bet this project wouldn't have even happened without him.

This would have been super awkward if Sheth had stayed with Snowflake. Seeing him in an EG jersey would have been strange and scary.

You don't realize that you're just fueling his value as much as the other guys right? You're creating discussion, discussion equals exposure, exposure equals money.
Bitch and moan all you want, IdrA is a personality that brings in money in one way or another. It's not about T-Shirts, being someone people talk about is incredibly valuable. Some people base entire careers on top of that, and IdrA has the skill to certainly mix it up a bit.
