He was released beause of the accumulation of toxic behaviour, not that one instance. The Idra in that video looks almost like a new person, and I think we can attribute a good portion of his aggressive behaviour during the Sc2 to the fact that he never liked the game. If he's mellowed out a bit and genuinely likes HotS, he's still a big name and a solid draw. This makes perfect sense for EG, they can get one of their marque players back without having him associated with their Sc2 division, it's like a win-win for them.

Because he's on the same team he was on before and said the same thing he's said for ages? Also the first thing IdrA did when he quit SC2 was to start DotA2, so I'd say he does enjoy these kind of games.

Now I really wish I had a Heroes invite, its hard to understand a tournament without playing the game.. but it looks interesting.

In the JP interview, he actually acknowledged that EG did a good move in firing him, and has always admitted that he was kinda a douchebag in Sc2. This actually seemed like a very typical Idra interview. The only PR move that I saw here was EG claiming that Idra seemed more calm, and thus indicating that he had matured.

So they could now do a PR for Heroes, typical Moba turns you into a raging bunny, Heroes turns everyone into a team player. Parents all over the world would only allow their children to play Heroes haha. Sorry had to get that out of my mind...

Amusing, yes, but that hardly justifies calling him a sellout. PR is all part of eSports, everywhere...

Idra has spent his entire SC2 career doing nothing but slating the SC2 team (who funnily enough are now the Heroes team) but yet now that he needs to gain from it and push the game into a competitive direction he's all "i love the team and the game". It's just amusing is all From my perspective, the development has made many of the same "errors" as in Sc2. From a competitive play the issue I have with sc2 is that micro in many situations isn't really rewarded. Roach vs Roach = a-move. Protoss deathball = Almost a-move. It's not that the players are bad, but just that the unit-design is so bad that micro isn't rewarded. The only instance where "real" micro is rewarded is Marines vs Banelings, which Dustin Browder later has admitted wasn't an interaction that was intended, but just came out of pure luck. But if you only rely on "luck" to create interaction, then most of the interactions are gonna be pretty bad. Riot is completley unlike that, it's very easy to see that they spend a lot of time tweaking the stats of all the champions in order to make sure that "micro"/mechanics are rewarded. This is why you can go to the reddit frontpage on a daily basis and watch sick plays by high level players. For Heroes of the Storm, you will never be able to see "plays" as the development team hasn't spend time tweaking the stats in order to get the best types of interactions. Instead, it's clear that the majority of their focus is on map design and adding lore-based champions. I don't believe it's intended design that the skill-cap of champions is so low, because you can still have a very low learning barrier while having "difficult to master" champions.

It's just amusing is all A possible factor here could be that HotS and Sc2 are completely different games with almost nothing in common other than the IP. It's like saying someone is a sellout for liking Warcraft 3 but not WoW.

I don't really mind I just think it is kinda wishy washy from the EG management. Do you not want him representing you and your team like you said when you cut him abruptly? Oh well congrats to all of them and best of luck! I imagine we won't have similar Idra behavior these days.
