At the end both teams were pitted against the boss in a 10v1 raidboss kinda battle thing. So no the idea of quests in a moba isn't new.

I'm really not sold on HotS not having a shop and the game objectives being designed to end the game near the 20 minute mark.

Will be interesting to see how gameplay works out once we've actually had a chance to play. http://youtu.be/EnhI_JotfcY this kind of explains why Blizzard could barely scrape together a handful of new art assets for SC2HOTS, while Valve churned out an insane amount of content for Dota2 in the same period. Even so, it doesn't look competitive with Dota 2 visually, in my opinion.. it looks closer to LOL, with bad, jerky animations, flat lighting and no real differentiation between the spell effects (particle fx actually look really ugly, from what they've shown so far) But this is all you can reasonably expect when you have hacks like Sam Didier and Browder in charge of the project Also, they're claiming they've concentrated the genre down to its "most fun elements." Considering how bad Browder has proven to be at understanding a genre and what's fun about it, this claim is pretty much worthless. All they're doing is flattening out strategic depth.. The only thing I'm seeing as someting of a positive is that they have different maps, though I dislike that they're making each map around a specific objective (it seems like a version of Unreal Tournament's assault mode in a way.. a mode with no strategic legs, but fun for a few games, because of the novetly of the map). But considering how horrible the Blizzard SC2 maps have been, I have no real faith in their abilities there either On November 09 2013 05:26 AM wrote: I find it kinda amusing that every company has its own name for the genre.
