with the patch there is an additional gold bonus on hero level 15 and 20 (I think 1500 and 2000 Gold). Also, player levels 20, 30 and 40 also award gold.
Edit: Here are the correct numbers
Progression SystemHero Progression- The maximum Hero Level has been increased from 10 to 20.
- New rewards have been added:
- 1250 Gold at Hero Level 15
- 2500 Gold at Hero Level 20
Player Progression New rewards have been added: - 7 Day Stimpack at Player Level 10
- 2,000 Gold at Player Levels 20, 25, 30, 35, 40
- Team League unlocked at Player Level 40
Players who had already reached or surpassed the level requirement for these rewards prior to today’s patch will also receive them upon logging in to Heroes of the Storm.

My level isn't high enough yet for hero league or team league, but do you get more gold per game in those types than in quick match and cooperative? I'm doing the daily quests, I have a stimpack, and I've been leveling each hero up to level 5 (gold bonus) since I want to try out each hero anyway (and level 5 is hit after about only 4 games with stimpack, so it's not that big a deal).
You basically have it. QM is a little more than coop (because of the win game bonus) but both are fairly insignificant compared to what you'll earn in daily quests and the burst you can get from getting everything to five.

Awesome Thanks guys!

i love the new murky: got these stats in a random nooby quickmatch on my 4th game ever playing murky. Just bought it today and i was hoping so badly that i wouldn't regret it for not getting lost vikings/sylvanas instead. So far it's just hilarious. + Show Spoiler +

I really, really like the new ultimate evolution on Abathur. Those clones hit like a truck. I'm thinking that I'm going to skip hivemind from here on out and stick with ultimate evolution on 20 for the added support on a carry.

Bought Abby last night and went with a shield/regen build. It requires constant map awareness and identifying how is low on health/ in battle. Casting Locust strain at lvl 20 and having it on two heroes at once is so sick too.

Tychus, Nazeebo, Diablo ? Diablo or Tychus depending upon whether you need a tank or more DPS.

My general thought on buying heroes is fill all critical roles first, then get a backup for each role (e.g. definitely do not roll with just one or two supports). Afterwards, get whatever looks interesting. Hence, if you need a tank, get Diablo. If you need a DPS, get Tychus. If you're good to go on all roles, then take whatever hero better suits your playstyle. Like tanks? Diablo. Like ranged DPS? Tychus.
Beyond all of that, Tychus is the better hero overall, and he's also cheaper. So take him.

I'm abysmal at Murky. Are there any video guides on how to play this guy? I'm talking like I do 23k hero damage at the end of the game. Should I really just suicide in to perform my rotation?

You wouldn't think this would happen, but I've been in more than one game where a player on our team announces he's going support and preselects his character. Rest of the team picks along...other team picks his healer choice and he's last pick and...has no other support.
Such good advice.
I bought my first 10 characters as 3 warrior, 3 support, 3 assasins, and 1 specialist and that will do you for starting out in hero league. Since I have purchased 1 more warrior, support, and assassin and now I just wonder what to do with 25k gold...maybe Sylvanas at 10k...
|
Yeah, when hero league came out, the first thing I did was buy a bunch of supports because I knew how important they would be. The only ones that I don't have are Lili and Tyrande. Minimally, you should get 3 supports and 3 warriors/tanks before doing hero league. You can plug rest of your roster with whatever else you want, because people always have assassins/damage dealers.

I'm only level 12 so far and I own ETC, Lili, Muradin, Arthas, Gazol (such a bad buy I regret) and now I'll buy Tychus.

Gazlowe is far from a bad buy. Level him to 4 and tinker around with his talents. He can solo push lanes and easily get to tier 3 by himself early stages.

I bought Sylvanas because I randomly had 16k after the last patch. She's actually a lot of fun but very difficult to maximize her value and I'm not sure about the most efficient skill order (she can go all in on pushing/counterpushing or on hero fighting, but I've been looking for the middle ground). That and Jaina got all the buffs she needed and is now both very fun AND very powerful.

Wish this wasn't p2w :/ No reason to give it much more of a go than the three free heroes/week because I already have DotA

Certain heroes are OP and you're required to spend real money to get them or? Not sure what in-game advantage you can get other than owning every hero so you can roll with whatever the flavor of the week is.
