They'll probably release a bunch at release, don't you think? At least I hope so. (even though I have plenty of heroes to play, and I haven't even mastered one of them)
(although who's the D3 support I wonder?)
My boy Cain
Cain would be a pretty terrible hero. He'd lose a melee combat to Abathur.
He could... ehm... identify characters weaknesses and uhm... pass it along and eh... lull people to sleep with his stories.
I have a cool idea for Deckard Cain skill kit though.
Just like abathur, he can stay in town or on the map with similar movement speed as abathur. Most likely town due to his weakness in the beginning, but he should be nearby battles to help out.
He acts as another mana/health pool. He can be carried by other heroes. Heroes getting hit would drop him. Similar mechanics to mounts.
If he stands still he can become invisible. If he is killed, he becomes encased in cage and the enemy team has to drag the cage behind town(amount of distance away from enemy team) to actually kill him. cage can be dropped/carried and he will be free without dying if nobody picks him up after a certain time. cage gives -movement speed
One of his abilities is like a D3 shrine where you can be god mode or + attack speed or unstunnable or + ability power or fast movement speed. He can set himself to different shrine settings and players would actually have to go to him to get it instead of him casting things on people like typical supports. If he is carried, his shrine ability only buffs the player holding cain, faster cooldown if held.
his quest skills can give buffs to heroes when they kill minions/mercenaries/heroes/buildings. There would be a counter for how much minions/mercenaries/heroes/buildings are killed and once heroes complete quests, they get bonuses. cain decides which quest they do
He has a lot of vision/ward abilities.
has ranged silence. <- something to keep him busy. (BUT I wouldnt mind a hero that doesnt do anything but walk around. remember, blizzard wants to try out of the box ideas)
I like the Cain "global silence" idea, with voice clip "Listen!"
He also obviously needs an aoe melee range root with voice clip "Stay awhile!"
I think his gimmick should be items. Not like traditional moba equippable items, a little different. If Cain is nearby when a merc dies, it has a chance to drop a random item that any hero, friend or enemy, can walk over and equip for a little bit of +damage or +armor or +attack speed or +movespeed. These items would stack, and they are destroyed if the hero carrying them dies. Cain could get talents to improve the quality of the drops for bigger numbers or proc effects.

Half of the post doesn't make sense. Gutting Diablo 3's team to make a "secret project" set in the SC universe, what? Senior executive being laid off over HotS' supposedly poor forecast success? That's literally unbelievable. I don't think Blizzard is the type of company to lay off senior employees for such trivial reasons. That is such a clickbait thing to say.
Am I the only one that actually finds the Overwatch release date a bit... optimistic? That's like... 10 months from now. I always imagined it would be much longer before its release.
Diablo 3's beta started in like September 2011 and the game released in May 2012. SC2's beta started in February 2010 and the game released in July. Heart of the Swarm's beta started in September 2012 and released March 2013.
Most of their games have a 5-6 month beta testing phase. Considering Overwatch is a totally new IP and genre from Blizzard, I'd be really surprised if the beta phase wasn't on the longer side. That means we should be getting closed beta in ~4 months. Seems unexpectedly soon. It also means that the next Blizzcon will probably be hyping Overwatch's upcoming release.

A game in beta these days might as well be called release.
one thing to know the leak is fake is that Blizzard didn't fire jay wilson after d3, hes still working at blizz, so why the fuck would they fire people on hots? lol
Also yeah, i agree that kormac and the other guy... the archer, could be very cool. altough the bowmen is less probable cause there is valla, he would be cool because all of his phrases, imagin him trying to seduce kerrigan or nova lol.

Especially a f2p game (and the fact that Blizzard has Founders Packs up for sale at Gamestop kinda underscores this point.

I was thinking the same thing. Blizzard is pretty loyal to their employees, HotS would have to actually come out first before they start axing people no? I feel like this leak (if valid) is just someone without that much actual insight but is aware of the company rumors floating around.
Edit: like the Overwatch announcement prediction, just about anyone at Blizzard would know that stuff ahead of time just being around the office. Especially since it the announcement was at Blizzcon not some random date.
First two games 4v5, third game everyone's around but I'm the only one higher than lvl 10 and the team plays accordingly newbish (eg. our two tanks pushing lanes instead of collecting skulls, despite this being golem #3 so they damn well should know how the map works).
I was probably more on tilt than I'd like to admit as when I finally got into real matches/teams I still played like crap.
And this is the second time the system has put me on a team without tanks against a team with 3 tanks... ya it looks good early but late game you just can't stay alive long enough to kill anything.
Edit: ok, finally played a good game, washes the bad start out a bit. Amazingly I actually went 4-1 after that awful start to my night.

I play almost all my games solo queue, and I wouldn't say that it's unplayable. There will be stretches where you get one team of assclowns after another, but there will also be stretches were you get a lot of competent teams. Once you're good enough, there's no reason that you won't be able to carry most of your teams to victory and get to the highest ranks.
The game can be pretty wretched solo, especially when you match with whole teams who make absurd decisions. Either you have to just ignore the absolute horrible team strategy and go with the flow and enjoy other parts of the game, or you have to take charge. But caring about team strategy and not doing anything about it is definitely miserable. The teams I get matched with have essentially no concept of trading. Every single decision is "group and contest." Blackheart's Bay: enemy team is higher level and has been winning team fights, the boss at the top and bruiser mercs at the bottom are both uncapped, enemy team is near boss, my team is near bruisers. 95% of my teams run across the map just in time to see the boss capped, trickle in and die. And if you don't follow them, you get criticized. These types of non-decisions are made constantly and are seen as the proper way to play -- "it's a team game" and "you have to actually do the objectives" being the mantras justifying the brainlessness. You gotta rise above it or learn to lead every game or just not care. Or queue with friends.
Personally I've carved out some fun from solo queuing nonetheless. But it very easily can slip into misery.
Frankly, the easiest way to manage a team full of newbs is to play a hero that can pick off enemy heroes. Stitches, Zeratul, Nova, Kerrigan, Thrall etc. If you can turn the game into a perpetual 5v4, you're going to win. At lower levels, it is really easy to pick players off because they are always out of position.

The thing is, the game encourages you to grind games mindlessly (for example play 8 games), so naturally people are going to play and do other things on the side..
