Here we are, on a website dedicated to a Blizzard game, having gotten thousands of hours of enjoyment from Blizzard games, and we're complaining about them?
"Wahh, their third installment of one of the best RPG series of all time wasn't exactly like the second one!" "Wahh, they slightly changed a game so popular that it created an entire industry!" "Wahh, now Blizzard is shifting some of their focus to people who aren't exactly like me!"
Grow up dudes. I've gotten more entertainment per dollar from Blizzard than any other producer of games or movies. Not only does the company know what it's doing, and has proven itself time and again, but you're working yourselves into a frothy rage with almost nothing to go by. Play the game, then hate on it if you don't like it. Or, just don't play it. I think it's almost all driven by the Diablo III situation. Even in my small town it was an hour long line to buy this game, and I don't know a single person who kept playing it after a month. It cost a lot more than Diablo II did, and it had a tenth of the content. On top of that, they pretty much made the real life cash market the core of the game, taking a big chunk of every transaction. They basically turned a beloved and long desired sequel into an attempt to become paypal junior, and I think it's understandable that people refuse to forget that. Even after feeling entirely ripped off I would buy Warcraft IV anyway, unless I could tell it was a micro transaction shop on wheels from the trailer or beta. The problem with your statement is that the only people who continue to bitch about D3 are hardcore d3 players. The same people who *still* put in 30 hours a week, really complain a lot about the game. The rest of the community enjoyed it, and the game had a favorable reception in the gaming community as a whole. Did I keep playing after a month? No, because I'd leveled 2 characters to 60 and wasn't interested in grinding gear or money after that. All of my casual gamer friends feel the same way. The only friend I have that bitches about the game is a hardcore player who continues to play the game. For me, did I get my $100 of entertainment from the game? You bet I did. Lanning with friends for a few weekends in a row was absolutely worth it. I payed $60 and played about 100 hours on it before getting bored. To 99% of single player games out there, that's called a solid win. But to Blizz Doomsayers, the fact that you can't play it 6 days a week ala World of Warcraft means its a failure of a videogame. 6 days a week? You disgust me, filthy casual.
Laughing this loudly at work is dangerous, stop getting me in trouble!

I know, I love that they've committed to a long term working relationship. There's so much obvious love in Carbot's animations and it's unlike anything else I've seen in the gaming community.
There's no moronic internet injokes or lolspeak. No statement of noobs or pwning or anything. Just a simple love of the various interactions between units, the fun stuff that we make happen as players in game and really cute animations.

Whoa, I thought Carbot was a company, not just one dude. The animations are amazing - I showed them to a couple friends of mine (girls) and they thought it was so cute and interesting they gave watching WCS a chance!
Only problem is, now they all root for Zerg because those lings are so damn adorable.

Don't show them Jaedong then!

I'm one of those both disappointed with the name change and the choice of getting carbot to do the video announcement, but I'm hyped as fuck to play the game! I don't care how bad people make it seem to be. This will be the first moba I'll spend time on.
Imagine them actually giving blink to a siege tank hero.

It's a legitimate question (really) : "Do you care of the name of the game that you are playing ?" well you should ask: "Would you care of the name of the game you are planning to buy?" Would you not less likely buy some food you haven't tried but only seen others eating but with a really weird name? not saying you are wrong but a name does have its importance. I mean imagine starcraft is called something like "work of star" or something lol
I agree with you in theory, but think about Starcraft's name. That was easily the biggest cop-out name they've ever come up with. "Hey, we have this wildly popular game called warcraft, lets do the same thing, set it in space, and call it starcraft!" Warcraft is a physical idea. The art of making war, the craft of fighting, etc. Starcraft makes no sense in comparison.
I think that the only people complaining about the name are those who follow starcraft because "hots" is an acronym in that world right now.
And lets be fair, taking the name separately from everything else, "Heroes of the Storm" is not a bad name, no worse than DotA (which is really no longer "defense of the ancients" it's now simply "dota").

Ill play ... i love me some free games.

It's better than Blizzard All-Stars since people started to shortening it to "Balls"

Not to mention a title like "Blizzard's All Stars" will prevent them from adding non-blizzard heroes in the future. With a more bland name like "heroes" they can whatever unit/map design they'd like.

dunno i didnt quite like Hearthstone tbh compared to other CCG games. And Heroes of the Storm won't be better for than LoL nor Dota2 thats for sure. LoL is already very casual if thats your type so i dont see the point of playing this but ill probably test it as any other blizzard games.

What, you don't like the name? Big fucking deal. There's StarCraft 2 with its expansion, and this game, Heroes of the Storm. We don't need to speak in acronyms all the time.
I think people actually think the game is going to look like a Carbot video.
As hard as that is to believe, that's the best explanation for the kind of posts popping up in this thread.
Blizzard DoTA is an idea that goes back since before WoL even released. Why people expected Blizzard to just scrap it once LoL and DoTA 2 got popular is beyond me.

You make a lot of assumptions here. First of all, while you may not like Hearthstone, it's hard to argue with the fact that it's incredibly popular for a Closed Beta game, and is taking the CCG market by storm. Whether that lasts is hard to tell, but it was also a Blizzard game shortly after it was announced people were writing it off as a failure. With that in mind, saying that it definitely won't be better than LoL or Dota 2 is a bit of a leap.
Blizzard puts an extraordinary amount of polish on everything that they do, and it says a lot that Diablo 3 is one of the worst games they've ever put out and I still played it for 60 hours. If they're serious about doing this, and it looks like they are, expect it to be very solid. It will be hard to break into a market dominated by Dota and LoL, but not impossible, and if anyone can do it Blizzard can.

From what I remember though, Blizzard is planning to change things up. It'll still be "MOBA", but itll play differently.

HAHAHAHA, OH SHIT
Why change that!? That's amazing!

Anyway.
I don't like StarCraft 2, and I haven't tried Diablo III because it's not my type of game, but I will check out Heroes Of The Storm, aka BAllS.
I don't have any expectations, but it might be good! I'll give it an honest try.

Which is why I'm excited about previewing it at Blizzcon.
Their idea on mounts alone seemed intriguing enough to give the rest of the game a shot. We'll have to see how it works out.

Wait a minute... a Moba so big that you might need mounts to get places...
I'm having flashbacks of Arathi Highlands....
Although could you imagine a truly 3d Moba? Air units, burrow units, fighting in tunnels/topsoil/sky
