Dunno if /s as I just woke up, but ye I called this. They just had this ultra slow decks for the stream and suddenly everybody thought of a slow meta.
Opened 53 packs and got Rag, Cho and Hogger. I guess thats way above average so happy af atm. Wanted to craft Cho anyway and Hogger seems fine too. And Rag ? Well we see about him.
/e Hogger seems pretty nice first glance. Trades with Emperor and punishes C'thun really hard.

The 3/2 mage Cthun card is so scary even outside of Cthun decks

Ye seems pretty good. Not really new cards from what I've seen so far. Just the old face list with the new 7/7.
5-1 with Control Priest so far straight to Rank 4, but played 4 kinda slow Druids. Druid seems to run out of gas really fast now without AoL. And Hogger is a beast.

The Launch was a huge disappointment for me. First I had to torment myself with the Classic Warrior Deck Recipe trough the 9 wins to get my free packs. Then I faced a ton of new decks that were insanely strong. My second game was against a C´thun Priest and my first impression was that a lot of the new cards are really OP. I couldn´t get a foothold in that game, he was just removing everything I throwed at him all while buffing C´thun to ridicoulus levels (16/16). I just couldn´t stop him and barely did any damage to his hero.
Added him afterwards and asked what the Hell Blizz was thinking adding these cards. We had quite a nice conversation and he thought too that the new cards are OP. He also said that it was necessary to pre-order to keep up with the game.
Seems like a lot of people try the Deck Recipes. Faced Deathrattle Hunters and Rogues ( the latter i had a lot). The new Paladin Card that gives Divine Shield is stupid too in combo with Noble Sacrifice. I also had a insanely dumb game vs a Rogue that was at 2 Health (I had lethal next turn with Grommash) that beat me down from 17 HP due to Twilight Summoner triggering before + 2x Eviscerate. I can´t exactly remember that game and don´t want to but it was just stupid.
But the disappointment doesn´t stop there. From the 13 Packs I opened most of it were garbage cards ( 4x Am´gam rager and barely any C´thun buffers, etc). Not even cards for my most played classes (Mage,Priest,Shaman) except those RNG ones for Mage. For the first time I was thinking of quitting Hearthstone because I had the feeling that I can´t keep up anymore since Im F2P. I barely have any Deck Recipes complete, which saddens me cause I wanted to play some of them so badly. Maybe I have to invest like 20€ for classic packs to get some more dust so I can craft the cards that I want.
Any advice from you guys? I have like 2500 gold and around 1600 dust + another 1600 dust from the nerfs because I haven´t disenchantent yet. I don´t want to spend all my gold because I try to save for the next adventure. I also finally want to craft a good legendary from the Classic set because I didn´t crafted Dr Boom cause of the rotation.Thank god I didn´t 2 days before the announcment I got the dust I needed for it. I was thinking about Ragnaros or Sylvanas. I really need help how to go on so I can have fun again.

So I entombed this 7-9 give C'thun +2/+2 from a Warrior. Played it later and it seemed to give me a C'thun in my deck ? Well I dont know if it really did, cause opponent conceded right after but the animation seemed that way ?
Or is it just the same animation whenever you play a buff C'thun card ?

You're going to have another 3-4 months to save up for the next adventure and you need approximately 70 packs to get all the cards you need from this expansion.
I wouldn't craft anything for at least another month though its not that necessary and we don't know what is good / bad yet

Master of Evolution is a great card too, especially in midrange lists with understatted minions like Tuskarr Totemic and The Thing from Below. At the very least it's a yeti, on average it can heal a minion or turn a totem into something worthwhile, and at its best it just wins games, hands down. Aggro Shaman is probably the stronger style but I've been having major success with midrange as well. The new Legendary is kind of cool but it seems unnecessary. The deck does well with a low curve and doesn't need to worry too much about healing itself.
I hope that Shaman is just the most obvious deck at the beginning, and not necessarily the strongest, since there seems to be so much more to this patch than people have been exploring.
I've noticed the same thing too about druid. It's quite strong when it gets a good start but in the grindier games it is much weaker without AoL.
On faster decks: I think it'll take a longer time to figure out how to put a very slow list together that can actually handle some of potent cards shaman has or the ramp mechanic of druid. Fast lists are simple to put together and are pretty much in line with the trajectory of the game before standard. Slower things require a higher understanding of what cards are worthwhile to be including. Evaluating heals vs removal vs tempo is difficult and takes time to work out. I've seen people having some success with a pretty slow N'Zoth Paladin with 2x Forbidden Healing, if you want to look at something.

@Tresher Why would you save gold right when an expansion hits ?
For f2p players the most efficient way is to just play arena the first few weeks of a new expansion. You basicaly pay 150 for a pack but if you are not really terrible you get more than 50 gold per run and some dust as well. Takes a lot of time to play these many arenas but well f2p I guess. Then after 2-3 weeks the meta settles down and you can craft the fotm decks. This is what I did with previous expansions. I'm a f2p player as well, but this expansion I had 5k gold and just bought packs. With 50 packs you get most of the commons and rares + 800 dust. So this should be enough to jump right in.

Shaman is cool but if you guys aren't playing old God decks, then u aren't doing this expansion right.

Opened 113 packs this morning (Preorder + 3 free + 60 more ). Got these legendaries: Princess Huhuran Golden Xaril (My second golden legendary from packs ) Hallazeal x2 Cho'gall Malkorok Hogger Twin Emperor Y'Shaarj
Played 2 games this morning with a modified version of the druid recipe The Ancient Gods and went 1-1. The loss was due to me making a mistake

Rogue and Pally can actually have some pretty good N'Zoth decks that arent painfully slow.
If they fail, don't worry, I'll keep him alive in Danksteed ^^

Opened 24 packs so far, got a good mix of useful cards in them, including the Twin Emperor. So far I did only one quest, 2 easy wins with a standardized Patron Warrior (one against Yogg Mage I think, one against some sort of control Shaman). Hopefully the ladder won't become a face shaman fest >.>

Started of with some Beast Hunter. Pretty slow and bad list but good enough against C'thun stuff. Highmane into Huhuran + Heropower into Call of the wild (most likely after the board clear) is pretty good it seems.
|
For the new priest epic. Its the flex card that summons a random minion for the cost you pay. The 8 mana slot is really good. Both Rags, Alakir or Grommash for some immediate impact. Good taunts with the druid 8/8 and Tirion ofc.
No really bad cards. You always get at least a big body. Hero Power lets you easily summon an 8 mana minion even later in the game.
