Is it ELO-based, or is it just a ladder you continually climb with more wins (at legendary rank)? I have limited time to play and don't want to play if win count is more important than win ratio. I am fairly sure I read that Legendary rank is based on your ELO. I shall see if I can find a source for that Edit: can't find any blue post that say definitivly that it is tha case but that is the only way I can read it from their blog post http://us.battle.net/hearthstone/en/blog/11868609
Cool, I hope that's the case. Thanks.

Well win ratio has a part to play in it regardless. If you win 50% of your games you will never reach legendary since you do not get bonus stars for streaks at rank 5. The number of games it would take to get to rank 5 with a 50% win rate is probably unfeasible for the average person in one month.

Surely it matters for getting to legendary. But once in legendary, I'm hoping that it uses some rating algorithm instead of some hidden star count like with the previous ranks. A player with 60% win and 400 games would have a better rating with someone than an 75% win and 100 games, which would be lame.

y = minion x = sylvanas Player 1 y x x Player 2
Player 2 sends sylvanas into Player 1's sylvanas. Where does the minion end up?

who played the sylvanas first?

Is there a way to play a Dark Iron dwark with no minions to buff ?

I don't mean if it's a good idea, but I don't seem able to drop it at all. If I target nothing to buff, the card come back into my hand.

i have never observed being unable to play a DID with only enemy minions nor no minions on the board
EDIT: you have to buff a minion if there is a minion on the board aka an enemy minion to buff you cant target no minion if there is a valid target

Okay, I ran into some cheaters in the arena, wondering if there's any way to bypass this cheat. Basically what people are doing is freezing the countdown bar somehow so their turn is infinite, and then they just afk. Any way to get past this or do I just gotta concede against anyone who does this?

Ok, according to Source, it is an exploitable bug that results in both players losing. I ran into this twice in the arena today =/

Just got Hearthstone yesterday and played for 24 hours straight lol. I'm reading up but I'm not really sure how to approach the game yet. Any links that can help me unnoob would be nice!
Currently playing mage and I'm doing pretty well early game with mana wyrm, arcane missiles, frost bolt , ice lance, sorcerer's apprentice combo's. But I seem to always hit a point where I get my opponent to 15HP really quickly and completely run out of steam because my card draw can't keep up and I don't have pyroblast to finish games up yet (I don't have that card). The class has nice stalling cards but I don't have anyting to stall for. Should I be playing more minion focused?

Minion focused mage is actually really strong in lower level games. I just started this game as well and I don't have a lot of cards. Currently rank 17. Dark Iron Dwarf, Scarlett Crusader, and Venture Co. Mercenary are all really strong common creatures for mage.

Quick question: Will the ladder reset coincide with the introduction of rewards for ladder?

If you use Crazed Alchemist to switch the hp/attack of a 0/2 minion, does that minion die instantly?

Yes. Great against shaman totems.

Is there any way currently to easily get a beta key ? I've heard that you can get them really fast at the moment

Crazed Alchemist is a pretty weird guy anyways. Especially when constant buffs are involved (like Flametongue totem). For example, i had a flametongued 0/2 healing totem making it a 2/2. Then i alchemisted it, and it became a 4/2, with the 2/2 being permanent. I assume similar things happen with Stormwind champion etc.
You can also counter healing with this since it actually sets the cards values at that value apparently, so if a 3/5 has taken 2 damage, and you alchemist it, it becomes a 3/3 forever and can no longer be healed up.
I guess it makes sense.

Why does it seem like novice engineers are more popular/considered better than loot hoarders? Novice engineers have no ability to trade, whereas a loot hoarder can easily evenly trade with a 3/2 (and get the card draw). I'm guessing it's because of mage/rogue/knife juggler/mad bombers?
