It's actually pretty comparable to MtG, when you take into account you need mana in your hand. In a draft format in mtg, you're going to typically have 40 cards (maybe 41), and a starting hand of 7. Anything less than a 2 land starting hand is generally considered a mulligan (redraw -1 card). So basically you have 5 cards out of a 40 card deck (about 15-17 of which will be mana) or 3 cards out of a 30 card deck. You also don't get to draw on turn 1 if you go first in mtg. Basically, they have very similar starting hand sizes compared to deck size, if you factor out mana as basically "non-cards." Which is a pretty fair assumption, at least for draft where most of your land is going to be either basic or some kind of mana-only land.

The only exception to this Dark Iron Dwarf. You have to give a minion that +2 Attack. So that means the minion is not worth playing unless you have a first minion out.

How does silence work? I know it removes card 'powers' like taunt, give all other minion charge etc, but if used on a minion that received a +1/+1 buff, does it remove that too?
