(words/minute) Accuracy: 98% Gross Speed: 108 WPM (words/minute) -- on a macbook computer keyboard, it's pretty comfortable.. I got used to it. and it's pretty easy to press the keys down. I'm a professional typist? lol no way. hahaha and my accuracy is kinda scary. wierd, but i've typed all my life.. and plus, what jobs really require "fast typing" only? really? if there's a job that only requires copying of text onto computer, i'd do it in a heartbeat.. but other skills are always required.. that's why I don't value my speed typing as much. a-men!

Mine is probably 30-40 apm, spiking up to as high as 70APM!!! First time I did the test I got 99WPM 100% accuracy (I did however have to go back and correct a few things)... yet I have horrible M+K control in Starcraft2. It seems the reason for that is different hand positioning and generally being bad at knowing what to do in SC2 Either way, 500cpm is a pretty beastly mark when you consider it, even though many people have achieved it, it goes to show the power of the mind and muscle-memory.

50-60 WPM is the speed of an average office worker. around 80 WPM plus is the speed of a professional typist. 100 plus WPM is the speed of an advanced professional typist. Is this correct? I would imagine a professional typist should be hitting at least 120. I'm nowhere near professional (I dont even do it for anything other than games and essays) and I can hit 100+... This is probably written somewhere already in the past 4 pages, but interested to see now, because I think average WPM raises significantly every year.

When you first start learning, if you force yourself to not use the keyboard, once you start getting the hang of it it DOES increase with drastic speed! However I've found a slight plateau at the 100-110 WPM mark. However I do believe professional would constitute immaculate grammar and punctuation ALONGSIDE the speed. I'm only kinda fast with ' " - @ ; : ! , . and 'shift' so Capital letters aren't an issue and again, they do slow me down a bit by roughly 10-15 WPM. I would consider myself just a fast typist. I could become professional easy if I was to pursue an audio-typists position. However, half my problem nowadays is I'm actually thinking about what I'm saying resulting in, effectively, probably 30-40 wpm... the speed of your average hunting and pecking typist.

Edit: And I usually average around 70APM while playing SC2.

Yes but most people use their native language when typing. I had problems when writing the text because the words wasn't like my native language words. I had to think about it and muscle memory was tilting me because of it.

(words/minute) Accuracy: 100% Gross Speed: 82 WPM (words/minute) I never learned the 10 finger system properly though and still use kinda my own system. And I'm probably faster writing code than texts, since I'm a programmer and that's what I usually do. Also I still found it a bit harder to type those texts in english, even though I'd consider my english to be quite good. And I'm just prone to always correct my mistakes, since in programming you can't just leave a typo in there. I somehow can type C code 8 hours a day, but I'd probably go mad if I had to type actual sentences. Not sure if this makes any sense ...

I type quite literally with two fingers (I poke the keys one at a time, and never have more than one finger touching the keyboard at the same time) and I average around 100-110 WPM. My APM, on the other hand, is usually around 30-40 when playing against Master league players. I really don't see how there's any correlation at all between the two, considering most APM is just pointless spam in the first place, and in theory your max APM would be the same as your CPM (which in my case was like 600). The thing is, you're never going to be anywhere near your max, and your average is largely dependent on how much you want to spam and I don't feel that a higher WPM increases the desire to spam any. Edited to correct APM numbers.

I'm also happy that my newly imported DT35 is indeed awesome - I type about 10 WPM faster on it in both languages than with my old standard keyboard.
