i remember ages ago i thought a Bruno film might flop because he hadn't been around as long as borat, but damn it looks pretty fucking good

I find this kind of humor so very very retarded ¬¬ I must be an outcast because so many ppl loved borat and so many people are gonna watch this one
|
I think Sacha's brand of humor makes us recognize our own homophobic/nationalistic etc feelings by seeing people react to his over the top presentation. It's both pop and cutting edge.

Lol I love Sacha, he is hilarious. Da Ali G show was so good as well (in fact I found the Borat segments on the shows much better and funnier than the movie), everybody should definitely check out his show if you haven't already.

Idk, some of it has to be almost entirely staged.
I mean, I hate to break it to some of you guys, but camera guys/sound crews are not, in fact, invisible.
|
That being said, I will watch it and allow myself to believe that it is real, because it will entertain me.

haha exactly what I thought.
I think the traditional african name sold it for me. i find his bruno sketches funny, but man that punch line was hilarious.

there is no doubt an "explanation" for the camera crew

While I love Cohen, this part of his films is terribly overrated.
A lot of times people are reacting not to Borat's racism or Bruno's gayness, but simply because of the character's retardedness.
Things like Velcro Suit, D&G Camo, and Dildo Martial Arts is stupid whether Bruno is flaming or not.
Although "That is such a Samantha thing to say" was hilarious.

was it more funny if you had watched sex in the city?

I saw this the other day, and it does look hilarious, although I must agree with some of the others that some scenes looked staged. But that doesnt matter, because for most movies 100% of the movie is staged.

I'm going to give him a traditional African name...

BRUNO is just as old a character as Borat.
i really urge all cohen fans to go check out the original ali-g, borat, and bruno sketches from the original DA ALI G SHOW which aired on the BBC like 10 years ago. all the material that you see in the latest movies, hbo released in america is rehashed recycled from the original (imho much more brilliant) british versions. there is a skit where bruno goes to skinhead gathering that is quite amusing. + Show Spoiler +bruno: so have you any message for austria's gay community? skinhead A: ye! doan't be fughkin' gay!

Yeah the old BBC show did a much better job of exposing people's ugliness.

Borat was a hideous, unfunny gaffe.. this looks worthwhile though.
