A is easy, or at least when I played. God its a sad that I ever played ddr =[ I cant believe they used those POS mats too like others were saying. Also would they let you choose your difficulty? Seems lame that the guitar challenge and DDR were played on "easy" songs. | ||

1. Judging the game. While I guess no one can deny how important criticism is, I guess one should always stick to some facts. So let´s say Starcraft is the hardest game out here (Quote Tasteless, famous commentator), why is that so and why do you think game XXX is not? I will try to stick to the WCG thing, so why is Starcraft "harder" then Rock Star 2? Or is it? Well in my Opinion (which is pretty narrow towards this game since I never played it) it is a game which focuses highly on a) reaction and b) memory. While I guess the reaction part is pretty obvious (downstreaming glowing buttons which ask you for a proper reaction), the memory part is not. For once you have the "controller memory", knowing where which button is and automatically push it when the correct light on the screen shows. And second the "String-memory", which is that after playing the same song over and over again, you will eventually know which button comes next. While that might not be the case 100% of the time, at least some pasages you will be able to play by heart. So in this case I would say yes, Starcraft is a harder game, just because besides the reaction times (micro and macro management), you have memory (like in Rockstar you remember your units/buildings and Build orders in opposite to keys and learned strings). But you also need a in depth tactical Idea of the map and the Situation, you need to adjust to whatever might be thrwon at you by some other person. This part is pretty cruzial too, I guess, you play against someone, while in RockStar you basically beat the game (even if someone sits beside you, you still beat the game because the buttons will not stream down differently depending on who is on the other side of the split screen). Now that being said, please remember that this does NOT mean that Starcraft players are "better", or Starcraft is the "better" game, I simply (based on whats above) think that the versitility and especially the fact that you are playing against another thinking individual, makes it overall harder. Please keep in mind that hitting 100% of the Keys is still monstrous and your reaction time on some songs has to be somewhat higher then in Starcraft (leave koreans out of this). In case I should be wrong in any of my basic assumptions about the game, please correct me, or if you feel offended, feel free to first flame and then correct me I can as well try listing whats necessary for the other games played as well, but I would rather have someone do it who actually plays them, cuz I might be terribly wrong due to lack of knowledge in some points. 2. Judging the Show First Question which came to me when I saw the Name "WCG Ultimate Gamer" was "how in the World are they gonna bring all the World #1 players in their game together and make up a fair game of it?". It turns out, that thequestion can only be answered with: Its impossible so they didn´t. The show is (my guess) based on which companies were ready to throw in money to support it. But then of course their game would have to be part of it as well. 3. Judging the Participants While this is pretty much why the format is still alive and succesfull, you still can not do it. You see what the producer wants you to see, not more, not less. Every statement might be pulled entirely out of context and the fight you see might have resolved in some happy end which alsoyou didn´t see. So if you want to judge them, try to get in touch and ask them what happened etc. I think everything beyond this is pointless. And yes, I saw how Dante pissed everyone off, but on the other hand, did anyone ask "why" he did that? Was he stressed out? Did he have a bad day? It´s just impropper to judge someone based on a couple of short, selected scenes. In my opinion iNc did great, and since he´s out I thought about not watching anymore, but then again there are exceptional people on the show, for instance Amy, whom I would think of as THE best mannered gamer I´ve ever seen after even pushing Kelly during the knockout games. I also saw a guitargame video of starslay3r yesterday and simply felt like bowing to my screen. While I must say that, tho I of course liked iNc best, I pretty much like any member, I am still aware that all footage has been cut for me to be entertained, so let´s see what happens next :D Finally I would like to thank everyboy in this thread for helping me grow the idea of comparing games. While it is not the goal to find the "best", "hardest", "fastest" etc one, it might help to see what fits best and maybe think more objective towards further discussions. So please feel free to add your comment concerning any game you like | ||

but then swoozie turned on his skills and inc. fell off the mat. In terms of the competition itself, it is basically what the show is. People who organize the show have no idea about the game, so they just set up the game and expect players to play the base game having no idea what real competition is about. alright, back to poker. | ||
