All this talk over PA that probably won't matter because Biden is gonna win WI/MI/NV.. Georgia would be a bonus (which Biden has an edge in).

i did not see Georgia as being a state whose vote counted in this election. If it were anyone but Trump i’d say this makes for somewhat of a fun election. in reality it’s just kind of scary, but a normal GOP choice here would make it more interesting than frightening.

It does matter. If Arizona was pre-maturely called like some people are anticipating, Biden is still needing to grind out a win in Arizona, GA, or PA (NC is a long shot)

At this point, Biden fans want every inch available to help shore things up as the lawsuits start to hit. So far, there's been nothing for the Trump campaign to point to other than results they don't like, and if margins are thicker, convincing judges to slow everything down so a closer look can be had becomes that much harder.

that and there’s a 90k vote difference in all three of those states combined. that’s not a very significant margin.

Plus DEFEND MY RULE just doesn't have the same ring to it.

Edit: Michigan getting better for Biden by the second. I expect it to be called soon.

-COVID wasn't as big of an issue as Democrats projected. Re-opening economy, social and moral issues like abortion, fears about social unrest and rioting, the strength of Trump support and the spectre of socialism on Democrats maybe surpassed concerns about the pandemic.
-Democrats continue to face a critical rural vote problem. They need to make inroads outside of urban centres and suburban areas if they want safer victories.
-Florida and Ohio don't appear to be promising swing states for Democrats anymore. They're getting distinctly Trumpier and I don't see that changing anytime soon.
-The Sun Belt pivot from Democrats has to succeed because anointing a candidate who was sold on having the best bona fides with the Rust Belt just barely pulled it off it seems.

I dunno. I think COVID was huge. Without it I don't think Democrats carry Wisconsin or Michigan, and they're both virtual locks at this point (especially if Trump stops the Michigan count LOL).

Yeah I think Trump easily wins 2020 if not for covid. Defeating an incumbent president is incredibly rare in the US. Biden had the perfect storm of events to help him win and he's still barely looking like he will.

In any case, this is the worst election outcome for a stimulus when we're going into fall/winter with rising COVID cases. Next few months are gonna be bumpy, Trump is gonna sandbag stimulus talks.

Are all the new Trump voters going to stay republican if they go with a non Trump?

No. My guess is, they will go with whoever libertarian is running. Probably not to the point where it's a realistic choice, but i'd bet we'll see a surge there.
On track to MA1950A.

And Mitch McConnell will make sure a stimulus bill passed in the house never sees the light of day in the Senate.

Yep I agree. If Trump had a strong economy, nothing was going really wrong for him, Supreme Court was insane for him this term, he would've won handily. Probably mightve even picked up Nevada.

I'm not sure a stimulus would have come even with a Trump win. It's not like he was doing anything to help Pelosi and McConnell come to an agreement.

they'll ultimately come to an agreement but it'll be in Jan/Feb

McConnell has already signaled that the Senate will take up stimulus first thing it reconvenes next week, so if Trump loses and Republicans at large stop fellating him, there's good odds that Congress can force a stimulus through over Trump's veto. It's not a slam dunk by any means, but Trump lame ducking the shit out of everything may not win the day.

Whats with this myth that covid lost trump the election? Covid has been horrible all over the world. It's not just Trump who has failed against it and in Europe the ruling parties gained votes in elections during covid
