waxing is nice cause it stays smooth longer, and a shaved cooter will grow back in like 2-3 days, or atleast be so stubbly you don't even want to get near it.
the only problem with waxing is you have to wait for the hair to get to a certain length before you can wax it again. but it's not stubbly.

i shave, but i've been wanting to get rid of the hair on my legs for a long time (i swim and bike, i.e. i do triathlon, so it's not only about the looks) but i'm sure it would look stupid if you waxed only part of your body. and waxing my whole body? i don't know... plus i'm rather fair-skinned and i think it only looks good with darker skin.

Agree - plus trimming is so much easier - just grab a pair of clippers, pop in your preferred gaurd and go to town. Only takes a couple of minutes.
