There is certainly room for improvement, but I like it a lot and I daresay most of you will too after you get used to it.

Apart from the fading, which you can like or dislike, it's definitely a lot better now, much cleaner and more consistant.

Here's the gradient I mentioned before. Maybe add some graphical hoo-hah or something to subtly enhance the effect. I'm at work so my image software access is pretty limited. Anyway:
