Basically my conclusion was "it's not black and white but no it was not right for them to publish the cartoons". I'll post it in a sec. I'd like to read it. I'm having a hard time thinking of a situation where peacefully exercising freedom of speech is wrong.

But i think it´s highly likely they were influenced by radical islam (e.g. the target is a strong indicator) The guys were trained, it's obvious by the way they hold their weapon, fire shots one at a time, and kept their cool when killing and when they first missed the address and went to another building. Cold blood and professionnal behavior mean training. Be it in Syria, Irak, or somewhere else, it's not the work of 2 madmen. (well they are mad, but not idiots) There's a high chance they were trained in an organisation. I think some people heard them say they were from Al Qaeda. But they could just self proclaim that.

The subject I chose was whether or not it was "right" for Jyllands Posten to publish the muhammad cartoons that it did. That was over 9 years ago. Not much has changed. I can post my paper if anyone wants to read it. Yes it would be interesting. My opinion is that as long as it is not hate speech or an incitation to violence there is no problem about criticising any person. However we should be able to bash Religions and systems of ideas as harshly as we like. I think that in the case of religion, putting it back to its place should be mandatory. It's a secular state, if people can't get used to have their own ideas challenged, these ideas should be trashed even more. These sacro saint beliefs must not have any kind of impunity, it isn't up to a whole society, a whole country that has always fought for freedom of speech and secularism to change itself and go backwards. I thought we were already behind this, behind the political correctness as regards to religion.

I'm about as socialist as it gets, but this moral relativism bullshit that has infected Europe will continue to allow for this kind of stuff to happen. You can't just label this as another perspective and move on, patting yourself on the back for being tolerant. France did just fine prior to their influx of immigration. If this is how they are rewarded for their generosity, than I can't imagine them continuing to be. It's sad to realize people will still insist Islam has nothing to do with this. What the fuck is France supposed to do? They are under attack. I would greatly appreciate a translation.
