In order to maintain some kind of respectable thread quality and to show some respect for those who lost friends in this tragedy, we're forced to enact a hard line policy for this thread. Any posts holding an opinion on who is responsible or making an accusation that is not held by neutral media will be banned. Policy is in effect from page 27 onwards. Specifically, citing a Ukrainian or Russian source for your claims is going to get you banned. Opinions/facts/accusations arising from neutral media sources (i.e. media whose country of origin is not Ukraine, Russia or one of its puppet states) will be permitted. This policy extends to all forms of media; if a youtube video or picture has not come through a neutral media source then don't post it or you'll be banned. If you wish to discuss this policy please use this website feedback thread. Updated policy on aggressive posting and insults.

Used to avoid Eastern Ukraine air space before TODAY, now Lufthansa, Aeroflot, Transair, Turkish Airlines, Air France has announced they will avoid all of Ukrainian air space from today when flying destination is not Ukraine off-course. Correct decision!

It's also a good source of runaway speculation. You can convince yourself of any opinion if you look at the right sources such as, say, only SBU videos.

Except most sources are pointing at the separatists being involved, with the occasional report that the plane was followed by fighter jets, or that Putin's plane flew that same path earlier (which was denied by the Kremlin)

They don't mean anything really, just two guys talking in Russian. If the people they are accused to be came out on live television and spoke you could compare but obviously not gonna happen. I'm sure the NSA/CIA have audio recordings of some of these guys to see if there's a match but what would the point be of releasing that information if there was? People who are convinced Russia and the separatists are right will just say it's a fabrication and nothing will change. Radar and satellite data and analysis of the wreckage - if a real analysis is allowed to happen - will solve the mystery if it can be solved. Eastern Ukraine is one of the most heavily satellite-spied-on areas of the earth right now the US and Russia both are surely running a huge amount of images through a computer program to see if anything comes up.

Yeah, I'm avoiding speculating at all. I think its fairly obvious what happened, but throwing shit out there without evidence is a good way to lose credibility and create confusion. If only religions subscribed to this way of thinking, the other headlines about Israel/Iraq wouldn't exist. But that's another story.

It's one thing to loot from a store in the middle of a mob it's another thing to loot from the murdered dead. It's not a poor/rich thing anyway it's war soldiers have always looted from the dead in war and always will. Even in Western countries where their militaries make a real effort to stop it it still happens a lot.
