The problem isn't that the questions are dumbed down, it's that 1. they asked the same fucking question about 10 times and 2. they still haven't realised that the players won't answer things like 'was Nxg6 still part of your preparation' while the match is ongoing.

Yeah it's just sad seeing Anand sitting there frowning and not saying anything. Reminds me of last year when someone asked him how he felt after he lost and he just said "Yeah, it's a bitch, isn't it?"

Seriously, what the fuck was that??

26. Kd2?? was played here by Carlsen.
Here, even most of the 10-years old kids would find 26...Nxe5 27. Rxg8 Nxc4+ 28. Kd3 Nb2+ 29. Ke2 Rxg8, winning at least a pawn and gaining massive activity instead of suffering in an awful position.
But Anand, after exactly 60 seconds of thinking goes on autopilot: 26...a4? and Carlsen's King marches to the e2 square unpunished, after which Black's position is even worse than it was before the whole accident.

one of those bad but exciting games, poor vishy

I feel like that is such a moral defeat that this could actually be the decisive game in the competition. Also how quickly the game yesterday petered out after Vishy had still a lot of time left and a very reasonable advantage I can't help but think that Magnus would not have let these opportunities slip away.
I remember last year when Carlsen actually created some amazing complications in a dead drawn pawn endgame. I think Anand really needs to fight a little bit harder even in bad positions.

yeah thats carlsen's biggest strength -> not stopping to play till its really really over (win, loss or tie)

The questions in this interview is first grade nonsense.
"How does it feel to be the loser of a match with so many mistakes Vishy?"
The look on his face is literally, "If I could snap your neck I would."

This is one of the most played out lines in modern chess and we're going to remain in theory for a while.
edit: yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaawn

Looking at the remaining time, I have a bad feeling for Anand. Another loss here and it's basically over. edit: you're right ofc. It's not so much the "remaining time", but the difference between them. I just find I hard to imagine Anand can go into an endgame with Carlsen knowing that he has 30 minutes less on the clock without Carlsens reputation of winning "drawn" games creeping into the back of Anands mind.

50min for around 10moves is plenty of time imo
