Aaron Michael Hernandez iswas an American football tight end for the New England Patriots of the National Football League.
Latest Update:
Police have charged Aaron Hernandez with murder and weapons counts in connection with the slaying of a semi-pro football player whose body was found in an industrial park about a mile from the New England Patriots tight end's home.
Earlier that morning: Aaron Hernandez was taken from his North Attleboro, Mass., home in handcuffs Wednesday morning after being arrested by the Massachusetts State Police and North Attleboro Police.
The increasing attention and speculation surrounding the New England Patriots tight end took a decisive turn as a throng of policemen arrived at Hernandez's residence at 8:47 a.m ET.
The Massachusetts State Police announced that Hernandez was arrested shortly after they obtained a warrant for his arrest. The MSP tweeted that Hernandez is currently being booked at the North Attleboro Police Station and will be brought on Wednesday to Attleboro District Court for arraignment. The charge against Hernandez will not be released until it is presented to the court, the MSP announced.
NFL Network's Rich Hollenberg told NFL Network's "NFL AM" that three police cars, two of them unmarked, arrived at Hernandez's residence early Wednesday. As many as nine plainclothes police officers and two uniformed North Attleboro officers entered Hernandez's home, bringing Hernandez out about five minutes later. The tight end answered the door shirtless, but was taken away with a white T-shirt draped over his upper body, with his hands cuffed behind his back.
How can you handcuff me...if I have no ARMS? WHAT NOW, COPPERS?
But yeah there's a reason Hernandez fell so far in the draft. He had serious criminal and gang related red flags that turned a lot of teams off him. While obviously nothing has been proven yet, his history and the particulars of this case are very alarming.

Yeah. Being a big fan of the gators he never caused any outward issues. But a lot of players have been coming out and saying he had really sketchy behavior.

They did he's name is Jake Ballard. Why do we need a separate thread? Ray Lewis murdered two people how come he didn't get one. Anyways this kid is dumb as rocks he destroyed his cellphone, cctv, and hired a cleaning service. No doubt he murdered and i have no sympathy for him. Such a god damn waste of talent he had everything.

How come nobody here's referenced that uber-clever thread title?
I love the decision by the Patriots to cut his ass immediately. If this situation really goes to shit (most pundits seem think to Hernandez is looking down the barrel of some serious charges) the Patriots want no part of the media circus. Make him a "former NFL player" and not "New England Patriots player."
What a fucking waste. You're worth millions of dollars, have someone else kill for you.
Wait, he's under arresting for obstructing justice by destroying his surveillance system and phone, not murder, right? You should really include something in the OP (or maybe I've somehow missed it in 3 reads of it), since it's not really clear right now.

They have not released his charges, and will not until hes arraigned.

That may or may not have been the case. I don't think anyone knows what is going on until the trial.

How come Ray Lewis didn't get his own thread? Because TL didn't exist till 2011 and Ray's whole nonsense happened in 2000?
Also Ray Lewis presumably did not kill the dude, but was partying with the guys who did and attempted to cover it up for them which got him in some troubles. Protecting a murderer is still pretty scummy, and that's at the bare minimum what Hernandez has done.

Pretty sure TL is older than 2.
I'll guess he meant 2001, though I don't know for sure when TL started up.

Pretty sure he knows that since he registered in 2009 so.... I'm guessing it's a typo
A Massachusetts court said Tuesday it has sealed documents related to the killing of a semi-pro football player Odin Lloyd found dead a mile from the home of Patriots tight end Aaron Hernandez. Attleboro District Court officials said documents related to the case, including search warrants, have been impounded, meaning the public can't see them. No charges have been filed.
State police have searched in and around Hernandez's home in North Attleborough several times. At least three search warrants have been issued in connection with the investigation.
Odin Lloyd, who played for the semi-pro Boston Bandits, was found slain June 17. The 27-year-old's relatives said he was dating the sister of Hernandez's fiancee and that the two men were friends.

I doubt he can as teams can release players anytime for any or no reason. Teams do it to old / bad / hurt players all the time. the Patriots still need to pay him the money guaranteed in the contract no matter if and what he is found to be guilty of. Ironically, if the Patriots did not release him, there is a decent chance they could get out of paying him if he was found to be guilty, as there are behavior / moral clauses built in the contract.

Reading details about this his contract... he is sooooo screwed right now. His $41 million contract he signed last year...it's front loaded with a signing bonus. But those actual cash signing bonus payments were deferred.
And in the NFL rules...
Per Article 4, Section 9 of the CBA, “any player who . . . is unavailable to the team due to conduct by him that results in his incarceration . . . may be required to forfeit signing bonus, roster bonus, option bonus and/or reporting bonus, and no other salary, for each league year in which a forfeitable breach occurs.”
So his "guaranteed" signing bonus money that was deferred...is gone.

Pats won't take much at all of a cap hit.
I believe since Pats released him before he was arrested (if I got my timing right), they forfeighted their ability to recover the signing bonus. Some relevant stuff:

Well I fail to see how being arrested on false accusations (i.e. being found not guilty) would count as "conduct by him". Let's say II need money -> go to NFL guy "gimme 10k $ or I'll do something that makes you get arrested" -> profit.
And really, players can be released if they are injured, like during training or games playing for the team? This stuff looks to be so abusable if it was true. So if a NFL team who doesn't need a player, but don't want play vs him either? Better make sure he suffers a career-ending injury before releasing him.

Or are my ideas just too cynic?
Teams can release player, so player doesn't play for the team anymore, but teams still need to pay said players according to contract.
As for situation you said, it actually not uncommon in US, but teams / leagues has their own investigation unit so it's not like they will release people without good reason. And often times, if the player is talented teams put up with their BS behavior, like when players get arrest for DUI / fighting and stuff, teams don't automatically release them. Again, teams don't really want to release players as they still need to pay them for not playing.

My only point is that you both have to consider innocent and proven guilty, and celebrities have gotten of cases even stronger against them than this one. Yeah I like the patriots cutting him, but he may be a nfl player again.
The thing that baffles me the most about all of this is that someone as clearly, demonstrably stupid as Aaron Hernandez was able to quite effectively learn the Patriots offense.
There's a literal mountain of evidence. 4 minutes after the murder they have him holding the fucking gun on camera. Jesus christ how can you be this stupid. HOW

The real replacement for TE is Tim Tebow.
they shoudlve gotten his younger brother Stim Tebow. runs/prays 50% faster than the actual Tim.
easy one, but I like that Stim Tebow joke.
edit: LMAO this has become Tim Tebow thread, and I forgot to say I was sad he had thrown his life away like that after signing a 9 mill/year contract. Doesnt suck that much for the pats, he was a 4th rounder and gave 3 solid seasons...
At 3:07 AM the victim sent a text to his sister "did you see who I am with" no response he texted again at 3:11 AM "Hello?" at 3:19 am his sister replied "who?" at 3:22 the victim texted back "NFL" then 1 minute later "Just so you know" at the time of these texts, the car is seen on surveillance cameras in the area of the murder site/Hernandez's home Surveillance cameras show the vehicle driving down the road to the murder site at 3:23 AM between 3:23 and 3:27 am workers nearby hear multiple gunshots
Remember to always leave a note. Such a stomach turning detail.
Either way his bail was denied today. They're also thinking he killed this guy to cover tracks of a July 2012 double murder. Which they are finding more evidence to use against him.

Ugh, it's always so creepy seeing the interactions of the dead right before it happens. I just hope they get the murderer wether it is Hernandez or not.

makes it a pretty open and shut case.
I never understood how come NFL players seem to get themselves into trouble so readily. I mean your rich, you live in a massive house, your banging this guy's sister, and you decide to murk him in cold blood in literally the most unplanned, idiotic murder plot I have read about this year. I mean they literally have evidence to show he was there, with the victim, and probably to top the cake off, one of those guns they recovered? Wouldn't be surprised if they link the ballistics too. Would make a great episode of CSI, though a short one....

to be fair, a lot of that was the unsubstantiated rumor based on non white athlete with a shitload of tatts got busted for weed a few times. other than that, there wasnt much substance to it.
it wasnt until this shitstorm hit that photos of him with a bloods tat and rocking red clothes flashing bloods signs started appearing
