That said there are some great picks on this list. Demon's Souls (though I might argue Dark Souls is better overall), FFT, SC (I assume they just include BW), and Thief are all great games which some people overlook when making these lists. Overall, a list with some shortcomings, but probably designed that way to encourage more conversation.

No Half-Life nor Unreal? Also lol @ Counter-Strike not being under 90s. -_- Guess I'll vote for BW, not that it's not well-deserved anyway, but I'm pretty disappoint in this list.

It's funny how a large number of comments are just people complaining that the list doesn't contain some of their all-time favorites. There are obviously way more than 100 great games that have been made. Not everything can be on the list!! For instance, how many people here on TL have ever player Star Wars:Tie Fighter? No? Well i'm not surprised, considering how it was made in 1994 and is a flight sim. Though if you look at it both from an analytical and critical perspective, this game was far supeior to its immediate predecessor X-Wing, but it was also in the flight sim category, one of the best games made a the time. Even today it is still widely accepted as one of the best. Don't believe me? Here's an excerpt from the critical acclaim section from it's wiki, just to give you an idea on who's said what. + Show Spoiler [tiefighter] + At the 1995 Computer Game Developers Conference, TIE Fighter earned Totally Games the "Honored Developer Award."[citation needed] TIE Fighter became the second Lawrence Holland game to be inducted into Computer Gaming World's "Hall of Fame",[4] and was inducted into GameSpot's "Greatest Games of All Time" in July 2004[5] and IGN's "Hall of Fame" in 2007.[8] PC Gamer ranked TIE Fighter Collector's CD-ROM #1 in its "Top 50 Greatest Games of All Time" list in its May 1997 issue,[9] and #13 in April 2005.[10] In its 2007, 2008 and 2010 "Top 100 PC Games of All Time" lists PC Gamer would rank it #49, #63 and #73 respectively.[11][12][13] It was ranked #3 on IGN's list of the top 25 PC games of all time in 2007 and #2 in 2009.[6][7] It was ranked #11, #9 and #12 on IGN's "Top 100 Games of All Time" lists in 2003, 2005 and 2007 respectively.[14][15][16] The game was recognized by IGN once again in 2010, when it was named the best Star Wars game ever made.[17] In March 2004, GMR magazine rated TIE Fighter the second best Star Wars game of all time.[18] PC Zone named it the #58 "Best PC Game Ever" in 2007.[19] With all those critical acclamations for this game, how is it not on this list? I think that's pretty easy to surmise why that is the case.

It's just one way you can manipulate such an online poll. I'm quite sure WoW* will make it simply for the large fanbase. If enough ppl care and bomb their "clanforums" with "everyone vote for WoW best game evaaaaaaaaaaaaaa" it's not even close. *On the list of most played games: the sims, WoW, CS, D2. You get the idea.

I've yet to meet anyone in RL who didn't give me a weird look for including it though ![]()
