At this point hardware is pretty much exactly the same -__-

Oh, I feel your pain. It'd like the phone so much more if they had stuck with the newer trend in Android (official Google ones like Galaxy Nexus) of having all buttons as soft buttons on the screen! I also keep touching the Back key by accident all the time just from holding the phone

Get a case that is a little raised around the edge and you won't touch the keys with your palm anymore. Now it's even more perfect ! (had the same problem). So is swiftkey really much better than swype? i am trying it right now and not digging it much, but maybe I need to get used to it more and give it time to learn my patterns?

Swype is more "fun" to text with.
different topic: So...idk how or why but I have a small minor scratch on my screen :/ ... yea... Good news is that it is off on the side close to the casing border so it doesnt really get caught by the vision but it is there if you shine a light on it. Do you guys know any remedy that could fix it (i know toothpaste doesn't work xD).
also is it detrimental if I touch the speaker? I noticed whenever i touch it when playing sound it gets all distorted/staticy/warble-y. I am afraid that I am screwing up its health whenever i do that :/
Lastly, i noticed that when I'm on my lock screen (have the little dandelions as my wallpaper) I noticed that right above the large dandelion the color aren't right (i can see muttles/pixels of red, green and blue) as in its chaotic order whereas it should be clear and uniformed blue. HOWEVER, if I go to my homescreen (set the same wallpaper) there I noticed it is ok...Why is the wallpaper pixel coloring different on my lock and home? is there a way to fix or no?
edit: also how are you guys able to watch your videos without flash? Is their an app of which that can help circumvent this?

Need a new phone, been using my shitty old sony ericcsoon that I bought like 6 years ago. It was always crap, but hey it works and I didn't feel like replacing it. Been debating between this and/or waiting for the New Galaxy Note 2 in October. Only thing stopping me is if the Note 2 feels too big in the end. I want a big screen, and I'm not that worried about the size. The biggest thing will probably be if it's too big to fit in my pocket comfortably. Either way, Both the Galaxy 3 and Note look awesome, and it just feels exciting to finally upgrade my phone after so long.

The s3 is the first phone I owned that is nice and the whole time I was excited to know I am upgrading.
The note 2 does seem very nice but it probably will occupy your whole pocket. I doubt you will have room to fit anything in your jeans if you were to place it in such. But it will definitely fit in your pocket. Just go take a look at the note since the physical attributes are your biggest concern. If you don't like how it feels then go for an s3. Either way you won't be disappointed with either phones and they wont be out of date for awhile.

Don't forget that possibly a whole batch of new Nexus phones are right around the corner, one of them a 5" HTC beast if rumors are correct.

So I installed a Jelly Bean Rom onto my phone and now my battery drains in 3 - 4 hours. I went to the Battery in the settings and it said that the Android system was at 57% and I have no idea how to fix that.
Can anyone help?

Can anyone help? First step: reboot your phone and see if it happens again. If it still occurs without you touching your phone much after the reboot, then you may have a problem. If so, look through my posts in this thread (I'm currently on my phone so it's a little inconvenient for me to do so myself), I have written a post regarding battery drain somewhere here already.

Use BetterBatteryStats to check your device Wakelocks (Partial and Kernel). That way you'll be able to identify the app or service responsable for Battery Drain. A common issue in the stock Jelly Bean ROMs is the Media Scanner going crazy (Keeping the device awake and running at full CPU capacity for long periods of time in background). You can disable it with an app named "Rescan Media Root" from Google Play. You will need to be rooted to do so tho.
Give it a try and report back!.-

Posting this in a SGS3 thread might not get fair results. I might do a longer post on this later though if I'm free or I remember.

One of the best thing if not the best thing about androids is the development community behind it. I own a nexus S but I recently upgraded the ROM and kernel. Thing is twice as fast now, web browsing is lightning fast and even the camera load speed is faster. I can go 2 days without recharging as well. Adobe also stopped supporting android for jellybean and beyond. No more flash... but it doesn't matter. Someone in the community released a flask apk as soon as JB came out. Amazing community!

So yeah my S3 been bugging me about the new firmware... I'm assuming its the update to Jelly Bean.
Is it worth upgrading from ice cream sandwich to jelly bean?

Jelly Bean's OTA upgrade is only available for Poland so far. So it's probably not the case for you unless you have the Poland CSC on your unbranded ROM.
