Can anyone help? Use BetterBatteryStats to check your device Wakelocks (Partial and Kernel). That way you'll be able to identify the app or service responsable for Battery Drain. A common issue in the stock Jelly Bean ROMs is the Media Scanner going crazy (Keeping the device awake and running at full CPU capacity for long periods of time in background). You can disable it with an app named "Rescan Media Root" from Google Play. You will need to be rooted to do so tho. Give it a try and report back!.- I just downloaded cm10 and flashed that instead of putting up with my phone heating up my pocket. It's good so far BUT Why does it take 3 and a half hours to go from 2% to full battery with cm10? When I had touchwiz it took about 1 hour and 42 minutes
check if you're charging via usb or wall socket. USB limited to 5.4 volts vs around 9.1 via the wall wart adapter.

Phones are like $500 - $700.

I was wondering how to watch some of the videos that require flash. It is kinda annoying to be only able to watch youtube vidoes and certain webs when I want to go watch some hbo shows or episodes of my favorite shows in Project free tv... Is there anything that i can do that is like adobe?

You can buy the international version from Best Buy, unlocked. Was what I did when I arrived here a couple of months ago so I can bring it back to Denmark with me in a year.

If you don't want to spend do much, get the Galaxy Nexus. You get pretty much the same quality of hardware, with the advantage of earlier software updates.
I'm only now getting my update to Android 4.1 on the S3. 284MB, why did I do this when it's almost 2 AM?

okay dudebros
I have an S3, model is T999V.
What should I do with it? I know this is a pretty fucking broad question, but I have pretty much no idea what should I do.

Play angry birds.

I assumed you got the phone for free hence the question....
Buying a phone and not knowing what to do with it is pretty stupid...

check out the xda developers forum, the section for your phone. http://forum.xda-developers.com/ Root it (basically unlock your phone to allow changes to system files). You will find guides in the android development section that will let you root and install new ROMs (operating systems) and useful programs on your phone. Install a good ROM, check out Mods/Tweaks section and customize the shit out of it. Just make sure you are in the right section based on your model/operator (lots of different S3s there)

Screen cracked after just one drop, 1 and a half foot distance. I dropped my HTC evo 20 times over 2 feet and it never cracked. Very upset right now.

Mine also got a crack on the screen.
I think a cover is a pretty good investment

Yeah a protector can be a great investment. Even gorilla glass can get scratched up apaprently. but I've heard accounts of people using gorilla glass and being somewhat careless with it and after a year the screen is apparently still pristine. but protecting your phone can be a sacrifice to varying degrees depending on how much you want it protected. i personally like my phone as thin and light as possible. i tried screen protectors for a bit but if you want something clear like i do you sacrifice some durability so the ones i've tried usually break down pretty quick after a month or so. i've tried harder screen protectors but they don't look as nice, and you get "the rainbow effect". my solution now is to use a nice minimal bumper and just go naked with the screen, using a messenger bag to carry it around the rest of the time. that way i can bring my laptop/tablet, chargers, and notes or whatever at the same time.

I personally disagree with scratch protectors in a vast majority of cases. I'm sure some people could find arguments for specific scenarios like "I like to put my phone in my pocket along with my keys and a handful of coins, and nails too". But in general, what's the point? You get your new phone, it's magnificent and glorious - and right away you make it ugly by throwing in a screen protector which inevitably has imperfections, and may not be installed exactly right. You carry it around for 2 or 3 years, and as time goes by the screen protector gets slightly beat up. Unfortunately your phone is now obsolete and barely worth anything. So all the time you've been protecting something that's now worthless.
I've had my Galaxy S for over 18 months now, the back is a bit scratched up because I use a case but the glass is scratch free. I could almost buy a new back on ebay and sell this thing as BNIB. And like I said, it still wouldn't be worth much.
Unless you're one of those people who get a new phone every 3 months, protecting your screen is dumb because it defeats the purpose. You put on an ugly protector to keep your phone from becoming ugly. So in the end, you have an obsolete phone who's never been as beautiful as it could be.
