look it better be our current president again or I will be forced to moved to another country, probably SK.
Even if one wants to say Obama didn't do anything, it is better than f things up some mo'. Also as one can see even in this thread, the world at large is not so pissed at US, because of who we have in the seat right now. I think foreign policy issues would be much more carpy if we had anyone else, and will get bad if the other one was there.
And of course, who knows what Romney would do, since so far, he will say anything to curry favor with who ever he likes/needs at the moment. In the end, Romney is a crony... Cater to whoever have power and influence, the only thing he will be/ is consistent in.

Says it all. Some of the posters here are paid, no doubt.
U.S. Credit rating downgraded again. I'll vote for someone who adresses that... At all. Media? yah, almost.
So out of the millions of Americans, these are the ones they can come up with? Next election, I betting any of you that the selections are going to be much worse unless miracles happens.
Supreme Court. Presidential elections are the most important thing, because the Supreme Court has basically declared itself the end-all-be-all alpha-omega of all government matters. And the Presidents appoint the Judges.
Look at how split (5-4) our Supreme Court is. It's a partisan split, and it's delicate. So if you want Scalia and the like making decisions where people are awarded double citizenship and unlimited monetary influence on government (provided they're the head of a corporation), vote Romney. If you want sanity, vote Obama.
It's important constitutionally. But you know the truth, in USA like in most "western" countries, the real leaders are lobbys, big companies and rich private campains donors. Not the president. And not the citizens.
Compains are just adds, like a Pespi vs CocaCola challenge. Nothing more.
Not American, but I wouldn't want to vote for either for them. Even the most left wing politicians in the USA would be extremely right wing in Europe. I'm hoping Obama will win, but I'm afraid it's going to be a Republican victory, since the idiotic hive-mind of common people everywhere tend to blame their current leader when times are tough, even when he's not the cause of it.

Please elaborate and give reasons rather than just call someone a fucked up ass senator who is appalling and disgusting.
Mitt Romney is like the most hated candidate i would assume, in a lot of debates he stood for stupid ideals like capital punishment even if the defendant is proven innocent. He disgusted whole crowds with bull shit and stood there like it was nothing.
He was a big part of the oil pipe line going under water wells used for distribution to lots of people, he just doesn't give a flying fuck hes a fucking butt for brains and has a terrible history, honestly i don't understand why people would even stand for somebody who would show he cares more about his money than the american public's ideals or safety. Sure Ron Paul would have stood for wrong ideals too but what candidate doesn't?! i mean honestly why would you stand for somebody who shows how corrupt he his and acts like its nothing, completely sickening...
Well to all the foreigners out there who aren't familiar with the US Electoral College...
This is what you need to look at http://www.270towin.com/ . This is the "scoreboard" and this is what matters.
I think Romney has a chance. But he needs to take back most of the 9 states that Obama swung from Repulican to Democrat in 2008, or flip one state in the northeast.
I'm going on the assumtion, at the very least Romney will win every state that McCain won in 2008. That's what 270towin is showing i believe.
What Romney has to do is... sweep the Southeast... VA/NC/FL. And he needs to win at least one of Pennsylvania or Ohio.
That puts him about 2 states away from getting to 270.
If he can't win VA/NC/FL he will not win. If he can't win 1 of PA/OH he will not win.
And speaking for VA....VA will be close. In 2008 VA was 52% Obama 46% McCain.
NC was 49.7% to 49.4% FL was 50.1% to 48.9%
Once you start looking at the results from last election... you pretty much see 90% of the gameplan for 2012. There are only a half-dozen states that matter.
I hope Obama does it. Most of us "care" only about the election anyway. Because you orchestrate it like it's a big gameshow. It's entertainment.
None of us believe in this one-man-to-rule-them-all image these elections portrait and your two-party-system fucks up even the best of your choices anyway it seems.
From this we can see that the deficit tripled as a result of falling tax revenue in the GFC. And Bush increased the deficit 4 times more than Obama. Nearly all of the deficit is falling tax revenue, the 2 wars, and the Bush tax cuts. The Obama stimulus is completely insignificant in comparison.
Furthermore, a lack of spending now and a continually depressed economy as a result, will lead to less tax revenue then could otherwise be generated, making it even harder to pay back the debt. This is what's happening in Europe. Paying back debt is not hard because tax revenue naturally grows as a result of population growth, economic growth and inflation.
Obama has broken many of his campaign promises, but instead of doing stuff drastically different he followed the plans laid in place by Bush. I know the rest of the world hates Bush, but he obviously wasn't completely full of shit. At least his last year in office, those middle 6 were pretty terrible.
He said Guantanamo shut down within a year, four years later there are still detainees there, what do you know Bush was right no one else wants to take them and you can't let them go.
Troops out of Iraq by August of his first year, eventually happened by way after his goal. Who knew Bush was keeping them there despite it being massively unpopular because it would be irresponsible to pull out without a solid plan to transfer security and Iraq was not ready.
Bush also had pretty similar policies to combat the economic crash, IE bailouts and such.

Who extended the Bush Tax cuts. Obama is who.
Anyhow Obama's approval rating received a major boost because he basically was not George W Bush. It's also almost impossible to anything as President with a hostile congress.
What most people forget is that Congress has a lot of control over what the President is capable of doing. The mistake Obama made was believing that Republicans would be willing to work with him in a constructive manner. He started negotiations way too close to the Republican position and then had nothing to negotiate with.
gosh it's still so weird to think of VA as a swing state now. funny fact, only Ron Paul and Newt Gingrich made it on the ballot in VA for the primaries
i would've preferred Ron Paul over both of these, as it stands i'm probably at the point of needing to do more research before coming to a decision. i definitely like Obama more than Romney as a person, but as far as political stances i can't say the same.
someone mentioned earlier that congress is republican controlled, but you have to understand, the reason so many republicans got voted into congress was in response to the first couple of years under Obama, the same way at the end of the Bush era congress was mostly democratic controlled

He had a filibuster-proof majority in the first two years of his term. Funny that everyone blames Republicans when it's Obama who has added trillions to the deficit and not put out a plan to reform entitlements.

Isn't there always a swing against the incumbent in the midterm election?
For any of you thinking it matters if either Obama or Romney wins are idiots. No offence, but voting for one of the worst presidents in history or voting for one of the future worse presidents in history is completely idiotic. They both support the large bankers. They both are going to keep us in the middle east. They both are going to elect large banking representatives to serve in their administration. They both are going to do nothing about the Fed. They both are going to be completely dishonest about their promises during the campaign.
It does not matter if Romney or Obama wins.
Before you look into all the ideals of a candidate, the first thing you should look at is the character of the person. Is this person honest, passionate, and genuine. If that person does not fit all three of those characteristics then their ideals mean absolutely nothing. Only one candidate fits... wake up America. Were in a huge decline and the new generation is going to have to wake up. Take a little emphasis off the pursuit of happiness and focus a bit more on life and liberty.
