It's not only about racism, many people who voted for her were either desperate people who see that poll as a way to express their discomfort, or regular UMP voters who dislike the way Mr Sarkozy handled France during the past 5 years. (and I did not vote for her.)

She's not like her father, she did a great job to undemonize the party. Meh, it's the same thing. She's just softer, but the idea are the same. Father is smarter.
Yeah he is. But he scared people. His damn daughter actually make people believe it's okay to vote for her.
Sigh

True! I see nothing wrong with leftists being happy and all, but the right wing doesn't need to be that sad. They're just hurting themselves.
A country is like a tremendous boat : you can steer left and right, but it will take some time to actually move.

Please just don't say that. Like I would not bear to read that Sarkozy was the real France. This is not true, and this is diminishing to say the least.

The consequences of having a democracy with no property rights are inevitable: The people will consistently vote themselves more money.

Gratz on getting Hollande as your new president France instead of Sarkozy.

Until the money runs out, and then... oh snap.

This is actually the opposite here, since Hollande promised more taxes.
I'm happy tonight We're still in the same shit, but now it doesn't stink anymore.

We need taxes in order to fill the public bank.

Congrats France.
After losing Italy and Greece to undemocratic vulture capitalisms and the grinding wheels of the so-called 'free market' we at least won back France. Bye 3% and bye austerity.
As a person from the Netherlands, I am very grateful. Especially since I had to live with the thought that politicians with my namdate let themselves be used as the sledgehammer.

Maybe we'll not have to wait december 2012 to live the end of the world.
Well, the end of the France at least

The more time passes and the more I realise politics is like a glorified football game. People are just happy because their team won and they cheered for it. In reality it probably won't change anything, everyone is still biased and unwilling to consider other points of view, and none is the wiser.
Oh well, my team won so I suppose I should celebrate. But if I'm being honest with myself I know nothing positive will come out of this for me personally.
