I have been scouring the internet all morning. The only friend I have of who would know live in japan and is asleep right now, so I turn to TL... then I realize, there might be others with a similar question, so feel free to ask your own.
My particular song is a classical piano piece. A big feature is that it continually hits the same note over and over with progressive chords every other beat. The feel of it is like watching a storm pass by. And beyond that, all I can do is hum the parts I know. HELP!
Unfortunately, I know the sound and feel of it, but those things don't matter much on the internet. This is my shot in the dark hoping there is a piano player/music major surfing TL right now.

Do hum the parts you know into a microphone and upload it somewhere?
If anyone can find me the song 'Irish Landscapes" by 'Peter Finger' (juvenile chuckle over the name) I would love you long time. I first heard it through my pandora but I can't find the song on youtube which is usually my go to place to listen to a song on demand.

From what period is the piece, classical piano repertoire extends from 1600s to now, if you know around when it was written that would be a help in narrowing down the composer.
Hey guys, I know the song hasn't been found yet but i feel free to ask a question too :
Can someone give me the name of a recent famous american football player which is sometimes bashed for believing in God and not in his doctors, and from the pics i saw from him, he wears orange clothes, is white and has short blond hair. Thanks !

Oooh, I got one, I remember seeing this music video of this Japanese rock band, and in the video a kid was at a computer, and got sucked into the monitor, it was a dark atmosphere and kinda bizarre, any ideas?

Yea it really isn't as bad as it sounds just do it and upload it like your youtube channel until we identify the song and then delete it. I listen to a lot of classical piano but their is just too many possibilities to able to help you accurately.

Unfortunately i can't help you. But this is the perfect time to get out an old recording of a piano piece i recorded long time ago on trumps stream i belive was it. I did only catch the ending tho, but maybe someone knows it. http://k004.kiwi6.com/hotlink/y30bjl9vga/piano.wav
skip to exactly 15:30 - Piano peace that has a lot of storm in it imo. Or watch the whole thing, it is amazing. My blind shot. ;D
I did the whole thing (well 75% of the way through) .... very very cool stuff. I like that piano part also, its so much fun playing around with bass notes like that - wish i could play piano. Some very hard stuff in there.
Are you sure it was a piano and not an organ? It sounds very much like you are describing Bach's Tocatta and Fugue in D Minor. It hits the same notes coupled with chord progressions.
thats stinks of jimmy page ... and is on a 12 string by the sounds of it - oh lol its 2 guitars. reminds me of 2-3 songs at once so cant pick them out. I have no idea who it is, but i bet they like led zep. Would love to know actually i'd listen to more.

Yeah it's actually listed under Led Zeppelin, but I've looked for the song title for years and looked up every single instrumental they made and I just can't find it, so I assumed it's actually not them. I dunno. It's the only song in my entire library that is unnamed and it's been bugging me for a LONG time lol....
Your description of hitting the same note over and over again reminds me of Liszt's Hungarian Rhapsody 2. The part you're looking for starts at 4:10 here:

If You could:
- specify the tempo - describe how the music develops (for ex. starts slowly, in the middle goes loud and faster, ends suddenly) - tell if it has expressive melody , catchy or not - if its complicated piece or rather simple - tell if that particular note is repeated throughout the WHOLE song - where did you hear it
The key with this sort of thing is to narrow down who you are sure it's not in broad strokes and then focus on the musical phrase you remember and see if you can come up with something. It also helps to check lists of composers and genres while doing this.
Just some questions: was it a familiar melody? do you recognize the style? (various classical composers have wildly different styles) was it part of some bigger orchestral piece or piano piece?
Might be Chopin's Prelude Op 28 No 15, AKA raindrops ? That would explain the stormy feeling I guess and he does hit the same note over and over for a lenghty portion of the song to emulate the constant sound of the rain...
this thread had a happy ending. i like it. out of nowhere, 30 people come together to solve a mystery. if this thread continues, i hope someone one day needs to know about a tv show. then maybe i can help : )
You guys up for solving one more mystery before this thread dies? I even have the song lol. This is a multi-year mystery for me, but I have faith in TL.

I'll help you out once I get home, school is blocking the link ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Keep this thread alive guys, we can help others too!
I hate when you can't find a song you heard recently.
It especially sucks for me because I like obscure techno/trance stuff... there are like 5 songs I have been looking for but it is impossible to describe what they sound like in words... : /
