Of course the kind you're used to makes the most sense to you. ![]() Well, that's what I mean. It makes sense for us to use that method of writing dates in America. One shouldn't use a written system that doesn't match the spoken language. So, I think dates should be written based on the spoken language. It's not "uniform", but do we really need everything to be standardized in the world? How boring.

No one buys 5 meters of wood, instead, they buy it is 1x1x12, all in feet. How do you buy wood in 1 dimension...? 5meters^1? You have ft^3 on the other side... volume is in 1cm^3 or 1000 cm^3?

![]() By the way: Imperial does affect us in Europe too since plumming is half-way US imperial in measures. ![]() Also some of the things imported from the US use imperial. Changing to SI is not something you do to inconvenience governmental workers, It is done to make trade easier

I was raised with the metric system and i find it useful and convenient in any given situation. Objectively imperial has no advantages. It's just that people like to stick to what they are used to which is understandable.

Which one I prefer is kinda based on what I am doing, I prefer calculating in metric but I would much rather design in imperial, a 2x6 is easier for me to see then a 38x140

Well, what you can "visualize" all depends on what you're used to. Obviously someone more familiar with metric will be able to visualize metric measurements better, and vice versa.

4 feet is easier to visualize than 1.3 m stop talking like the whole world is USA. you are only 1/23 of whole worlds population. There are so much more people that dont even know what a feet is and will never need it. Metric is superior, end of story.
