Heifetz for me. His Vieuxtemps 5 is godly.
Thank you for choosing something timeless. Most of the artists in this thread are pretty gimmicky, really. You really want to listen to the same person singing the same song with the same chorus already repeated 4 times in one playing?
Anyway, I would choose Django Reinhardt because he can improvise like a BAMF so he could just play endlessly and I would never get bored.

exactly, this thread has so much potential, im finding some amazing music in here to add to my playlists :D

Nujabes is a pretty good hip-hop producer, but he is in no way the best. The best producer is undisputably DJ Premier.
Well, music debates will be music debates.
I think Nujabes and DJ Premier aren't very comparable (I haven't exactly listened to a lot of DJ Premier's stuff fyi). They're both hip-hop producers in a general sense but influence different subgenres. When people think of Nujabes, the related artists that pop up are people like Uyama Hiroto, Nomak, j-hip hop and related, versus DJ Premier's more 'western' connections.

well that's your opinion so you can stay out of this thread. last i checked he's making millions producing music i think that's talent.
first of all this thread is based on opinion, its not a drake fanclub thread. its a thread about musicians. if he doesnt think drake is talented, then who the fuck are you to tell him his opinion is wrong? last time i checked, you dont have to make millions to be talented, and you dont have to be talented to make millions.
first off, i honestly don't give a fuck since the guy i named isn't drake. and second, this is a thread i made about music sharing and contribution which you already knew, is based on opinion. if you have nothing to contribute at the end of the day except support the opinion of a troll, STFU. how i happen to rationalize why someone is talented or not, is up to me to believe but does not encompass all artists. if this was true the weeknd would be making millions, which he doesn't. so who the fuck are you to come into this thread, not contribute shit, and think you have a valued opinion?

Stop telling him this is an opinion thread if you don't even respect his opinion, OP.
Also, take it to PMs if you're not contributing to the thread. OP, you need to manner up. Drake is awful, so what.
trolls keep feeding trolls love it. you come at me with BM and you expect me to to be GM? lol what fucking world do you live in? let me make it clear for you, this thread is not about who you hate or who you don't think is talented, cause i can go into any music thread and read that bull shit. this is a thread about who you think is good and why. leave your negative opinions out of it. i guess it's asking too much of people to just contribute, respect our differences in taste and leave out the negativity.

This is a hard one...it would most likely be The Mountain Goats. John Darnielle is one of the best flat-out songwriters I have ever heard. each song is a wonderful story in itself. Here is not the best example, but a song that I will always listen to:
Nobuo Uematsu. No other music can make me feel how his makes me feel. Although I wasn't a sheltered - in the basement nerd all day kid, I played (still play) a lot of fucking Final Fantasy (and other sick SNES, PS2 games), and it just punches me in the heart with nostalgia and peace of mind. My Ipod is like 70% RPG music.
I'm also a casual piano player, so playing the FF Piano Collections makes me soul explode. AND YEAH, I know he didn't write all the Piano Collections, but they're based off of his music from the games.
3 favourite Nobuo songs? I can''t really pick a top 3... so here you gugugu. + Show Spoiler +

I play drums, so my choice is a drummer. This guy has some of the most articulate, melodic, groovy playing out there and is widely considered to be one of the best (THE best imo) modern jazz drummers.
Wow, high quality stuff in this thread. I'm quite impressed with the amount of quality contributions! Way more than I'd expect from any old thread of likes.
I'll add one of my favorites here. If I had to narrow it down to 1, my favorite would probably be Explosions in the Sky. Have a listen:
Hmm, its a hard question. I think that i would consider Django Reinhardt as my number 1 musician. Still there's a lot of other amazing talents like Tosin Abasi:

koz wins out because of this song, my favorite jazz piece
an amazing jazz piece i'll definitely check out more of his work. i never EVER listen to jazz either since i haven't really been shown a good piece, but this sir is one of them.

honestly, youve been more BM than anyone else in the thread. you told some to gtfo because he didnt agree with you, and youve been a dick to several other people in the thread. there are trolls in every thread, and if youre so adamant about every single one that pops up, and you get pissed off so easily, then youre better off not even making a thread until you can handle it in a mature manner. "i guess it's asking too much of people to just contribute, respect our differences in taste and leave out the negativity" you say to the posters who dont like what you like? makes a whole lotta sense. and for the record, the musician i love listening to is Buckethead.
