We are extremely close to shutting down this thread for the same reasons the PUA thread was shut down. While some of the time this thread contains actual discussion with people asking help and people giving nice advice, it often gets derailed by rubbish that should not be here. The moderation team will be trying to steer this thread in a different direction from now on. Posts of the following nature are banned: 1) ANYTHING regarding PUA. If your post contains the words 'alpha' or 'beta' or anything of that sort please don't hit post. 2) Stupid brags. You can tell us about your nice success stories with someone, but posts such as 'lol 50 Tinder matches' are a no-no. 3) Any misogynistic bullshit, including discussion about rape culture. 4) One night stands and random sex. These are basically brags that invariably devolve into gender role discussions and misogynistic comments. Last chance, guys. This thread is for dating advice and sharing dating stories. While gender roles, sociocultural norms, and our biological imperative to reproduce are all tangentially related, these subjects are not the main purpose of the thread. Please AVOID these discussions. If you want to discuss them at length, go to PMs or start a blog. If you disagree with someone's ideologies, state that you disagree with them and why they won't work from a dating standpoint and move on. We will not tolerate any lengthy derailments that aren't directly about dating. | ||

Not clicking well with the Irish girls, slept with like 6 or 7 other expats in the year I've been here and struck out with as many Irish girls. There's this weird meat-market Tinder scene in my town that's a bit of a turn-off. It's difficult to relate to local girls here if you're not into watching rugby / GAA and getting pissed on overpriced beers four days a week. I really don't fit in here, an Irish girl asked me if I was gay because I cycle. What? Had a GF for a while but she stopped liking me. Weird shit will resume once I'm back in Germany, I'm sure of it. | ||

I've felt much better ever since (let alone some tragic news I've had to cope with recently). Fun fact, her mom added me on WeChat (chinese IM app, and yes it's weird as fuck, I had no idea she knew I existed) not so long after, I accepted for the lolz, awaiting one of the typical 'Chinese family culture' moments I always enjoy - she asked me what I did to her daughter because she'd been "acting a lot nicer and less spoiled in the past few weeks". LOL Made me feel useful. | ||

Ok, she is almost 21, spend a year abroad in a very foreign culture and moved out when she started studying 2 years ago. You could technically say we are at the same point of our lives since I also am 2 years into my studies after I switched, but it still freaks me out from time to time… There are currently no signs to support my worries, we seem to fit well but still.
