1: Green lantern - Harnesses the power of will, is one of thousands of equally powerful soldiers; no known weaknesses 2: Thor - Hailed as a god by many, is one of many soldiers of comperable strength, possesses what is considered to be the most powerful weapon in existence; no known weaknesses 3: Black bolt - Basically a corollary to superman but basically stronger in every way. He can manipulate electrons to enhance physical aspects of his body to superhuman qualities. His voice is also so strong that a whisper can break every bone in the hulk's body. No weaknesses to silly rocks though, unfortunately. 4: The flash - Can move faster than any known being, including pre-crisis kryptonians (the superman version of superman, which by the way would also beat him in a fight). The flash can phase his hand through an enemies head, causing it to explode. He can also move so fast that his body phases through enemy attacks. No known weaknesses. 5: Martian manhunter - Just overall has all the same powers as superman and then some. Also no blatant weaknesses. 6: Captain atom - Basically as strong as superman and can manipulate energy almost as well as green lantern. No known weaknesses. 7: Red Star - Human nuke. Only weakness is attempting to harness his power. Superman: The sole survivor of an obliterated race. Possesses no blatantly unique superpower. Weaknesses: close proximity to a special rock brings him to near death. Needs external intervention every time kryptonite is present. | ||

If you want to think of more powerful superheroes you can go beyond that to dragonball z where characters are 1 billion times more powerful than they need to be to destroy a planet. Looking back at marvel you have characters that can destroy solar systems (Phoenix), Galaxies (Galactus) and universes (eternity). There are many characters far above even that. When Thanos wielded the infinity gauntlet he snapped his finger and half of the universe was immediately killed. Above that are even more powerful beings that are omnipotent, omniscient and omnipresent, such as The One Above All (Marvel), and The Presence (DC). Been viewing this site since beta and this is when I decide to post lol... PS Mjolnir is no where near the most powerful weapon, excalibur, the ultimate nullifier, the infinity gauntlet and the heart of the universe are vastly (and I mean vastly) more powerful. Infact odins spear (i forget the name) is actually more powerful than it as well. | ||

In Marvel mythology, the cosmic abstracts: *Necessity (Eternity) *Equity( Galactus) *Vengeance (Mistress Death) are BEYOND the Gods. Such as Odin, Thor, Hercules etc. With that said.. Thanos has spent his entire existence holding court with the HIGHEST powers in the Marvel Universe - The cosmic abstracts. He is literally OF Vengeance (Mistress Death). Her consort. Her lover. Her worshiper. Even Galactus and Eternity, who view the Gods as "lessors", are always respectful of The Titans presence. Why are they respectful of Thanos? It's because they know that Thanos possesses the most Dynamic (and Deadly) traits in Existence. He has a unyielding Force of Will and combined with it is Intelligence. Thanos's evolutionary Mind is never at Rest. It seeks Knowledge and Transformation. It demands answers. And he is Courageous - perhaps more Courageous than most Heroes. He fights Deep, Self Inflicted pain every day of his Life. He has faced and experienced Death more than once and Defeated it. He has crossed veil between both Worlds many times and reached Apotheosis twice. He fears NOTHING - neither the Darkness nor the Light. And his soul burns with Desires. The Desire for Advancement. The Desire for more Knowledge, and most importantly, the Desire for his Dark Queen. My favorite characters are all from mangas like a few other people in this thread but since it's super heroes : Favorite : Probably Gambit from X-men or one of the transformers. I used to love him as a kid. To be honest I don't really follow anything related to super heroes, he's stayed my favorite all these years. I never really watched the X-Men but they are all my favorites overall. I watched the Spiderman and Batman stuff as a kid a ton but I grew out of it and don't really feel like they are anything amazing. Same with the TMNTs. Strongest : Superman, despite my hatred of him. I'd pick some from mangas but it's less super heroes and more just characters so it's hard to choose. | ||
