@ Freezing Assassin Thanks, I hope the best for you too, whether that is the navy or whatever other ideas you are kicking around. Yeah but the whole college application thing we be here before you know it, so better start preparing stuff now if that is the route you wind up taking.

WHOOO SENIORS!!!!!!!!
I realized how mature I was as a freshman compared to the freshmen that I had to deal with. (I never ran around the locker room screaming like a girl O_o)
But yeah... all IB Classes, senior year is hell for me BUT I WILL DO IT!!!

Really excited to finally be a senior, we can finally win class competitions. I am taking mostly AP classes like English, World History, Calculus, Biology and Math of Engineering (not AP, but a pretty difficult class). I have wanted to get into University of Michigan for engineering since I have been 6, so I have been working really hard the last few years to get in including doing about 60+ hours of voluenteering this summer alone.
The senior prank last year was the seniors writing bow down on all the junior's cars, so I hope we can do something much better.
glhf to all the seniors!

Schedule: Differential Equations AP Psychology AP Comparative/American Government combined AP English Literature AP Physics C: Mechanics AP Statistics Advanced Piano/PE
Applying to: University of Washington (1st choice--yes, over Stanford) University of California, Berkeley University of California, Irvine Stanford University
Going to UW because it's cheap... applying to UCs/Stanford pretty much only because my parents want me to have a few safety schools (UCs) and are illogically hopeful that I'll somehow get magically accepted into Stanford with enough financial aid to make it worth my time. Also thankfully I got all of the work-intensive APs over with in sophomore/junior year so I get to take all the easy ones now--just as I planned in freshman year, actually.
I'm going to double major at UW in Finance and Biochemistry and then go to a top-ranked graduate school for my PhD in Biochemistry. Planning on marrying after my PhD is awarded, moving back to my parents' house with my wife, starting a family, and most importantly finding a job in Seattle so my parents can transition into part-time work (and hopefully eventually retire in peace). Not quite certain about Finance, though, although I do need some sort of backup undergraduate major.
I really have changed a lot since freshman year. I'm not particularly inclined to disclose how, though, although I will say that I have become much more mature. Also, I seem to have increased considerably in intelligence.
As far as Starcraft goes my goal is GM by the end of the school year as well as C+ on ICCup.
I was thinking about getting more involved but I came to realize that that was just on account of people putting pressure on me to be extroverted when I would much rather read a book or play Starcraft than go to some silly social event with many people in attendance. Thank goodness I realized that in time! Similarly, I will not be participating in any sort of senior prank. Total waste of my time.

2011 here, you guys, for the love of god, PLEASE SIGN UP FOR EVERY GRANT/FINANCIAL AID YOU CAN if you haven't already. I was so happy when I found out that my first 2 semesters were totally covered financially by grants and aid. :D It'll help sososo much, especially since I see so many of you are going to the good schools, I only got into my local school but it's alright.
HF GL GG!

Promise you it gets so much better after senior year.... High School is such a joke lol

Jeeze, I feel stupid because I've never taken an AP course in high school lol. Everyone here has apparently. Also, I have to go to a state college.

I'm a part of the class of 2011 but I have some advice for you kidletts. first off, get college apps done early. It will save you so much stress and you'll feel like a boss when you get accepted in 2 weeks as opposed to 2 months. Get good grades this last year, and if you need to retake the ACT and SAT. Also, regarding senior pranks:
The class of 2009 at my school took an SUV, cut it in half, and welded it back together around the flagpole in the front of the school. I have no pics but let me tell you, it was epic, as if a car had been speared after falling from above. If you do this or something similar you must take photos and start a thread for it.

Heres an idea for all you senior pranksters - superglue a truck tire from the dump/salvage to the middle of a frequently used hallway. Use a lot of superglue. Simple, completely random, and incredibly disruptive to the school, its a trifecta of mischief. Hardest part is getting keys to the school for after hours, luckily one of my friends was the nephew of a janitor who didn't care much for his job. Have fun younguns.

last year of high school. Woot. I actually cant wait for university. Goals aside from academic ones...hmm cant really think of any.

Glad to finally see another IB kid on the second page. When I ctrl+f'd "IB" and "international" on page one and got no results I may or may not have made a Flash face.
So yeah, I have all IB classes too. I don't mind the work load or anything (we're like 4 weeks in to school already here and it seems like it's going to be less work than Junior year) except for the fact that most of my non-IB friends have half days. Dat 4 period schedule. Dat free time. Dat time on the ladder... I'm jelly.
As for the future, I'm hoping it contains broadcasting Stanford football games (and a mega-hipster indie rock college radio show), as I have some really unique, really good broadcast journalism extracurriculars, the standard 3.8whatever unweighted with the toughest classes my school offers and (hopefully) an IB diploma and SAT/ACT scores that put me in the middle of the pack among those accepted there. So yeah, list would be something like:
1. Stanford 2. UC-Berkeley 3. University of Southern California 4. Pomona College 5. UC-Irvine/Los Angeles/wherever 6. The dreaded Arizona public universities :O
This is the real issue with California going completely broke - if I get in to Stanford I'm getting a free ride on need based financial aid (who's laughing now, people who don't have to play SC2 on low with a tiny resolution?), whereas any of those UC schools probably won't throw money at me. Out of state tuition is hilariously high, so us young quasi-intellectuals of the hick state of Arizona have our options rather limited =/
Definitely showing more school spirit this year. I've always been involved with clubs (drama kid and then the various honor societies), but this year I'm actually chanting at the pep rallies and whatnot. Of course, at my school they always play games at pep rallies (pie eating contest/themed relay race type stuff), and they're always rigged for the Seniors, so that's nice too.
We've been throwing around prank ideas, nothing good enough to report yet, captain.
And no, I didn't make this account to post here, I made it to play GSTL. Goddamn DRG crushing my team while still breaking my heart in individual leagues :_(

I wish being a senior in college was cool like it was in high school. Now instead of being the wild senior who goes to all the parties and has fun you're the 22 year old dude who takes his major seriously and can't go wild because you have (insert absurd assignment) to do.
|
my plan is to win the senior challenge, aka first person to get with a freshmen, everyone pitches in money and winner gets a tv!
|
I was a 2011 senior and I'll just say that getting accepted by that one university that you wanted to get into will be one of the happiest moments of your life.
