Cola is a global phenomenon, Fanta is of italian origin but orange lemonade should be available everywhere. However, for reasons completely unclear to me, only Germany has created Spezi or Cola-Mix. Spezi is a mixed drink of Cola and Orange lemonade, in Germany you can buy it from every manufacturer of Soda, Coca Cola has MezzoMix, Pepsi has SchwippSchwapp. I haven't found real numbers but i would guess it rivals the popularity of Coke or Pepsi itself. However, if you go to our neighbours, it is suddenly gone. Italy, France, Czech Republic, Norway, Switzerland and Croatia are all countries i visited lately that do not sell it. They also don't seem to have it on the menu of their restaurants where they could mix it themselves. Which is a big problem for me as i can't live without it for a long time. I want to go to vacation, but i can't bring 40 litres of Spezi with me. So, is there Spezi in your country? If not, WHY THE FUCK NOT? It's the best! If Coca Cola Germany is prducing MezzoMix here, why wouldn't they try to introduce it in the USA or France or anywhere else if they find a lot of people like it. Are they just not willing to create competition for their own product? But then, why does not another company without the biggest share come in and try to sell it? At least Americans have a high percentage of people with german heritage, so there should be a market. What's wrong with you? Whenever I am offered local or other kinds of cultural food, it is often presented as a good thing that you can't find it much outside this region. Myself I think that there often is a reason why no one outside the region is eating it. You'll change your mind when you'll eat Corsican food (;

Look, nothing against french food, but our food has been exported to Murica and Murica has given it back to the whole world. Hot dogs, Hamburgers, Bacon, Potato salad, all german. It seems very weird America now rejects our improvement on Cola. Is there a secret plot to keep all germans in germany by cutting the supply of Spezi to our recreational spots?

Schnitzel trucks on every corner?

Well, point taken, but still, McDonalds is everywhere and seems to make money even in France and Italy. So there should be a demographic that likes american food/beverage and therefor should like Spezi Even if it's just a basket of culinary deplorables in those two countries.

I heard that McDonalds cheeseburgers are bigger in America, is it true?

Bring it.
But beware the reputation of being that kid who loses 2-0 in a Bo3 and demands a Bo5.

Floss is indigestible, but it would get stuck somewhere in your intestines causing an obstruction. I'm sure the surgeon that would have to surgically remove the floss at that point would have a more detailed answer to this question available.

Does that mean eating dental floss is bad?

Normal lengths of dental floss will probably go through your body without problem (though if you are really unlucky it could get caught). I still wouldn't recommend it.

If a big business runs a promotion where if you order for X amount of money, you get free shipping, is it shitty for me to run a bill that's right above that figure with items that are fairly heavy, require special handling AND that happen to be on sale?
Part of me feels like they're not going to be making a whole lot of money out of that order... but it's their damn promo.
Edit: Yeah I just bought $99.30 of heavy stuff on a site that had a "$99 ships free" promo.

The fact that America appreciates your food is not a very strong point to its favor (joking of course, but as an italian I must say I never ever heard of Spezi, or of the idea of mixing Coca cola and Fanta.. seems very weird to me but maybe I'd like it)
It's very good actuallly. I was kind of surprised but it's good

But in practice, no, when they came up with the promo they did the maths and worked out that they'll be making this much on item A, this much on B, maybe even losing this much on item C, but that if sales of A, B and C all increase 20% then their overall profits will rise.

If they make a loss on it in the end it's their own mistake. It's not your responsibility to let them run a profit. No need go feel sorry for a business when they won't feel sorry for you when you pay too much either.

Well in the free market terms, you'd be right, but to me it's a little bit more iffy.
For example, you don't have to tip ever, but a lot of the time people do. If you go to an AYCE restaurant, you'd hope that people eat relatively normal proportions of meat/salad/bread/rice etc, even though they'll eat until they are super full, and you can base your price off of that. If that was the case, people would maximize their utility. On the other hand, there will be someone that only eats meat, which will be expensive for the restaurant, and they'll have to have higher prices to ensure they are not losing money on these people. It's kind of like the Prisoner's Dilemma in game theory.
So to that end, do I think consumers would be better off in the long term if you didn't do that? Yeah. Do I blame you for taking full advantage of an offer? No. Would I do it? Probably.

If it had been a small shop I would've been more weary of my effect as a single customer, but since it's a big chain that historically has had poor customer service and high prices, I get the feeling I'm just a drop in the bucket anyway.
