Indeed, like he can't even look at other women?

Short answer: Yes Long answer: YESSSSSSSSSSSSS its a requirement in most countries as far as i know :o

Several people have said that a stripper is needed at a bachelor party. But why would it be necessary?

It isn't a bachelor party if there are no strippers. That is what makes a bachelor party a bachelor party.

Bachelorette parties typically also include male strippers, and most grooms would flip out if they knew just how much more... touching-friendly male strippers are than female strippers.

wtf Well-posted dude. I agree with this. As for your original question, it always depends on the person for whom the bachelor party is being held. Definitely not a necessity in my opinion, and perhaps more respectable if there isn't a stripper. Too many people in here have watched the Hangover though... Lol.

Here in brazil we have a rule for this, if you are not fucking it, you are not paying it. theres no strip bars in Brazil.

Looking up a few things on the internet, which I know is not a very reliable source but hey, I find several websites claiming that a bachelor's party was traditionally a dinner hosted by the groom for his friends. Another website suggests that it began in the late Victorian ages where it was meant for a groom to have dinner with his less-respectable friends, whom he couldn't see any more after marrying. The entire idea of strippers/going to stripclubs etc. is probably not a very old idea, so it's hardly traditional.
And even if it was so, then why would it be 'needed' ? There are quite some posts in here that tell about parties to which no strippers were invited, but still were a lot of fun. Isn't a bachelors party meant to be a party prior to getting married, and just that? I think people should be able to fill in what this party means for themselves and not be told that they need to invite strippers otherwise it's not a real bachelor party.

Just ask the groom, if he doesn't want a stripper don't get one, if he really doesn't want one and you get one, its probably just going to lead to a very awkward night/weekend.
|
When I get married, I will be disappointed if my bachelor party does not have strippers. Well, it depends, my friends hopefully know my taste ;D

If she is hot and willing to do a full nude yes.
try and find a whore thou, not for your brother, but for the other 15 guys, she will make good money and after 3 days of foresting-paintballing and drinking everybody needs a chin to aim at!

It is NOT necessary, but there is also nothing wrong with it. As far as a 3 day weekend goes lol her bill might get a bit expensive though

bachelor party? strippers are a damned must-have.. wtf? :D

absolutely ok. almost a given.. hookers on the other hand.....

I have been to (at least two, can't remember if more) bachelor parties with a stripper; I think it is ok to do so, but imho it is really overrated. I mean, you have a really nice party and all and then you get the stripper doing her show, so you more or less stop everything else that's going on, you see a naked woman (wow) and then try to restart what everyone was doing afterwards; and that is the point where all those planned shows in parties fail imho.

Tbh if I would get married, I would feel very offended if my boyfriend would have a stripper at his bachelor's party. A last night of freedom? If I'm going to get married to anyone, we've obviously been in a monogamous relationship for quite some time, so why would it be his last night of freedom? He's not supposed to cheat anyway. If my boyfriend wants to marry me, it's because he loves me a lot (I hope:p ) and because I am enough for him. Why would he want to pay a random woman to dance around naked for him? I personally would feel very insulted about such a thing. I concur.

I've been to two bachelor parties and neither groom wanted a stripper. We got piss drunk though so they were awesome.
