So, yo, I decided to help out some people from DRTL. Big deal, right? My stance isn't "I'm so good that I'm gonna show you how to play". I do have a particular coaching style where I prefer people to play on practice maps, because there's no pressure to "win" there. Why did I decide to do it? Not to boost my ego. Not to power trip. Not to show anyone how good I am. I just love playing StarCraft and wanted to share my experience with some of the people so they could side-step some of the severe learning curve difficulties. The team is actually doing quite well, but that's all them. I don't actually have to play the games, just make suggestions and talk about stuff.
Well, I found out why RedAxis doesn't like AtomicArchon recently. The dude's a jerk. Saying stuff like "Be respectful or fuck off"; that's fucking stupid, you don't do that. SnowFantasy made a joke about "trading" AA, and I said "Let's trade Arcania for some peace and quiet." So AA flipped a desk and was like
AA: Hi, Can you exxplain your outburst please in DeSPA chat? (3:14 p.m.)
Me: Any talk of trading you from our team is unacceptable to me. (4:01 p.m.)
He replied the next day
AA: But yet you can make blanket remarks about my nonsense
Show respect in chat, To everyone. (8:00 a.m.)
so an hour later, I come over to my computer, see the comment, smile and type
Me: No.
AA: then leave it
There's no time for assholes
you have no reason to be a bitch

"
show respect to others or fuck off. its that simple"
~ AtomicArchon
I'm putting this fucking quote on my tombstone. It's just
that good. The reason I had to explain all this is for "Aveng3r", who was forced against his will to read my posts in this thread. I noted that his level of hypocrisy was roughly equivalent to AA's, and that I was considering "crushing AA's soul" without naming AA, but now my hand has been forced, leading me to believe that
there is a second Kira this is part of a Garena plot. They've been too quiet for too long.
Now, since Aveng3r thought my post was ALL ABOUT HIM, he's under the impression that I threatened to crush his soul, to which he replied "You don't have the means to crush my soul", which is a strange thing to say, but gives me a few possibilities:
1. He thinks there are metaphysical bodies known as souls which can be crushed theoretically, but that I personally lack the means to execute such an undertaking.
2. He's really insecure about having his soul crushed.
3. He is 100% certain that I lack soul-crushing capabilities, but I cannot confirm nor deny that I have or am developing such a capability.
So, long story short: I have a weird sense of humor and that sometimes rubs people the wrong way. However, when I was born, I was abandoned in the woods and raised by wolfs. The wolfs taught me the values of family, teamwork, and how to catch and kill animals for eating. They also taught me to be tough and if someone bites you, bite them back harder. Eventually, I was rescued and returned to the human world, but I still struggle my old mentality, which is constantly with me. So if I feel attacked, I go into wolf-mode. This becomes especially difficult to grapple with when there is a full moon and a clear sky. Now, rather than just going berserk and biting into people's necks, I deflect their verbal attacks with humor. Actually, I use humor for everything: when I'm happy, when I'm mad, when I'm depressed, when I'm scared, when I'm eating, etc., so when I go to "let off steam", I try to do it in the absolute most ridiculous way possible, which is funny to me. For example:
Problem: I notice that some people just let their dogs bark. The dogs just bark and bark and bark.
No big deal, right? But maybe one night, I'll be like:
"People who own pets need to have a higher IQ than a brick, just to start with. Then they need to be able to teach their pets not to destroy human life. After that, they can start working their way onto more menial shit, like teaching their dogs not to bark all fucking night long at nothing because the owners have decided in their sick fantasy world that the whole goddamn fucking neighborhood needs to hear the majestic sound of their canine companion screaming wildly at the void of nothingness. But oh, I guess that's too much trouble to make an effort and actually do something about it, especially at night when you need to sleep. I just hope your dog doesn't set your house on fire, and you go 'OH MAN THATZ NOT GOOD BUT I NEED MY BEWTY SLEEP' because the dog could easily break into your garage using its massive and powerful canine teeth and knock over a canister of red phosphorus, and then you're fucked, you stupid faggots. Did you ever consider that? DID YOU?"
But in reality I'll be like:
"Hm, that dog is barking again. That's a bit annoying."
So, as you can see, there is a bit of hyperbole going on here. And not only is it good for me in a therapy-type of way, but it's kind of fun, and funny. So the more shit I can think of to talk about, the better, right? I mean, I'm not going to sit here and say that it's okay to bitch about everything in the universe, but I don't. I'm not making fun of anyone else' problems, I'm just going through life in the way that I do. That being said, nobody is forced to read this, and honestly, I really didn't think anyone would unless I posted it on skype or twitter or something. Lo and behold, I was mistaken, and some people did read, and enjoyed reading it, and I was like "Wow!" because now I turned something negative into something positive, not only for myself, but for other people. That's a really cool feeling.
So uses their letting-off-steam specifically to diss me, I guess that's fine if I dissed you first and said something like "Man, that dude Aveng3r is a total moron, lul", but I never said anything close to that, because I don't think he's a moron, or a bad person, just he pulled some bullshit by addressing me for no goddamn reason. Well, maybe there's a reason:

i cant play this game until protoss is changed completely. its just too easy to play against terran. even when I win i get pissed off. i want to be able to play this game so bad but they just shit on terran over and over and over again. its sad really.
So he's mad because he's winning games. Okay. That's usually reserved for people who lose a lot of games, but to each his own, right? RIGHT? But as it turns out, he's not a Protoss player who just becomes enraged at the sight of victory. No, he's a Terran player, who is bitching about Protoss. How do I know this? I decided to click on his posts and fiiiind out! Here's what we learned:

set benchmarks for yourself. 50 scvs by 10 minutes, third base fully saturated by 14 minutes, etc. It makes it a lot easier to measure progress that way. When people advise you to MACROMACROMACRO, this is the way you practice doing that.
if youre still in bronze league, I would aim for this in every matchup:
50 scvs by 10 minutes
5 barracks with addons, fact+starport by 13 mintues
2-2 upgrades finished no later than 15 minutes
This assumes standard bio play of course, but you get the idea. Watch your own replays and make sure to notice idle time on your ccs, barracks, etc. practice hitting these in single player if you want, its a lot easier when you know that you dont have to worry about what the other player is doing.

You seemed to have switched something up :D:D
But I have to agree with your point, Carriers - along with their known problems (long build time, extremely commitive etc) just don't do it as good as Tempests
No, that's correct lol.

Again, this is correct. Ghost/viking is an INCREDIBLY hard army to engage with the standard protoss deathball. What world are you living on? I suggest you take a look at Taeja vs. Rain to see how incredibly good ghost/viking is.

I love the distinction of plat league here :D
People do this all the time, are you in plat league? There's the "this will only work at levels below me" mindset, so you got one guy saying yea it'll work in bronze but not silver! and then another saying it'll work in gold but not plat! and then you got some guy in mid master saying it'll work in dia and low master but not mid, until he gets destroyed in a game with a lategame composition involving carriers etcetc
It's a generalized way of saying "Is this viable?" On lower levels you can do whatever the hell you want because everyone is just bad...it's not until you start heading into the higher levels of masters (where everyone can at least macro properly) that you can look at something as being truly viable.
thats why all the current top terrans and in a rush to end the game and pull all their scvs, because ghost viking is too strong
Its not that terran doesnt have a potentially strong endgame, its that getting there in good position is incredibly difficult.

This is not imbalance. This is difference in design. If you don't want to micro against splash damage, don't play Terran. But don't expect that the races have to do everything exactly the same. The difference in how the races play is part of the charm of this game relative to other RTS games like Age of Empires, where only 1 unit/upgrade is different for each "race."
Asymmetry = not all races are given the same tools
Balance = all races can win if they use the tools they are given effectively
I think you will find that as far as RTS games go SC2 is quite balanced given how a symmetrical it is.
He's arguing that the design of the races being fun and fair is paramount, not the "balance" per say.
Playing Terran is harder than playing Protoss, that isn't really up for debate. It doesn't make sense that Siege Tanks and Widow Mines do a large amount of friendly fire to the user's own units, while Colossi and Banelings do not. He's saying that it isn't fair that Protoss and Zerg are able to punish Terrans for small mistakes in ways that Terran cannot reciprocate.
Zerg and Protoss are hard to play in ways you cannot begin to imagine as a Terran player. Every race has its pros and cons.
Zerg needs to scout whether it's safe to make workers (yes, that's a thing), spread creep, inject, tech, research upgrades, all while not losing all their banelings to a single widow mine (which are invisible). They also need to be able to micro their ass off in ling bane vs. ling bane wars. If you haven't played Zerg I suggest you try and let me know if you still think it's "easier."
Protoss is VERY unforgiving. You might think Terran engagements are hard, but every single aspect of Protoss is unforgiving. If you get dropped and lose a few workers, you lose. If you take an engagement in the open, you lose. Hell, I've lost more games than I can count because ONE forcefield was ONE hex off.
All the races are hard. StarCraft is a hard game. Terran is not harder.
sorry, yes it is. not really an argument to be had here anymore.
Also, lots of back-seat moderating, and posting in that abomination that is the automatic ban thread. So he's an angry Terran player from SC2 who decided to play Protoss just to see how angry it would make him, then became angry, then took his anger out on me. I guess it's because "PvT" is "imbalanced for Protoss". If this is true AND it makes you angry on a personal level, then you are in a futile battle because you're angry because the game isn't designed the way you want it to be.
I tune into streams for SC2 even now and then, and guess what? I see Terrans beating Protoss, which means it is possible to do if you reach deep down into your heart and try. Furthermore, aren't the top two players TaeJa and Innovation? I guess what I'm really trying to say is: Shut the fuck up. Or quit playing the game. Or switch to Protoss or Zerg. Or you know what else might help? Getting better at TvP. Oh, oh, wait, is the late game TOO IMBALANCED cuz of HT / colossus / whatever? Fucking cheese. Cheese like you live in Wisconsin. Or do something creative instead of "playing standard and doing a macro game" like floating three command centers into their base and turning them into planetary fortresses. I don't give a fuck. I guess being Terran was more fun back in these days:
http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/starcraft-2/141732-zerg-tearsBut before you spaz out and go "Oh, so you're an angry zerg player?" I should point out that I don't play SC2. I play StarCraft. Just StarCraft. And people cry about imbalance in StarCraft 1 as well.
