I hate my life. So, let me explain how my summer has gone. I started looking for a job in my town starting in february, despite not getting out of university for the summer (I haven't graduated yet) until the beginning of March. Little did I know my dad had signed me up to work at his company in the factory. Now, ordinarily, this wouldn't be so bad, but the job is minimum wage (7.25 USD). Again, not too bad, except, the factory job is really really labor intensive, dirty, and the plant is unairconditioned. In Ala-fucking-bama. In the summer.

Okay, you're thinking, "man, that's not a good job, why do it?" Well, my dad signed me up for it, and it would cost him his corporate reputation if I quit. So, if I quit, I fuck him over. Keep in mind, he signed me up for this without my knowledge or consent. The worst part is that there is an HOUR AND FUCKING HALF COMMUTE. TO A MINIMUM WAGE FACTORY JOB. FROM A STATE THAT DOESN'T HAVE INCOME TAX INTO ONE THAT FUCKING DOES.

Moreover, this does absofuckinglutely nothing for my resume, which I'm going to need if I'm going to get into law school. Which, might I add, I'm studying for the LSAT all summer with what little free time I have. I'm already out of the house 60 hours a week, and what's left is studying. Further, I've been scrimping and saving for a car for years. Years. I deny myself anything nice so that I can have a beat up old shitbox to get from A to B.

And just when I finally start looking (I'm about to be 21 fucking years old, that's how ridiculous this is), my dad reminds me that all the money I'm making this summer, and all the money I have saved... Need to pay for school. This was not part of the plan, but my house got flooded, and our family was given fuckall because FEMA doesn't care about us, since we're not going to help their philanthropist agency image. When it's all said and done, the amount I'll have in my bank account after I pay for school is.... $0. Exactly $0. In other words, I keep getting fucked.

Oh, by the way, I can't get fucked. Yeah, that's right, I'm gay, with extremely homophobic dad leaving an open-ended threat to kick out any gay offspring. So, not only do I not have time to try to meet people, I can't even express a desire to.

Possibly the worst part is that my parents basically just poo-poo my suffering. "Yeah, it's crappy, but it's nothing compared to when *I* was a kid..."

Well, fuck you both, neither of you two worked their asses off since age 7 to get straight A's, graduate from IB, and get into a good college, which, spoilers, I can't fucking afford if it wasn't for my god damned merit-based scholarships. So if I fuck up once, I'm done. All my work for nothing.

I'm trapped in a fucking glass jar and I can't do anything to get out.

I was at work today and some fucking lady came in with her ~9 year old daughter. And while she was having physical therapy she made her daughter sit and read the bible to her out loud. WHO THE FUCK DOES THAT? WHY CAN'T PEOPLE JUST LET THEIR KIDS BE FUCKING KIDS? WHY DO YOU IMPOSE YOUR RELIGION, POLITICS, RACISM, AND OTHER STUPID SHIT ONTO YOUR KIDS. YOU ARE DESTROYING THEM. As a father it drives me apeshit when people try to turn their kids into tiny clones of themselves. It's one thing to have values, it's another to pound stupid shit into their heads all day every day and brainwash them. It's sad. Fucking sad.

Fuck this fucking game. I haven't played in over a year and now I can't play without raging. Can't even enjoy winning for fuck's sake, and everything makes me mad.

Edit: I don't know why or how, but Starcraft II at some point got hold of that part of my brain that controls my self-esteem or something, because when even the slightest thing goes wrong it just makes me feel fucking worthless. I don't get it. It's just a game. It should be fun. When I think about playing it I think it'll be fun, but I just end up raging so hard, not just at the game, but at myself too. Like I just had a game where someone snuck a pylon in my base and started warping in Stalkers. I was on three bases (two of them saturated), and they were on one base. I didn't have ling speed yet so I ended up fucking chasing around blink stalkers with slow lings for 6 minutes while they slowly pecked away at my lair, which they eventually killed.

So you can guess at this point that I was feeling pretty fucking stupid and emasculated and all that good stuff, when I did a small counter attack with what lings I had left and found out he didn't have jack shit to defend. I expected a wall of cannons but didn't find not damn one. Meanwhile I had a huge bank and two bases and was rebuilding my lair. So long story short I won quite handily, but I still felt really terrible, which prompted this rant. I dunno, whatever.

Edi2: Reminds me of this blog post I wrote a long time ago on a similar subject, which Day9 actually responded to with some really helpful advice. I'm not hitting myself anymore, so that's good.

New season gonna start, just got hyped from watching Polt play in the recent WCS AM, and of course stoked to try out the new maps. My goal is to get back into Masters this season. But there's a problem. I have a fucking loaded second summer session with 12 credit hours worth of work to do crammed in a tiny 1 1/2 month period. Fuck my life, and fuck learning the value of priorities.

Nina, I couldn't agree more. It was good when it was first bumped earlier last month, but it quickly became a shitstorm after about a week or so and I gave up trying to properly counter anything when people were posting shit that made no sense and barely even vaguely referenced the previous post. Bunch of idiots who didn't know the meaning of "counter" ruined the thread.
