+ Show Spoiler +If that's directed at me, well, I actually only complain very rarely. Like,I get a little whiny and pissy at myself, then I tell myself to stop doing that and figure out a solution.
Though I had the worst experience moving out ever the last 72 hours. I got my apartment lease a couple days ago, they told us the next day to get the key when they changed the lock (previous owner had some problems). Then they tell us we have to call Georgia Power to turn on the power before we can get the key. Okay, cool-- I call Georgia Power, give them a bunch of info like SSN, mother's maiden name, some other stuff, then they tell us that's not enough and we have to come in. However, talking to them has taken two hours, it's almost 5 and they close. Like, why do we have to go in person?
So that night I have all my stuff in a uhaul. I end up stashing it in one of my university's parking deck and crashing in my old freshman dorm in an empty room (I have a lot of RA friends). That's chill, but I miss the Chainsmokers concert that I really wanted to go to as a result
So next morning, we go bright and early to Georgia Power. Turns out the office location we were told to go to had moved a week ago. Finally, we go to the next location. We wait for an hour in line, then get to the lady there and she tells us I need my social security card in addition to driver's license and a phone bill, so we can't turn on power.
At that point, I just dump all my stuff at my friend's brother's apartment. He's really nice about it. I finally return the uhaul, but I've spent over $100 because of the mileage on it.
Aaaaand finally I get to the megabus station with my friend. We wait for an hour for it to show up, then I find out they fucked up my reservation so I'm actually on a bus that leaves 6 hours later. I ask if I can get on if there's extra space, and the lady says there isn't. 10 minutes after the bus leaves, I get a snapchat of a half empty bus. Really?

+ Show Spoiler + I have a really bad pet peeve.
I was watching the Starbow cast on basetradetv and the chat nearly made me rage. Nearly. The game is very brood war-ish, so I actually had a really good idea of who was doing well, and who wasn't. It doesn't matter if all the SC2 nerds had no idea what the hell was happening, as long as they were having fun. And I think they were - there was like 2k viewers when I checked it last. I actually didn't mind the people going "What is this?" and asking "What is that unit?" and "How does that work?"... no, the thing that really fucking pissed me off wasn't the excessive use of Kappas, or people yelling about how "op" everything is (and by the way, how can EVERYTHING be overpowered? Or maybe it's an unfunny 'ironic' nerd joke) but when it came to chatters talking about strategy. I saw a zerg player "TheRedBandit" open with two base, three hatch, which I didn't find to be odd in the slightest. It was against a protoss, so I figured it was either some kind of hydra or muta bust, but then he used his fourth hatch to take an expansion. I mentioned it in the chat, and someone said that the timings for protoss don't allow for double-expanding. But it worked out. Kind of. RedBandit just got speed first and double-expo'd in game 2, and was able to easily fend off any zealot harass, and the timings looked exactly identical to Brood War, and in fact, RedBandit had lurkers in time for a +1 4gate speedlot timing, which you can't do in Brood War.
Long story short: I was right and you can double expo in starbow against protoss. The more I watched, the more broodwaresque I realized the mod is. Even the army sizes and engagements were easy for me to predict based on what I saw in Brood War.
So then, this one guy joins the chat, and he's like spouting all kinds of facts about Brood War like he knows shit, but he doesn't know shit, so he started just saying ridiculous shit like "Lurker openings don't work versus Terran" and that Savior never did mutalisk openings and that people only started doing mutalisks when Jaedong was playing. Uh, dude, ever heard of fuckin' JulyZerg? You know, the one who popularized muta openings, and gave me my StarCraft name? And so he was like "This lurker build isn't working, he should go mutas" and I tried to point out that it was a ridiculous mismatch, because Bogus played TvZ as a pro in Brood War, so of course some random Starbow noob is going to get his shit kicked in w/ ease. Not that Franscar is a "noob", but Bogus made the games look easy.
And of course, people didn't understand the faraway third base and kept thinking it was a hidden base.
So, in summary: SC2 fans are disgusting morons in the twitch chats, but Brood War snobs in Starbow chats are probably just as bad. Especially when they get all snobby about Brood War like "It's so much better than SC2", and talk about Brood War strategy and shit, and THEN DON'T EVEN PLAY THE FUCKING GAME OR EVEN HAVE IT INSTALLED ON THEIR COMPUTERS, WHY NOT JUST COMMENTATE ON BRAIN SURGERY AND GIVE THE DOCTORS SOME ADVICE ON HOW TO DO SOME NEURAL GRAFTING OR WHATEVER.
But, that being said, I love everyone, but I had to get that off my chest.

+ Show Spoiler + Hello casters for sc2 or BW or whatever game you talk about and pretend to understand. Will you stop using renditions of the following phrase: "And with this move Player X is saying to Player Y ''ok you can do this [insert tactical move] to me but I will go and kick your ass by doing this [insert tactical move] to you.'"
Your attempts to add a persona to a player based on his/her decision making in the game only works to highlight your ignorance about what is standard/nonstandard in the matchup. If I was a high level player I would abhor having individuals with minor understanding of the game apply narratives to my strategy in an attempt to romanticize the game in such a naive and tryhard way. There is nothing wrong with being a noob. There is nothing wrong with being a noob who talks about things that they know nothing about so long as they are self aware of this fact. What is most annoying though is noobs who not only deny that they know nothing about the games they are talking about (so that they can continue to justify talking) but who also must put words (and sentiments) into the mouths of others who actually are rolling about in the mud, figuring out the underlying strategies within a game. I don't know who started this particular trend of speaking for esports athletes but it spread rapidly in commentaries recently and has gotten completely overused very fast. I cannot watch 3 commentated videos in a row without this technique being done in at least one of them.

+ Show Spoiler +You know what I have noticed talking to low masters or lower sc2 players/low level BW players versus High Masters or higher sc2 players/ D+ or higher BW players?
The former of the two groups thinks random thoughts about the games are true because they remotely make sense in their head. The same head that thinks unit compositions are a build order. The latter of the two player types is very open to what they don't know about the games, and doesn't tend to claim anything too intensely. On some level it pisses me off because I have to deal with them spreading their nonsense around the forums where they see themselves as "totally strategically superior to pro players but with slow fingers". On the other hand I don't care what they say because I get to spawn terran shits on top of their heads when their retched ilk exasperatedly tries to ladder up their ranking like it's a sacred daily ritual bestown onto them by a cult leader whom they fanatically follow.
Eat my poop noobs.
Eat it.
mmmm...
Pooop.

+ Show Spoiler +The main purpose of commentary is to explain viewers who need help understanding what's going on, what's going on in the game. If you feel like you can discern the game simply from the production tab and need no more than that, feel free to hit the mute button. Otherwise, sit through it and try to appreciate that someone who knows nothing about this game is being either slightly more informed or slightly more entertained with the uttering of that sentence.

+ Show Spoiler +Another thing that has always bothered me in commentaries is the overuse of the passive voice. The zerg player DOES SEE the drop coming. The terran DOES KNOW that he is behind now. And they always put so much emphasis on the passive verb too. Sigh.
Edited to add: Apparently I'm an idiot and these are just auxillary constructs used for emphasis. They would only be in the passive voice if the main verb were in the past participle tense whereas in my examples they are in the present tense. Sorry for the confusion if anyone read this before the edit, and I'm officially revoking my own license as a grammar nazi.

+ Show Spoiler +It's not the emphasizing itself -- I get that. The reason why they're using passive over active is presumably to be emphatic. But why does everything need to be emphasized? It seems like it's to hype the match up, but I don't think every single move needs to be SUPER IMPORTANT, and for grammar nazis such as myself, it just distracts from the actual commentary. I'm sure many people don't even notice this though.
