My sister is a classical guitarist from Juilliard, and I can confidently say that you play this piece better than you think. You seem to know what aspects of the phrasings need improving, so I'll leave you be, but overall it's very nice

This is me and my Epiphone Dot (which is modeled after the Gibson 335 I believe). I got her for $200 and I lurve her. Not a great player myself by any means, just something I play on the side for fun. My acoustic guitar which I don't have a picture of is a Taylor 110D, nothing special but does what I want it to do.

If i may ask, where did she record this? was it in a studio, church or large hall?

Jesus Christ read the thread. Someone posted a Martin just one page ago.

Edit: Oh, you mean the poll. Yeah, I agree it's ridiculous that the big names have been left out. I'm a Taylor guitarist myself.

Awesome! This is the first time I've seen this thread and I'm quite pleased to have found it
I've played guitar for about 2-3 years and I still feel like a scrub. All the equipment i have is damaged and cheap and I have little money to get better stuff. However I get better each and every day : )

Wuhuu! My friends super duper surprised me on my birthday with an acoustic Guitar

I promised them that I'd learn at least 4-5 songs before New Years. I just finished learning how to tune one. Gonna start to work on some chords and some music theory now :D

Nice work getting straight into the theory. Once you play around with learning all the chords in a key and messing around with the major scale you'll be able to play 10000000 songs :D

If you don't enjoy what you are doing, then what you are aiming for will be filled with the negativity that came attaining it

My guitar:
Fender CD60.

It's not expensive, you can say it's on the cheap side for a guitar ($280) but wow, the sound it gives off is amazing. Still a beginner, have been playing for about a month and getting guitar lessons once every week.

Not sure if it's really relevant, but

http://online.wsj.com/article/SB10001424053111904787404576530520471223268.html

John Thomas, a law professor at Quinnipiac University and a blues and ragtime guitarist, says "there's a lot of anxiety, and it's well justified." Once upon a time, he would have taken one of his vintage guitars on his travels. Now, "I don't go out of the country with a wooden guitar."

The tangled intersection of international laws is enforced through a thicket of paperwork. Recent revisions to 1900's Lacey Act require that anyone crossing the U.S. border declare every bit of flora or fauna being brought into the country. One is under "strict liability" to fill out the paperwork—and without any mistakes.

It's not enough to know that the body of your old guitar is made of spruce and maple: What's the bridge made of? If it's ebony, do you have the paperwork to show when and where that wood was harvested and when and where it was made into a bridge? Is the nut holding the strings at the guitar's headstock bone, or could it be ivory? "Even if you have no knowledge—despite Herculean efforts to obtain it—that some piece of your guitar, no matter how small, was obtained illegally, you lose your guitar forever," Prof. Thomas has written. "Oh, and you'll be fined $250 for that false (or missing) information in your Lacey Act Import Declaration."

Consider the recent experience of Pascal Vieillard, whose Atlanta-area company, A-440 Pianos, imported several antique Bösendorfers. Mr. Vieillard asked officials at the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species how to fill out the correct paperwork—which simply encouraged them to alert U.S. Customs to give his shipment added scrutiny.

There was never any question that the instruments were old enough to have grandfathered ivory keys. But Mr. Vieillard didn't have his paperwork straight when two-dozen federal agents came calling.

Facing criminal charges that might have put him in prison for years, Mr. Vieillard pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor count of violating the Lacey Act, and was handed a $17,500 fine and three years probation.

Hide your kids and hide your wife. The feds are coming after your "illegal" instruments. :O

Thought it would be neat to not post the make of my guitars, and see if anyone can guess them. The farthest right is the most obvious, the other two are a little more tricky. My apologies for the low quality, cell phone camera ftl

Left: Made by Profile, believe also that it was made in Korea? My original hand me down guitar. Middle: Remake of the Les Paul by Vintage. I don't believe these are made anymore? Right: 88 American Fender Strat. My baby.

Thanks bro! It's a good site indeed! I've already learned 3 chords, and my fingers hurt like hell!! :D

After a while of my guitar hanging in the wall mounting I finally picked it up again (motivated by a few beers)

This is the result (might be a bit loud and overdriven):

I never played the whole song so far just practiced a few parts a while back, but it doesn't get any more complicated than what I already know

For reference the whole song:
+ Show Spoiler +

As you can see in the background, I also have a drumset in the back, which I'm able to use at an adequate level for this song. Now I'm just wondering if I should try to completely recored this song by myself (playing all instruments) or if the guitar will hang in the wall mount for another year without being used
I has a flavor

I bought a Hagstrom XL-5 Ultralux and started taking lessons. Unfortunately I had to cut back due to being made redundant but I think the guitar looks sexy still!

I'm using a Fender Squier Bullet Strat at present (I know, I know, it sucks) but looking at buying an ESP EC series guitar. The only thing holding me back is the price, for pretty much everything is rather expensive here because it has to be imported with the already high exchange rate we have with the US Dollar. I really need another guitar, as I think this one is holding me back a bit. I mainly play death metal music and am quite good at it.

I own a ruby-red fender, but i'm currently hand-crafting guitars to get ready for my future job of... handcrafting guitars. I'm honestly working on a special one for TL and wanted to give it to the site to auction off when ever TL does a charity event, when I finish it.

But these are the guitars I own-

Hyundai Acoustic, I own steel stings for it

Fender Strat, Red and black, it's a garbage 80 dollar guitar I got for only 10 bucks.

Fender Strat, Ruby red, hand crafted with a carving knife, special ordered cost me $1,300

Hyundai Acoustic Bass.
