And, it's red!

A pignose guitar isn't a bad guitar, really awful guitars are actually kind of hard too find, and by hard to find I mean a guitar from wallmart.

Cause I've seen TL help a lot of beginners with not only SC but pretty much everything. And as a guy trying to learn guitar, I would love to see the tips and advice from fellow TL guitarists

That said I'm not sure how much guitar you can really learn from a thread. You can learn music theory and you can get help transcribing songs but the guitar, like many musical instruments, is not actually something that takes a ton of time to learn, but something that takes a lot of practice to actually be able to play . If you buy a guitar and maybe learn some chords and scales then all you really need is time to practice and a set of ears to listen . Back on guitars, I'm currently playing a Epiphone Les Paul which I am quite fond of. Never had a Les Paul before but it is pretty damn awesome.

I agree with this somewhat although it depends on what kind of amp you have. For example in my rig I have a Fuchs Overdrive Supreme 50 watt tube head and a custom lopo 2x12 cab with eminence speakers. The fuchs ODS is designed to have an absolutely flat response, in that it is supposed to color the tone of the guitar as little as possible. If you plug different guitars into this amplifier, you can hear every little nuance and difference between guitars. Understand however that I mainly play funk / jazz / fusion / soul , so to maximize versatility I like keeping my tone as uncolored as possible by the amp (which you cannot really control) so that I can color it however I want it with effects and pedals. (with an amp like this a high quality clean boost / overdrive pedal will shine brilliantly) This brings me to my next point, that there is a huge difference between quality of guitars. Basically in my experience (playing for 11 years, gigging in bands for 6) there is absolutey no substitute for a hand made guitar. All production made guiatrs (read basically anything you dont get from a custom shop or a boutique store) are garbage relatively. I have owned a fender strat, a jackson soloist, and while they were good guitars for what i needed them for, they are absolutely nothing compared to my Parker Fly Custom. The Fly is such an amazing guitar, if you ever have a chance to play one, please take it. It is made from carbon fiber and aircraft grade titanium (no wood at all) this means it is ultra lightweight, slim and for some reason has an unlimited amount of sustain. I mean like if you just tap the body it resonates forever. It has 2 humbuckers and a piezo pickup underneath the bridge, and you can plug a stereo instrument cable in (with 2 connecters on one end and one on the other) and output the piezo (sounds just like an acoustic) and the magnetic (humbuckers) to seperate amps or channels. If you dont want to do that you can also just mix the 2 sections with knobs. It also has the lowest action ive ever seen on a guitar without buzzing (if you want to set it up that way). The best thing about the Fly however is it has one of the most balanced tones ive ever heard on a guitar. Ive heard some people complaining about these guitars saying that it has too balanced of a tone (because they want some permanent gain or eq boost... which is sad because you can add all of that with effects) TLDR : IMO the guitar you use makes a huge difference on your tone, but if you have an amplifier that gives your tone a color ( like the difference between a fender amp and a marshall amp) then you wont be able to tell your guitars tone as much, whereas if you use a custom built hand made boutique amplifier that is designed not to color your tone (and allow you to do it yourself with effects) then your guitar will have a huge impact on the shaping of your tone. Here is a picture of my most prized possession, my parker fly. (well one that looks just like it) Here is what my head looks like

In answer to your question, If you've got around 200 bucks spare cash you can get a line 6 floor pod. I know thats a bit pricey but you'd be able to get that Metallica sound within a few minutes, and basically any other you could ever need!

I tested them side by side and there is no noise or other problems with it. It also has a metal-case what makes it better than other cheep products with plastic cases. I would give it a try if you need an EQ and if you dont like it for any reason you can send it back to Thomann within 30 days. I also use the Delay from HB and it is awesome as well. Though, I only use it to thicken my solo sound, not for atmospheric long delays so I cannot tell you if it is good for this as well
