Don't buy Fender amps... they are Tube amps but they have too mcuh electronics in them. I like mine, don't get me wrong, but I wish I would have bought something else like an Orange. VOX are tight too, I want to get something liek 2'x2', I might trade in my big 30w amp, I honestly never even use it its just way too loud even at like 3 volume.

omg sooooooo dumb.

I guess my fender deville has too much ellectroonics, that's how it sounds so clean.

well if that shit burns out its gonan be mad expensive to fix. I have a deville too, it is pretty sick, but I am worried about cranking it all the time. If you fry a circuit board its going to be so much to pay a technician to fix. You burn out a tube its mad easy for any average amp repair guy to fix. I suppose thats really the only downside to it. I kind of just wish i bought something different, it is pretty sick though but I never really play it.

it is the Fender G-Dec, it has like 100 built in sounds, you can do a ton to it. it gets way more use to be honest, and its pretty much loud enough to play with drums if you get the bigger one.

I dont kknow, once I saw the Orange amps I started to like those a lot more, they just have way more character to them, but I never really realized how hard it is to get a clean sound out of those kind of amps. the deville was my first big amp i just got it last year.

Not only is it a gorgeous piece of eye candy, it also has beautiful clean tones and a brutal low-end. The thing is that my amp doesn't really do it justice, although for its size it packs quite a wallop. I'm thinking of getting a midrange blackstar or peavey. I'm also using a Boss zoom G1X pedal, which has some distortion options on it that are just punishingly heavy. I can get some amazing sounds out of that pedal!

I just wanted to tell all you guitar players out there that on the Google homepage you can play guitar! It's not hard, as the strings are put together in chords that go well together.

I'm primarily a bass player. But I like B.C. Rich guitars a lot. I am eyeing their Stealth model right now actually.

My dad has some really awesome classic Les Pauls he has had since the 60s when he was young.

Lots of gear nerds here

I have a cheap strat knockoff and a peavy vypyr modelling amp, practice 4-8 hours a day though and I doubt anyone who doesn't play guitar would ever know I use cheap gear

Anyone here frequent ultimate-guitar.com? I lurk the boards there a lot...

Yep its a crappy $119 Squier strat but it's all I need, I'm just learning now. No one cares if I'm practicing in my room with a low quality instrument, and I still love it haha

I also have an acoustic guitar, I don't really know much about it, but on the sticker inside it it says 'CG Conn Ltd. Oakbrook Illinois. Imported from Japan' or something of that nature

I'm reviving the guitar thread with a trivial question, but I guess it's better than making a new thread for 1 question

I have a set of medium strings on my acoustic guitar (13-56). They're pretty new, but for whatever godforsaken reason my D string snapped. Now normally I'd just buy a new D string (happens to be a 35), but I happen to have a set of 12's lying around (D string is a 32). So the question is: can I use the 32 in place of the 35? Or should I just stop being an idiot and buy a new 35?

Currently I play a pretty standard MM Stratocaster. I've never really had the money to get new pickups in it or get a new guitar, but I love playing Iron maiden & hendrix stuff so I have a real love for stratocasters.
Currently my (reasonable) dream guitar would be a highway one stratocaster with 3 Seymour Duncan SHR-1 Hot Rails (it's what dave murray plays with). I want to try and get a hold of a cream colored one in the future, with a maple neck, white pick guard, to look like hendrix's but sound like dave murray's strat

I still have my 8-year old Denver classical guitar, whose fingerboard's black stain has come off little by little over the years until the neck's basically brown now.

Been playing electric for 4-5 years, got a Epiphone SG for 350 bucks and it's hooked up to my Peavey 6505+ combo. Ah, economy equipment for a poor student.

Luckily I'm working full time now and raking in the cash so I'm on the prowl for a new, nicer guitar. Looking to put down 1500-2000.

BTW has anyone gone from double cutaway (eg a SG) to a single cutaway? On my SG, where the neck meets the body is also very thin and curves smoothly (unlike most guitars). Do you ever get used to the single cutaway and/or fat neck/body connection? I've been to some stores and just sitting down and playing those guitars are awkward.
