Alright I am sick of warning people: Trolling, flame baiting, and derailing will result in insta bans. The same goes for conspiracy theorists and stupidity generally.
Confirmation was as follows - On-site DNA test which came back as 99% positive. - photos of face sent to CIA and confirmed with photo analysis - confirmed by 20 year old wife who live in pakistan.
This thread is specifically dedicated to the details surrounding the raid/his death.

He's already been sentenced to death by proxy trial, and had a shoot on sight order. Better to guarantee you get him by firing immediately rather than risk letting him escape by attempting a capture.

Apparently there was a firefight. What do you expect them to do? Kindly ask Bin Laden to not shoot at them?

ABC was saying that he was actually involved in the firefight and I doubt they were going to risk getting soldiers killed in an attempt to take him alive. It was also reported that they took everything of value (intelligence speaking) from the house and photographed the rest so it's not like they left empty handed.
how come people are saying that pakistan is under heat for possibly harboring bin laden when obama himself said in his address that the mission was accomplished via joint efforts by us and pakistan govt.

reports say he tried to put up a fight so I don't think they had a choice.

Joint efforts yet Pakistan wasn't even informed of the operation until the last possible moment in an effort to prevent leaks.

My former eng teacher said that the original BBC story or something said otherwise.
