Here is my Team Liquid RainMeter skin.
LiquidMeter
![[image loading]](http://imgur.com/EHIZj.png)
---------------------------------------- Steps:
1.Download rar file [url blocked]
2.Extract /teamliquid to Skins folder
3.Restart rainmeter
4.Load and tune in!!!
------------------------------------------
Version 1.0
I apologize for the delay and the fact that it stopped working, i got really busy and i formatted my pc so i wasnt using rainmeter up til now. So for now the skin works. Please report any bugs or feedback here. Thanks.
On Air: The on air section can show up to 10 on air events. Clicking on an event will take you to the event on the TL calender.
Upcoming events: Shows up to 5 upcoming events. Clicking on an event will take you to the event on the TL calender. The old system had KST timing for all events so if you mouse over the clock, you will get the current KST time.
----------------------------------------- Future additions
Top 5-7-10 featured streams that actually shows race logos, this kind of works but im currently testing.
------------------------------------------
Old Versions + Show Spoiler +Version 0.5B
-The "Upcoming Events" works a 100%, but i still am not so sure about the "On Air" but i'm posting it so you can help me report bugs. Report bugs here please guys so you can help me make this better.
-Right now, the only action you can do is a middle mouse button click on any part of any of the skins to open the main team liquid page.
----------------------------------------- Future additions
-Clicking on an event opens specific link.
What more should i add?
Im looking forward to seeing any suggestions and your own design implementations. So post after your done please =p
|
Thanks for a skin, looks great on my desktop: + Show Spoiler + Definitely need -Clicking on an event opens specific link With that feature the skin would be completed, can't think of anything more to add.
|
Looks cool, very nice. Links to live streams would be a neat addition imo
|
United Arab Emirates333 Posts
I can figure out a way to manage a current event's live streamers( i think). Definitely will work on that. Im just wondering if i should have one for current live streams, like non event ones. But at times we have 20-22 streamers. Maybe top 5 streamers, top 5 in terms of viewers at the moment?
Guys please report any bugs you see. And i currently have it to list only 5 of "ON AIR" events. Maybe i need more? Thats a small adjustment but i just havent seen more than 5 live at atime. But i will fix that to 7-8 through my next iteration.
|
Not bad, looking forward to see what you do with this project. :D
|
Added it to mine. Thanks a bunch!
P.S. Is there possibly a way we can get one made for the recently updated and latest threads, much like the ones here on teamliquids sidebar?

This is awesome! Thanks a bunch. I don't know if this is something you might want to add but I'll throw the idea out here: You might want to add a clock with the current time in KST.

Damn thats clever. Saves the time for clicking link. Ill probably be doing version 2 when the GSL starts. I usually "program" when watching matches that dont necessarily interest me.
Keep em coming. Ideas that is.
|
what a perfect screenshot ^_^
|
Excellent. Rainmeter could definitely use this, haha
|
holy wow! the only thing this needs a list of the featured streams that are currently streaming. That would make this the ultimate. Ty, none the less
|
yeah, or let us choose what streams we want to be updated with, that'd be great too. Dunno how that would work, but whatever.
as it is, this is great!

i think i'm doing it wrong

So badass. Deserves to be featured.
Thanks for your work!

Great work man, looking forward to future updates.
I fiddled around with it a bit so it looks more like the standard enigma layout. Down below for anyone who wants it.

You can use Rainmeter on XP.
Also OP this is great, and as others have said a link to the Live Streams would be fantastic as well

Is there a way to change displayed Korean time into CET?
Edit:
What I've been doing so far is using Enigma's Google Calendar Reader skin together with the TL Calendar from this thread: http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/viewmessage.php?topic_id=160534
And it's working ok, it's just that I can't find out how to have the times displayed in my timezone (CET) instead of in Korean. I've tried editing the skin but nothing so far.

I know it is possible but it is really way too hard. Rainmeter's coding is just so hard. I spent a few days trying to get one small thing off this website. I finally managed to get it though. I try to stay away from any real programming logic when it comes to Rainmeter because its often too much work for something that isnt worth it. So regarding your conversion i dont doubt that its possible but its going to require ALOT of work. Try the rainmeter forums.
As for me, still working on the skins. I was stuck for a few days on one thing and i got it to work. At this point im just testing and refining. =)

Just curious, any news on this? I'm sure a lot of TLers would find this useful
|
On February 12 2011 02:25 CyberPitz wrote:Just curious, any news on this? I'm sure a lot of TLers would find this useful Yeah any further updates on the way? The skin seems to no longer grab the upcoming events from the TL site anymore. Possibly something to do with their new format of 'time left till event' as opposed to 'time event begins'.
|
ty op this is awesome, DLing now.
|
If you do update this to work with the new time format for the events, is it possible to add it on to other rainmeter skins like Enigma?
|
Holy shit that's great. I am going to dl this. Thanks EDIT: Why is there nothing under the upcoming events

Love the idea, i have changed a few of my own rainmeter skins to link them to TL, but i really hope work on this gets started again
|
I have a related question. I want to make a skin using the bottom UI bar from SC2 (putting a clock where the game timer is, hotkey spots to launch programs, etc.) Is anyone an expert on Blizzard legal policies? Would I need permission to use the bar and if so, do you think they would give it? Thanks for any input.

Yeah i can edit all my posts except the main one. Would you know why?

I have my files all set up and they show up in configs but when I select them and restart rainmeter they dont show up any ideas?
The files are saved as .ini in documents>rainmeter>skins>On Air/Upcoming in 2 seperate files.
Sorry I'm new to rainmeter.
|
United Arab Emirates333 Posts
I doubt they will work that way because ive designed it in a way to work as "teamliquid/On air and teamliquid/Upcoming.
Anyhow, give me 30 minutes to upload the new version before trying anything.
Edit: New version is up. GO GO GO

I must be doing something horribly wrong...I followed the steps in the OP, so the skin installed fine...but maybe it's because I'm a giant newb to RainMeter and can't configure it properly. this is all I get...
![[image loading]](http://i.imgur.com/eVopU.png)
Very small and hard to read. Also, not sure how to change colors...
I must really be bad at this.

I have completely same problem

|
Because it's the default skin, and I haven't gotten rid of it. Pretty obvious answer, if you ask me.
|
This looks awesome. Will DL soon.
|
Hmm, is there any way to change the font size/bold? I am trying to get it to fit with my current (Gnometer) rainmeter.
|
How do you edit the TL skin to be all white?
|
After looking through the code, it looks like the TL rainmeter skins leech off the colours from Enigma. Go into documents>Rainmeter>Skins>Enigma>Resources>Variables>UserVariables.inc
Open the .inc file with Notepad, and scroll down to where it says this:
Color1=255, 255, 255, 255 Color2=255, 255, 255, 160 Color3=255, 255, 255, 80
If you want to use another colour other than White, Grey or blackish gray, then add "Color4=(Red0-255), (Green0-255), (Blue0-255), (Brightness0-255)"
Otherwise, you do not need to modify anything in this file.
Next, right click on the TL rainmeter things on your desktop and right click edit (or you can go through the folders to On Air/Upcoming Events.ini.
Anywhere in the file it says "#Color2#", replace that with either "#Color1#" for white, "#Color3# " for blackish grey and "#Color4#" for your custom colour. Do this the same with the other one, and all your text is in the different colour.
|
What if we don't have an "Enigma" folder in Skins..?

You don't? Wierd... Iirc Enigma was one of the starter skins it gives you.
|
illustro is the starter skin I've got with Rainmeter version 2.0 (Just installed it today)
|
Enigma is just one of the themes offered direct from rainmeter.net
It combines really well with Blue Vision, if you happen to use that. Enigma also has a rather awesome semi-opaque sidebar you can put behind your skins.
|
United Arab Emirates333 Posts
I guess just download enigma but don't use it as your main skin. Would that work?
|
On July 02 2011 07:42 MarwanBaki wrote: I guess just download enigma but don't use it as your main skin. Would that work?
Yeah, I think so, as long as the settings file is there. I personally mix and match anyways, to get what looks best to me, so I have some enigma up with my BlueVision.
Like I said, that semi-opaque sidebar is really nice to stick behind minimalist skins to help make them more visible against wallpaper without breaking color scheme.
By the way, I love the TL skin, it's kept me from missing events quite a few times while i was doing other stuff.

Is there something inherently wrong with the way I suggested? It's much easier, and works.
Just curious, if the other way is actually better, I'd do it that way, but I'm pretty sure it's all the same,

I scrolled down to the colors and edited the values. After setting each one, hit set value, then after doing all of them, save all. Then just restart rainmeter or refresh each skin.

Editing the Font Size in the skin should do it, although if you make it much bigger, you'll need to adjust the Y value of each meter as well.
I believe... I haven't mucked around with skins much in a while...
|
United Arab Emirates333 Posts
That is true. To edit the size of the fonts, you'll have to edit the Enigma.ini file because i'm actually using their theme. And like Jingle Hell said, you'll then to have modify some of the Y coordinates in the teamliquid skins. If you can't figure out how to do that, let me know.
|

Hmm I must be using an old one, the font size for the meters is set individually in each meter for me.
And that's fine by me, if I decide to tweak, it's easier.

Actually you're right. To edit the size you can just open the INI file of each skin. The color on the otherhand. Im sure i've taken from the enigma skin. I guess ill work an INDEPENDENT skin next version

[offtopic] How do you make sure something is totally centered? I want my clock's center point to be at 960x540, but it puts its top-right corner there. Infuriating. [/offtopic]
Uhm, do some math based on the size of the skin, and figure out where the top right corner needs to be to put the center point there. Might be an easier way, but for precision, that's only one I know.
Just treat the skin as a rectangle, even if it isn't going to have the appearance of one in it's finished form. Find the middle coordinate, and add/subtract appropriately from x and y to put the imaginary square where you want it.

Nice one, creds for putting in the work in this!
So i'm quite new to Rainmeter, so I just wonder is there any way to change the color of the frame and such? I would like to remove the transparent bit and have frames around it, would fit my desktop much better. I been checking around, but haven't found any options to change it, so guess it is somewhere in the variables?
Happy for any help!

Hopefully that's a positive comment, and not laughing at me finding the hardest possible way or something. I haven't played with my own skins much, but I love me some rainmeter.
I just can't think of anything I want to do with it that I can't already find a skin for.

What theme are you using, and exactly what are you trying to do? Change the backgrounds? It depends on how the theme/skins are set up.

I need help. I'm terrible with rainmeter (Zoidberg slinky bad). I downloaded and installed as per instructions but nothing is coming up.
I don't know what to do and I'm sure I've made a mistake somewhere. I downloaded, copied the file into document/skins, loaded it and restarted rainmeter.. and nothing. + Show Spoiler [Screenshot of nothing] + Help?

Not taking away from this skin, but there are a large amount of existing RSS skins that you can simply reroute to TL. I can post a guide to this if enough people need help/are interested.

Guys i stopped working on the skin. I realized its the most inefficient way of getting your latest updates off the site. And as someone mentioned i'm sure there is a simpler way of getting that done. Also, since TL keeps changing the layout of the site, its impossible to keep up given my current obligations. I hope that if the person who suggested a new Rainmeter skin with the RSS idea can go ahead and make one and post it here, otherwise i'll have to do it in the coming months.
I love you all.
