I have a general question regarding big tournaments player's headsets. I didn't want to create a new thread just on this so i'll ask it here! I want to host a small live event and it would be awesome if we could cast the thing without having the players hear what the commentators are saying. It seems like in bigger tournaments, they use some kind of headset which prevents the player from hearing (or at least partially) what happens around him. Does anyone know what i'm talking about and if so, where I could get that? Is it being sold anywhere and if so, what's the price average for those? (i.e. yellow proleague headsets) Thank you Names

It is buyable in many webshop, just google it ! I think these used in gaming are "ear defenders". Edit : that's right ![]()

I just want a decent pair of durable strong in ear headphones and i can't seem to find ANY on the market.. Sennheiser HD25 (or it's sebsequent editions, HD25-II and the blue looking ones that came out recently, forgot their name). These things are indestructible. They've outlived far more expensive headphones that I own despite suffering much more abuse.

La1 how do they break? At the jack or at the ears? If it's at the jack consider a low profile right angle jack, if it's at the ears consider some that have ear molds for around the back of the ear (see below), as well as a clip on your shirt to stop the cord from yanking on them. ![]()

Where in his post does he say IEMs? But since you asked, my cheapo Klipsche S4s outlived all more expensive IEMs I own including Klipsche X10 and a pair of customs (among others).

http://www.amazon.com/Sennheiser-IE6-Dynamic-In-Ear-Headphones/dp/B00125UBUG My pair before that ( Dennons) died because they ended up in the washing machine... and the dennons before that ended up crushed by the car door of my car.. so yeah.. something that can take HEAVY abuse.. not just wear and tear. i personally don't like ear molds as i wear glasses..

I've had Dennon IEMs a few years ago. It's been a while but I would say that the Klipsche S4s are comparable in SQ. But yeah I was super surprised that my X10s broke before my S4s even though I took better care of the former.

After all, headphones offer greatly diminishing returns in audio quality once you go past a certain price point. The minimum acceptable sound quality differs from person to person, but for me personally, I've found that ~$50 ones usually satisfy my need for deep bass and rich mids. That was until a few ago, when I bought a pair of JBL-J01 that cost me 99 RMB or less than $20 USD. I just can't say enough good things about this gem; they offer comparable sound quality to $100 pairs of headphones, and I've found them to be really comfortable to wear as well. And no this is not an advertorial post haha, just recommending a great buy to fellow TL'ers. You really can't go wrong for $15 for this kind of sound quality.

So which are the best quality-to-price headphones out there ranging from at around 100-150 euro?? I've recently picked up a pair of Audio Technica sj-55's. Though not exactly your price range (i was shopping sub 100euro) they are pretty amazing i.m.o. I did quite a bit research into this headset, but do realize i looked for a headset that has good sound quality, good looks, comfort & portability. So if you're looking for something to use at home or don't care about looks (or think i have godawfull taste ofc) you might want to look further.

Anyone have some thoughts on those headphones? The M50's are my 2nd choice, the price is similar enough to be negligible, whichever is better is where I'll go. http://www.amazon.com/Audio-Technica-ATH-A900X-Audiophile-Closed-Back-Headphones/dp/B006V386UG

Firstly, I only need them for listening to music/game audio, no microphone necessary. Secondly, the most important thing is comfort. I frankly despise the feel of almost every headphone that I've tried; they either feel way too heavy, or they don't fit right, and it just bothers me. I also can't stand in-ear or on-ear models. I've been using the Bose AE line for years and they're basically the only headphones I've tried which fit me comfortably. I need to be wearing them for sometimes 10+ hours so it's really important for my headphones to be super-lightweight and comfortable. Biggest problem with the Bose for me is that they're not very durable. I travel with them frequently and the faux leather starts tearing, and I have to replace them often. Can anybody recommend something with a similar feel?

In his post he said "in ear headphones", which implies that they go inside your ears (i.e. IEMs), as opposed to over-ear (supra-aural, your rec) and around-ear (circumaural).
