Lately I have been searching for a headset that could fit my needs. Being that I need a headset with a built in mic.(Use a lot of VOIP programs among other things as well) Unfortunately for me headset I am currently using is a Razer Banshee. Though the Banshee is pretty durable believe it or not it just isn't fulfilling the needs I have anymore. To be frank I got a big head and this was one of the only headsets that actually fit me comfortably. My main problem is the weight of the headset as it puts a ton of pressure on my upper ears. So with that being said does anyone have any recommendations or suggestions that could possibly help me in my search? Thanks in advance!
I use a zalman zm-mic1 which costs $7 and clips on to the cord of most headphones. That will give you a lot more flexibility when it comes to picking a headphone that fits your needs.

Hey guys, I'm looking for good headphones to use on my laptop for everyday use. By everyday use I mean listening to music and playing counterstrike. After a few days of research, I'm leaning mostly towards the ath m50s because of its sound quality and relative cheapness. My only concern with them is their "soundstage" is fairly limited and would therefor not be very good for gaming. I figure maybe to get an external sound card, like the asus xonar u3, to provide virtual surround sound, although I'm afraid it won't do any good. Your thoughts and suggestions as to whether or not the m50s are a good idea is much appreciated.I am looking to spend about $100.
Thank you.

Need an advice. I love the look of BOSE AE2, they look classy and I like the style, however a lot of audio enthusiasts have been bashing BOSE as too expensive for what they are, pretty like much what beats are for young kids and bose are for rich folks who understand nothing about audio. Saying this I also heard that AE2 have had a great improvement, and the sound balance has been nice, together with them being really comfortable. But I really like the look for them, and something that I can wear in public without looking silly wearing beats (for some reaosn whenever I see people wearing beats, and there are a lot of them, I just get some kind of annoyance, I can't see myself wearing them). Anyone owns these? I am looking to upgrade from sennheiser hd201 (the cheapest senns you can get really). How are they at isolating sound, since they are not noise cancelling headphones. How would the compare against sennheiser hd 201, would it be a "hearable" upgrade? Would it still isolate some sound, how would it do at that say to sennheiser of beats PRO?

Looking for someone that has some insight. I have a pair of Sennheiser PC 160, the updated version PC 161 i cannot find anywhere - are they discontinued? I got a PC 151 for my birthday but i am unsure if i am to keep them, they are a lot smaller. And from trying them out quickly it feels like the soundquality, bass especially, is a tad worse.
I love my 160's, they've taken an insane beating and are still going strong, only reason to replace them is because the mantle or whatever holding them together is pretty loose now so they keep slipping down into my face after a few hours. The sound and mic however are still stellar. So is it impossible to get a pair of 161's?

I'm looking for a recommendation for a set of headphones in the 100$ range. I'll mostly be using them while studying on campus and walking around so they can't be too heavy.
Either closed or semi open, I don't really have a preference. I've been using my Steelserries Serbia's but they quite frankly look a bit silly when it comes to being in a public place.
Note: Not gaming headphones with a mic, I already have a set for that.
It will be plugged into my iPhone at least 50% of the time so it needs to sound decent without an amp.

How do you guys feel about the SteelSeries 7h? I got a pair for fifty bucks and I'm rather in love with retractable mics, and I generally find them to be visually pleasing.
I'm not really on the up and up with quality headsets (or at least why it is that they're quality) so how d'you more informed folks feel about the SteelSeries 7h?
Please and thank you. :>

So how do you like them?

Classic headphones first released sometime in the 80s, made in Germany, pretty easy to find replacement parts for it (pads, cable, headband etc) which comes in handy since they do wear a bit but never break. sound pretty flat to me however I'm pretty deaf so don't count on my sound judgement
I really want to save up for the Beyers Tesla series for my bday or something but the fact that I'll need to get a new amp to actually benefit is no good for my wallet.
Have fun shopping for new headphones, as everyone else recommends try and find some place where you can try a bunch of them

Medium amount of bass and I'm really not an audiophile so I'm a bit clueless about all the ranges, hence looking for a decent suggestion from you guys.
I listen to classical and piano solos when studying and various instrumental hip/hop, rap/hip-hop and experimental edm while gaming and whatnot.
Biggest criteria is that they are portable and sturdy enough to be lugged around on train/bus and campus.
Also I'll bump price range up to 150$ if that'll help.

Is there a difference between the PRO and Non Pro as well as the OHM differences?
I hear that there is no difference between pro/non-pro and the OHM has its minor disparities. Please let me know....

I'd recommend the audio technica m50's (they're in the 100-150 range) which are decently portable but not small by any means. Definitely well built though.
I've got an AKG pair like this that i use for more portability but they go on the ear instead of around the ear. I like em alot though. I use my m50s though whenever i'm at my desk though.

Pros are 80ohms I think the Non Pros are around 30ohms, If you want to to connect to a large variety of players (computer, phone, mp3 players etc) without having to use a dedicated headphones amplifier the Non Pros could be a safer bet, however I do use my Pros with my IPhone and they seem to work fine not like I can tell the difference listening to low quality online radio stations, when you get to studio grade headphones having a good source / amp is important if you want to get the most out of the headphones.

I was hoping that I could possibly get some help with picking some headphones. So I was looking at the Dr. Dre Beats the Solo ones and I liked those but after reading some reviews I have read that they are over priced for the sound quality that they give as well as that they are easy to break. So I am still looking for a pair, they are basically going to be used for my laptop when I listen to music or play SC2 or just feel like sitting and listening to music. They won't be used for on the go or anything maybe just for a walk. I have found these and they have a good reviews. http://www.amazon.com/Urbanears-00150609-Plattan-Headphones-Black/dp/B0030IY17C I was hoping if anybody could give me some suggestions on a pair with good sound quality and don't break the bank. Thank you for any help.
