I'm debating just getting another pair of MDR-V6s, but there's a few minor things which I think could be improved. The only ones I can think of for under 200 with detachable cables are V-Moda m80 and LP2. Haven't heard the mdr-v6 so I cant comment on their sound qualities. What is a detachable cable? I had Shure SR440's and their headphone cable came off and they were about 70 on amazon when they were half off.

After a lot of research, these were my top choice based on my own criteria (for $100), although their sound quality isn't quite as good as the MDR-V6s. But there are too many good buys without detachable cables to pass up.

Probably the best budget headphones you can get. What are the issues you're having with your MDR, that you don't like? is the frequency response too flat for your tastes? Uncomfortable?

Hi guys, Idk if this has been posted here yet, but here we go never the less. There is currently a kickstarter for some new audio speaker and equipment company called Grain Audio, which besides claiming to have near brilliant sound (for music) in their devices, they also rock with this neat ass wooden look. obviously im mostly psyked for the cool headphones! take a look and kickstart this thing if you feel it is worth it. also so I can get my pair. ^^

Hi, I'm thinking of buying some headphones and upgrading from my Razer Banshee (I won them at a LAN tournament, don't judge me!).
I was thinking of a few headphones that I could buy:
Sennheiser HD-518 Creative Aurvana Live Koss Pro DJ100
They are all within my price range but I am having trouble deciding which would be best for me.
I game a lot so of course I want them to be comfortable. Also, I listen to a lot of metal so I guess if one of these is better for metal than others I'd buy that one. Any tips or recommendations?

Pointless to support a company like that really since the audio industry is so conflicting already. Support it if you enjoy supporting people, but I wouldn't expect much out of it.
They haven't had any reviews. They promise music above all, yet all their descriptions seem to greatly emphasize the beautiful design and walnut construction, and to describe the sound quality they use general buzz words. Solid reviews of early production samples from good members of the audio community would be nice.

did anyone have tried psb m4u headphone? just curious could someone share their review thx

I really want to get DT 770 Pros (80 ohm ver) but it's so expensive for me. As far as higher-end equipment goes, obviously there's stuff that's much more expensive even from there, but yeah I'll have to save up
I got the k240s a while ago and I was pretty disappointed with them, not very comfortable and the sound quality was sort of meh. Also want to get an E17 since you can use it as a DAC and an amp :X

I haven't tried that model in particular, but probably the HD 518. Those are open-back (non-sound-isolating, meaning sound goes right in and out) and have larger earcups, which generally for most people mean higher levels of comfort.

So what didn't you like about the sound of the K240 Studio? What would you like different? Just making sure DT 770 makes sense and is a step in the right direction.

Oh thanks! Hmm it's hard to say. I felt like the k240s sounded sort of... dead, and massively inferior to my IEMs (RE-262s). I drive both with a little E6 amp Anyway, by the time the volume was turned up enough to be able to pick out anything/get the music to feel more lively, it was just too loud. I'm not an expert but maybe it's considered lack of detail? Not sure. I can't say what expectations I had going in, but the sound just felt sort of boring. The bass was mushy and the mids/highs were boring or unspectacular, I felt.
Another huge component of it was how uncomfortable it was, though. I've heard comfort is great even for glasses-wearers (I do wear glasses) but the pleather got hot and it generally felt uncomfortable. It also flopped around a lot. I've heard that the dt 770 is one of the most comfortable cans so that's a main reason for me haha.
The reason I was thinking about the E17 is that I just have a normal sound card on my laptop (don't have a desktop >.<) and I was thinking that the lack of a good source (is the term for sound cards/processors?) might limit the headphones and whatnot.

Looking to get an IEM for work so something I can wear for hours. Something mid-level (under 100$) and with a bit v shaped signature (listen to a lot of trance/house music). Any recommendations? (i'd like to just wear my m50s to work but that might be a bit out of place lol)

Need some opinions on the Seinheiser PC 363D.
I am looking for a surround sound headset that is very comfortable and good quality. I was looking for Steelseries but not sure anymore as I heard they have some quality issues.
Is this a good choice?

Hi guys,
I´m looking for some headset about 100 Dolars. I need definitely something really comfortable. (I´m wearing headset more than 6 hours per day and I have glasses with quite a big "retro" frame.) I also need good microphone and headset will be used only for gaming, so I dont really need some audiophile experience. Personally, I can´t recognize difference, betwwen sound of various models... Until now, I was thinking about some SteelSeries poducts, but I donť have personal experience and I´m open to every manufacturer. So if you can suggest some good headset, which would be fitting to my requirements, It will be great! Thanks!

My buddy is getting his jh 16 made: http://www.jhaudio.com/product/jh16-pro-custom-ear-monitor
I'm kinda torn about these myself, but I'm waiting for his impression before seeing if it's worth it to drop that much on a pair of IEMs.

Haha that'd be nice but it's also about two months of rent. ended up just getting another pair of klipsch s4s (had em a few years ago and loved em till they broke) since they're about half of what they were when i last bought em and got some comply tips to go with them.

Weirdly, I find my s4s to be more durable than higher end IEMs I own, including klipsch X10s even though I took better care of the latter.
The s4s are great for commute and daily use. Don't need to worry about getting them banged up.

Yeah i was using them for the gym, they had a pretty rough life and the cables got messed up by the jack/earbud, sound just eventually stopped coming out

I have some sennheiser pc350 decent pair of headphones in my opinion and i plug them into a asus xonar essence stx

Hey guys. I'm looking to get a decent pair of headphones. I need for them to be closed I think because I work in a cubicle environment. I'll be using them for both music and gaming, but I've wanted to get into making some electronic music and maybe doing a little recording, so I want something that would function well in that domain as well.
I play sc2 and dota2 almost exclusively. I listen to a lot of different music. Mostly jazz fusion and blues, but some classical and hip-hop/electronic stuff too.
My current thought is to get these: http://www.amazon.com/Beyerdynamic-DT-880-Pro-Headphones-250/dp/B001B1QENY
People seem to recommend them as a versatile pair in this thread, and the price on them seems really good (I'm not sure why they're discounted so much). I don't really want to spend more then $250. If there's a pair that's cheaper and only marginally lower on performance, I'd be interested. However, I could also be convinced to spend a little more if they're ballin' as hell.
Let me know what you think. I currently have a crappy Realtek HD Audio sound card and no amp, but I'll be replacing the sound card when I build a new pc in the next month or 2, so it shouldn't be a limiting reagent.

Can someone give me some advice as to which headphones I should get? I'm open to any suggestions. I'm looking for something with good value and I prioritize comfort and lightweight over other things. Looking for full-sized over the ears headphones to use at home only.
I'm thinking about just getting the Sennheiser HD201 but they are about $25 and often go on sale for $12 or so. So I figured if I'm going to spend that much maybe I should look for something slightly better like the HD 419 or 429 and Audio Technica ATH M30.
Alternatively I'm considering maybe getting the Audio Technica ATH M50 because of the good reviews on it. I previously had the AD700 but they were waaay too big and loose on my head.
Is the Audio Technica M30 the best value under the $50 price range? How does it compare to the HD201 comfort wise and sound wise?
I need help deciding!
