As for the sound, it is pretty amazing to put simply. It doesn't have a heavy bass system in it, like others have wrote, but for me I feel like too much bass drowns out other musical notes you might miss. Cross-fades (I won't go as far as mentioning their other products, however I do assume they are similar) allow me to hear notes in songs that I did not know existed. It just brought an experience for me that I had not had before. For me, these headphones have been the most bang for my buck. I would recommend these too anyone, they are just a great pair of headphones.
M100 are bass heavy and not as refined as the M80. LP2 are like a poorer M100. You can't be talking about the M80s since they're on-ear, so yeah... it's hard to take this post seriously, especially since you're just throwing the term Crossfade instead of the actual model number. I appreciate a nice, sounding fun headphone, but throwing praise on like this is a bit ridiculous. They're all built like a tank though, so that's excellent.

Some help would be appreciated. After 5 years i broke my set http://www.amazon.com/Tritton-Digital-Surround-Gaming-Headset/dp/B000FP0K78/ref=sr_1_1?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1361684273&sr=1-1&keywords=triton AX360
Likes-- 5.1 sound pretty good for my PC and ps3 in terms of hotswapping from actual stereo to headset easily adjustable volume for all speakers
Dislikes connection to ps3 via IR always extremely loose (probably my ps3 but I was always way to lazy to troubleshoot the problem as i found it workable) Head gap was to deep even at the shortest length Ear pads impossible to keep on consistently
Other: Mic was nice, but literally never used it (started streaming a lot more since i broke the attachment so it would be good but not needed as I have another mic.
Looking for something similar, may just get myself another pair depending on your feedback. If anyone can point me in a direction of something comparable in terms of price/quality it would be greatly appreciated.

I know I will love the cans because I hate strong bass, love a huge soundstage, and listen to alot of classical but I read these are the positional audio headphone king so was wondering if I will see that too. To answer your question, there is no advantage for rts games, only certain fps games with good sound engines.

So nothing like I can hear a battle across the map or if I leave unit response sounds on I can hear when units finish no matter where I am?
Thats a shame.

I am using the crossfade LP (not LP 2 just to clarify), they are a bit out-dated but I still thoroughly enjoy these headphones.

Does anyone know anything about the Sennheiser Momentum?
http://en-de.sennheiser.com/on-ear-headphone-momentum-stereo
I've been looking to replace my headset for a while now, wanted to go from my PC 161 (I think, might be 171, or something, can't remember, that's how old it is) to a headphone clip-mic combo.
The Momentum seems to be marketed as a portable set of headphones, but I could basically get them for 50% of the price, so I'm thinking about just getting them for my computer anyway.

Hey. I'm looking to purchase some nice headphones. There is Sennheiser In-Ear CX 300-II for 45 euros and there is also Sennheiser In-Ear MX 271 for 10 euros. I'm going to use them at my laptop, playing games. Also I am going to use them at the gym. I want nice quality sound for music.
|
So the cord on my k271's died, and you can't fix it because they thought it's cool to mold over the plugs. #moneygrubbing. Anyway I'm getting proper goldplated plugs to replace it. Anyone have any idea what kind of wire is the best to make a headphone cord? Should I just get a copper XLR cable ?

Hello audiogeeks! I dont know if this is the correct place to ask, tried the other thread but haven't got any response, so I am trying here
After trying to communicate with ProxyWolf and the other GSL casters, I have given up as they dont respond.
Does anyone here have any experience with the GSL (Think its Zowie) headphones they use in the booth? Is it closed? Over the ear? How is the sound quality?
And how about the Sennheiser HD558? Any experience with that?
My use is gaming, music and skype/mumble/teamspeak etc. If anyone have different suggestions, that has the same price range as the HD558, that would be great. I use a standalone microphone, so I really dont need/want headphones with mics on them
Thanks in advance!

Hey everyone. I have a budget of 250 CDN and I was wondering what would be the best headphones for noise canceling (not earbuds).

I cannot answer that question personally (I don't use noise-cancellation headphones), but a good site to check for anything audio related would be... http://www.head-fi.org/ Use the search function or post on it, and you'll (likely) get a good response.
Though, if you want my opinion on noise-cancelling, I would veer away from NC as it distorts the sound, but if you aren't that picky about the real quality of what you hear, then by all means, go ahead! Also, the cheaper they are, the more obnoxious the NC effect is. I think the general rule is noise cancel is only worth it if you've got a budget $300+++ and go with noise isolation, closed headphones for under $300.

Okay, I don't need full NC but I just need it so my roommate (in a dorm) cannot hear them my music and, they need to be very comfortable. What would you recommend?

Closed back beyer like the DT770 possibly. Suuuuuper comfortable and decent enough isolation (any closed back should be good for a roommate not being disturbed at a decent volume). Of course, listing what kind of music you like might get a better recommendation.
Also checking in with a: Beyer T1 Violectric V200 CA DacMagic

What would you recommend? Have a genre preference? Do you want a lot of bass? Or do you want a well-balanced (nothing is heavily emphasized) pair? I can try a good recommendation without more info though. I highly recommend putting some time into finding out what "sound" you like. Google around or check headfi out to get some knowledge. You need to know what headphones will run on what equipment. If you buy a nice set of headphones for $300, you'll find that your iPod cannot power them properly. Standard computers work fine, but sound cards are always nice. Also, you may want to look into an amp if you are "srs" about it. The better headphones usually require amps for portal players.
Here is a nice V-shaped (bass and treb are forward, middle range is recessed), well-isolated set: http://www.amazon.com/Ultrasone-HFI-580-Surround-Professional-Headphones/dp/B00101UHS8/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1362721378&sr=8-1&keywords=ultrasone hfi-580 They have pretty heavy bass, but they also block noise quite well!
These are also a nice pair that recently came out... The older model (840 I think it was?) were good as well. Look at them also to see if it'd be better for you (cost-efficiently) http://www.amazon.com/Shure-SRH940-Professional-Reference-Headphones/dp/B004P7ROQC/ref=sr_1_2?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1362722237&sr=1-2&keywords=srh 940
Lastly: http://www.amazon.com/Audio-Technica-ATH-M50-Professional-Monitor-Headphones/dp/B000ULAP4U/ref=sr_1_1?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1362722057&sr=1-1&keywords=m50
I would seriously suggest checking them all out first, deciding what will work best for what you want and making certain that you can use them properly with whatever equipment you plan on using. The more you pay, the more likely it is you'll need an amp for your media player (iPod, sansa, etc) so keep that in mind.
I hope that helps! They are all good headphones (excluding maybe the 940's, since that's a newer model but fits price). Pretty sure the cost would be about the same for Canada Currency.
And also, the Beyer's are good as well as above poster stated.

Figured this is a good place to ask, despite a slight irrelevancy...
What's a cheap (sub ~$30 but flexible) headset holder? Normally I just stick my Platronics on top of my case but for my Frost Blue, I wanted something nicer to put them on. Unless putting them on my monitor does it absolutely no harm, then I'll just put it on my monitor.

Anyone have recommendations for solid headphones (should easily last a few years) under around $150 with a detachable cable? Currently have Sony MDR-V6s, and am looking for sound comparable to those.
I'm debating just getting another pair of MDR-V6s, but there's a few minor things which I think could be improved.

I'm debating just getting another pair of MDR-V6s, but there's a few minor things which I think could be improved. The only ones I can think of for under 200 with detachable cables are V-Moda m80 and LP2. Haven't heard the mdr-v6 so I cant comment on their sound qualities.

Hi guys, I need a replacement headset for my computer as my creative sound blaster simga's broke after a year.... thanks mom.... i really did like the sound and the noise cancelling on them. Also did enjoy the program to help change the sound... sorry can't think of what it is called.
Here's the link to the sigma's: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16829102037
So i kinda need a new headset now and would like suggestions. Please keep around/under $100. Only ever used for gaming. The sigmas had a short cable for my taste, even if it was longer than the one i had before. Also they didn't fit my head very well and by that i mean they could fall off easy. They were very comfortable though.
Also, mic is kinda required.
THANKS!@!!!
