I was looking at Bose AE2s as I've heard good things about Bose comfort and the price seems reasonable. Anyone have an opinion on really comfortable headphones? If you're looking for closed headphones that don't leak sound, and are also comfortable to boot, I'd try looking at: Denon D1001, Denon D2000, or ATH-A700. Very, very comfortable, and much better sound quality than the Bose (compared to price).

Beyerdynamic DT 770 (Pro 80 is the best variant according to many; personally that's the only one I've heard) is another good option for comfortable closed headphones in that price range. AKG K271 may also be worth investigating. The K272 HD and K271 MK II are the same thing as the K271, just with different combinations of pads and/or cords.

Apple trick you with some magics in their headphones. This headphone is good, but I'm 100% sure in apple store they have some kind of expensive amp to boost the headphone up. And they sound differently with my headphone with exactly the same set up(3GS + P5). So if you have a good amp, then buy it, and make sure you choose the one with comfortable ear pads. Mine are kinda rock. Pretty sure the headphones in the apple store were just attached to the ipods or computers. And don't just buy an amp for the sake of having it - it really depends on your headphones. And they sound 'amazing' in the apple store because they do sound good to the regular customer. Most people can't tell the difference between a good set of cheap headphones (~$30) and a true high end headphone. And so a lot of headphones end up being marketed as high end (with a huge price tag) to impress the regular customer. EpiK, if you're new to headphones, I think it'd a bad idea to spend a shitton of money when you can get something that sounds the same that costs 8 times less.
Any suggestion ?

They're on amazon for 150 but that sounds way overpriced.
Also, how big are their earcups? I have pretty big ears and I'm afraid it won't be able to cover it entirely!

So does anyone know wheres a good place to get started with this whole thing? I plan on asking for a good setup for christmas, but I have no idea what i need >.>

A big thanks and shoutout to ieatkids5 for helping me.
I couldn't decide between the Portapros or the ksc75s so i just went with the latter. They have similar drivers and they are half the price. I was told by many that this is the best first set of phones to buy because it is frequently compared to the higher end cans if you wish to choose to continue exploring high quality sound/mods.

First post in this tread.
Anyhow, ticked the "gaming headset" options. Since, I got a headset with pretty good sound and a decent mic, but I haven't used it in over a year.
Used to, though. When I was raiding in World of Warcraft, but now I just use my speakers, a pair of Dynavoice F-6 and an Eltax AVR-900 along with an X-fi Xtreme Gamer is excellent for my use. And if I want more bass, I got the option of hooking up a 150W 12" subwoofer to the Eltax. The building almost shakes off the foundation if I turn up the volume very much :p
And, since I use glasses, most headsets press too hard against my ears, and it becomes very uncomfortable after a while.

No problem man, my pleasure. And I'm glad that you ended up getting the ksc75s. I actually feel kinda dumb for not recommending those, since they're maybe the best deal you can get for price/sq. But my personal preference got in the way... I personally don't like clip-ons, and didn't think of them.

Just bought these. They are well worth it.
For earbuds I use the Punch Plugs by Rockford Fosgate. The music sounds amazing. They have great bass and great everything else. I can hear subtleties in my music no matter how much noise is around. I actually have to pull one bud out of my ear so I can hear when to shift the old '93 Freightliner (old and loud truck) we have on our ranch- and this is when listening at a reasonable volume level. Also the cable is flat and doesn't tangle easily. Would recommend.

On Amazon the Sennheiser HD555 and the Audio Technica ATH AD700
prices are relatively similar and I was wondering what you guys would recommend more :O also heres the links for good deals :D
