first of all, i haven't watched a lot of "classic" or so called "must-see" movies, so i'm probably missing out many things. also, i think there is a difference between an "artful" movie or a movie which is simply entertaining, charming. example: amelie. i really enjoyed that film but i wouldn't say it's a masterful work of art. opposite: mulholland drive. beautiful aesthetics in every aspect but quite exhausting to watch (considering all those negative vibes). but whatever, here are some movies i consider to be the best i've watched (overall criteria): space odyssee 2001 seven samurai chinatown apocalypse now clockwork orange there are a lot of movies which i also find very interesting and good but i think those five stand out somehow (in my list). | ||
