To clarify: I forgot to say that the original english soundtrack of the movie don't actually feature any "starcraft sounds", I was talking about a more recent version made for the DVD (with enhanced audio quality etc).
I never implied that the original movie "borrowed" starcraft sounds HENCE the year in the title.
Stop silly posts plz.
I watched this movie a long time ago when I was young and I've always been intrigued by the fact that I recognised Starcraft (BW of course) sounds in the DVD menu and in the movie itself! Which is really wierd since the movie is way older than the game.
I made a video to show this :
(turn up the volume and listen closely)
As you can see, when leaving the menu, at the time the "door" opens you can clearly hear the sound of a terran building lifting off... And at the end, when Sigourney Weaver closes that door, it makes the sound of a dropship unloading an unit...
After a while I realised that this only occured on the french audio track, so maybe there just has been some starcraft fans in the alien post-production team who had some fun changing the sounds... Still, quite disturbing.
Any thoughts on this?
