Everyone has different preferences on what kinds of shoes they like. Some of you may have dozens of pairs of shoes, and some of you may have only a few pairs. But out of all the shoes that you own, or have ever owned in your entire life, which pair of shoes has been the most comfortable? For you, this might mean the most cushiony or the most spacious or the most well air-circulated.
Whatever your criteria is for assessing why a certain shoe beats the rest, post your reasoning in this thread. List the shoe name, include a picture of the shoe if you can, and post why that shoe is the most comfortable shoe ever.
For me: K Swiss Glaciator 7.0
I have worn this shoe for literally 7 years of my life. The main reason that I love this shoe is that it is not only spacious, but extremely cool (as in cold). It allows a ton of air flow and your feet almost never get hot. They are also very good for casual walking around (not tight or constricting), however the shoe is specifically designed for playing tennis. I can walk around in these for 8 hours and not feel any discomfort at the end. I also like the looks.

Not when you work 8 hour days in them....
But I think any good loose skate shoes are the most comfortable.
Skate shoes are pretty good, but the problem with them is that they are pretty heavy. And I like my shoes to be as light weight as possible so it's almost like I'm not wearing or can't tell they are there.

some light canvas shoes; heavy shoes eventually tired out your ankles. i wear my nike sweet classic almost daily. birkenstocks do look comfortable... might have to get one for the summer
I bought a K-Swiss pair after seeing the 6 month guarantee, thinking I could just cash them in after 6 months (I've never seen a pair of tennis shoes last that long). Still going strong 9 months later and they are the most comfortable shoes I've ever had, I wear them all day every day now.
I got these rich man's shoes from China. They are leather inside and out. They look kind of like a cross between boots and bowling shoes. The bottoms are a checker pattern of rubber "cleats." They are pretty comfy.
I also have some TEVA sandals, which are very comfy.
I also have some Clarks shoes that are comfy. And Rockports lasted me a long time too. I want birks but haven't got to yet.

I actually don't know the brand of them or anything, since I received them as a gift from friends overseas.
I used to wear chucks when I worked in a department store and it was really unpleasant at times. After 30min the feet would feel sweaty and as the day progressed it would just increase. By the time I was done with work the biggest relief was getting out of them. Shoes in OP look might nice =)

they're Li Ning shoes. it's a really popular brand in China.
My Puma Voltaics are definitely my favorite shoes, any of the 3 pair.. It's between those and my ADIDAS Novastars, which were insanely comfortable when I first got them, but they've broken down quite a lot since then.
I don't care for shoes with alot of padding makes your foot weak, strength though adversity yo.
Edit: lol i totally didn't notice someone else posted it, i love them for running shoes work very well.
My roommate has those. He wears them when he is going to climb so it makes sense to have them. I don't see why people buy $100 dollar shoes like that for no specific reason except to try and look cool lol.
I get the most comfort out of skate shoes. I love vans and dc.
I don't have a picture but I know they were Nike and had some blue on them. However, it was the lightest pair of shoes I've ever had. Like seriously it felt like I was walking barefoot that's how light it was. They were pretty thin though and didn't last too too long, but god damn it felt good to wear them.

That looks like stuff I possibly could wear when Im besides the computer. Thats also when I dont need shoes so I would never buy something like that.
Personally I tend to change shoes according to acitivty (like most people do I guess). Since I only could pick one pair of shoes it would have to be my running shoes. A pair of New Balance 1063. Best shoes I've ever bought. Feels light, comfy and gentle to your feet. Pretty much the perfect shoe,
Nike Shox, the style with the attached tongue, although second would be some New Balance running shoes.
One of the coolest things about my shoes are that the tongue isn't separate like in most shoes; it's part of the sides of the shoes so it never falls to the side of your feet. Not a big deal but it makes putting on your shoes without your hands so easy.
Hm. The cheapest sneakers I can find. After a month or two of use, they feel pretty darn awesome. Expensive shoes usually hurt more for me.
But the best pair of footwear I've ever worn was probably the swedish army boots. Holy shit, so much room for your toes you could practically rent out the leftover space. Miles of walking and running, never hurt once. Reeeeally comfy! They get pretty warm on hot summers, but whatcha gonna do. I prefer barefoot then anyways
Still pissed that I didn't manage to nick a pair for myself...
For those of us with flat feet, comfort pretty much means a shoe that fits. It's kinda cool now how skater shoes are widely popular, but damn are they heavy. Gotta go with a nice wide "European-style" shoe. Otherwise it's sneakers with orthotics for me, shoes with "arch support" don't really support flat feet for more than like 2 weeks.

I work 8 hour days in flip-flops. They're fine unless you have to walk through water/mud or go up stairs quickly.
how long has you've been working in them? Since after 3 years my feet, knees and back are jacked. However, that is after over 6k hours, but i've been hurting for awhile.
My bare feet feel the most comfortable. I try to run barefoot on fields that aren't ridden with dog shit from irresponsible dog owners and I'm always barefoot at home, feels amazing.
I can't really come up with a specific style, but New Balance makes really comfortable running shoes. Everyday shoes has to go to K-Swiss though. They make some deliciously feeling foot-clouds =P

About 4 years, but it's part time and some days it's a lot more sitting than walking. The only adverse effect I have is a very attractive tan line and occasional horrible toe stubbing.

Yeah they're kinda skater shoes but they made my life awesome.
I'm on Marc Ecko's now.
I seriously think Adidas makes the best shoes on the market. When I sold shoes I'd always recommend Adidas over any other brand, people were too caught up in hearing about how great NB was though to actually try something else. It was always "oh, my friend said NB is the best." Tools. NB's arch support is nothing compared to that of the Supernova's by Adidas. It's a lighter foam, with even better support, and the separation on the heel helps reduce impact. Definitely the best pair of running shoes I've ever owned, but I'm rambling now.
I love the lightness of chucks, other shoes start feeling unnecessarily heavy after wearing them a while haha. They're still the most comfortable shoe I've worn. I don't wear them for a trend or anything, just picked em up one day and decided they were pretty nice.

LOL, I'm sure that works well. There's no way to stand on small edges the way you can with actual climbing shoes, since the area around the toes isn't solid. I guess they'd be OK for smearing, and there are actually people who climb 5.13+ barefoot, but they're ridiculous.
More related to the topic, does anyone know some good shoes which are really loose around the insertion of the achilles tendon, or which elevate the heel a bit so that that area isn't pressured by the back of the shoe? My left heel is irritated there, probably from my climbing shoes .
nike SB are hand down the most comfy skate shoes, they honestly surround your feet in a pillow
im another one against the chucks, there's just no support in them and as much as i hate t say it, crocs are pretty good, but their just soo freakin ugly
definately the most comfy running shoe's i've ever worn...only problem is they've been banned from competitive competitions because they give the runner "to much advantage" or some bs
but if you run just to run you should definately try them

Sometimes when I feel like goofing off, I wear them to the club with jeans, shirt, tie and a casual jacket. Sometimes I wear them with chinos and a cheap t-shirt. They're good for so many occasions!
No one has mentioned any basketball shoes yet? They are so comfortable and balanced. I think it just goes hand in hand with the performance and protection driven designs. Currently wear Kobe IVs. Used to have some Jordan retros and they were awesome in every way:

They make me think of gorilla feet
I have a pair of adidas skate shoes that were $15 and they're amazing. If I lace them up tight they're just as comfortable for running as my expensive new balances and I even wear them to the gym sometimes.
i don't have a pair yet, but i've been told that it feels amazing
I have a pair of VFF classics, I run/train in them and just generally wear them around where-ever. They are awesome indeed, you won't want to wear anything else on your feet after you get used to them. The health benefits and strength gains make you realise how much sense our feet make as instruments to get us around rather than shoes. Shoes, which, only cause health problems..not to mention they actually begin to deform your feet.

btw guys, wear running shoes if you want comfortable shoes. they are lightweight and has nice cushioning depending on how much you spend on them. they are not the most fashionable shoes.
but if you want some style wear nikes or underarmour running shoes lol..
asics has always been my favorite brand for running shoes. The price/performance ratio is astonishing and if you take good care of them, they can last you for years. My current pair is 2 years now (1 year of it military service) and is only now starting to show some signs of deterioration. I guess I'm an asics fan for life when it comes to shoes. :3

GEL-1140 is an old model, the new one is called 1150, and if we're really talking comfortable shoes you need to upgrade to 2150, Nimbus or Kayano. Kayanos are too good to be wasted on walking though, the support they give the foot makes them godlike for running. If you are just using them for standing/walking they're great. A cheaper and also very viable alternative are ASICS Pulse, very cheap and a good bang for your buck. (ASICS - anima sana in corpore sano, healthy mind, healthy body)
I use 2140 at work (standing for 8+ hours a day) and they're OK. Many of my colleagues use Kayanos, since they tried them on and can't go back. The ASICSs gel is just amazing.
Other viable alternatives are Nike Free, very lightweight and still comfortable, Nike Structure, a bit heavier but with so much patented gas in them they'll last quite long or Nike Air Span. For Trekking shoes I prefer Ecco or The North Face, though both brands are fairly expensive.
Also do note if you stand alot invest in 2 pair of shoes, they'll last much longer than one and remain comfortable longer as well.
For Sneakers I prefer Adidas superstar, since they're cheap, good-looking and highly breathable. I can't really afford them too often so I use a pair of 15$ Race Marine sneakers atm - not as pleasant as a more expensive pair though.
Overall most comfortable: ASICS Kayano by faaaaaaaar.
Just browsed through the rest of the thread. Sneakers are NOT meant for longtime standing/walking, and I'm amazed that your feet aren't killing you after an hour or so. Try a pair of running shoes, they really do wonders for your feet.
Also someone mentioned that adidas makes the best running shoes, which I find is only a half truth. Their 'cheap shoes' (Ozone etc.) are very good, but if you're a guy who needs the most support he can get the high-end NB and Asics models are better IMHO. It's all in what you're looking for. Adidas makes the best semi-cheap football boots as well, but get completely outclassed by Nike in the higher ends. (Superfly II *drool*)
I wear Nike 360s when doing anything athletic and Cole Haan boat shoes for all other occasions. Sadly they no longer make the model I have now, though. Have to find a new pair.
I find skate shoes really comfortable (I can barely stand on a skateboard without insta dying). Also some barefoot time while in my house is really relaxing.

agreed kayanos are amazing. its alot of money for them tho but you get what you get cause 140$ you get one of the best cushioning shoes around.
2150's are the little brothers of the kaynano's but they are less cushioning but still amazing.
also i have 2 pairs of mizunos renegade and i alternate them so they last long.
i work at footwear department over at dicks sporting goods lol
also there are shoes with different arches. like if your flat footed you wouldnt want to wear a shoe with a high arch in them. wearing the right pair of shoes with the right arch would you give the best comfort.
I wore sneakers all my life, doesn't matter the weather. I was growing up being 100% confident that the most comfortable ones were always asics and new balance, even though I've never worn new balance in my entire life. But as time passed I started to lean towards nike a lot, it sure doesn't last as long as some but it is really comfortable if you pick them carefully.
Asics are amazing, especially if you're doing sports, but they don't look as good in the urban atmosphere and get dirty real fast (most of them have whitish patterns). Adidas are probably most durable, but not as comfy. New balance is straight up ugly. Puma and all the shoe-like sneakers are things I've never tried and probably won't try. I pick nike!
I was going to take a pic of the last 4 pairs of sneakers that I've had but the old ones are too dirty lol. Here's what I got now:

I have a pair of these for running, but I started using them casually as they are my most comfortable pair of shoes.
Vomero 4.
I also have a pair of Merrell Chameleon Stretch 3 - Kangaroo.
They are great all terrain shoes, but I guess what is even more important than how awesome or comfortable they are, is that Bear Grylls wears them, and you should too.
People only bring shame to themselves and their friends and families when they wear Crocs. They might be comfortable, but they are somewhat 'shit looking'.

I love to give people shit about crocs and most of the times the wearer even agrees crocs are fugly, but 'so comfortable'. Proper shoes are comfortable as well, plus better looking.
